I love this. Mostly because I like seeing what other people do with their in game fashion. I also think it would be a great idea to do a showcase of other peoples fashion, since most of your examples are very close in style and it would be great to see more variety. If you do decided to do a viewer fashion show case, I have a few non-gemstore outfits I could contribute. I really love the fashion game, and I love to inspire other to jazz up their looks as well. Also a little tip for everyone who is getting into the fashion wars: dyes make a HUGE difference. Choosing the right dyes can make or break a combination of pieces. And diffrent materials take the dyes diffrently, so it might be that you need to pick three diffrent dyes to get the same colour on three diffrent armor pieces.
yeah I think it would be fun to see other peoples style outfits, I'm interested in getting some submissions for future videos like this. Not sure how I would coordinate that at the moment but it's definitely something I will be trying to do
Yes, especially the newer designs. They just flashy in the most litteral sence of the word. I have a few older gemstore sets, that I love to use pieces from, but the new ones don't appeal to me. And the few good pieces are all tided up in outfits, so they can't be combined with other stuff.
that's the main problem with "fashion" in guild wars 2. Boils down to who look the most either like a Xmas tree or some weird unrecognizable blob of "LOOK AT ME" VFX.
different strokes for different folks, the same reason many dont want to be a walking glowing decor is the same reason many dont want to be a basic npc 😂
I more appreciate you explaining your strategy behind creating each look than just the looks themselves, but they look great too! Will be returning to this video to get ideas for my own fashion sets.
Fantastic video. As someone who constantly feels like I dont have quite the right pieces when playing fashion wars on a character, I got a lot of new ideas.
The Female Norn Medium Armor wins the prize, it is well done and dyed, pieces match and look stunning with great coloring, well done. I like your video ideas, truly, especially the lore bytes, and when you mix the lore with the items you showcase in some of your videos, it helps people appreciate the game more overall, not just aesthetically but lore-wise as well. Thanks for the great vids.
Any of the 3 backpacks that can be bought for Canach Coins look great on Asuran engineers. I use the "Jade Technician Backpack" on mine. Id recommend checking those out.
I made a warrior outfit based around the champion of lions arch weapons, shoulder and cape and i ended up using the obsidian armor for the other pieces because the colors dyed exactly the same as the weapons. Thanks for the video!
it's really satisfying having an entire outfit all matching weapons included, I might just have to make some more weapon based out fits for my other characters
I admit I use some fashion from the shop. But I actually prefer most of the armor in the game. Most of the time, my cash shop fashion is usually just a back piece. One of my favorite ingame gloves is the blessed Zephyrite gloves. One of my favorite tops is the bladed leather top. But yeah, you don't need cash shop gear to look cool. My rangers armor set with the exception of her cape is armor you can craft around level 30. Her pants are the basic crystal bloom armor. And the cape is the only cash shop item. I wanted it because it's the cape with the quiver on it. 😊 She's dressed as a basic hunter. My engineer doesn't use any cash shop fashion at all and I appreciate how people say he looks like he's from Warhammer. 😂❤😊
I actually almost always end up using ingame pieces instead of the gemstore stuff - the gemstore stuff us great too but there's so many interesting ingame pieces that I rarely feel like I have to. exception might be head pieces tho, as heavy tend to all helmets so if I want to shoe my characters face I do have to go with alternatives (tho there are festival and event skins that are same for all 3 weights!) I love being able to mix n match pieces and end up with some super unique looks!
5:50 You could also pick the Antique Dragon's Drape for this look, from the antique canthan armor collector. You will need to unlock 6 armor pieces from this collection to get it
that flaming 🔥 charr deserves Volcano greatsword and the WvW legendary backpack to give it an even more on fire looks 👌🏾😁 and also just in case i know is from Gem Store items but the Etherbound armor has good pieces with more flames for you 😀
That was a great video idea, I really enjoyed it! It's too bad about the luminous armor pieces. I was stupid enough to completely nuke my old account I stopped playing on, without realizing I could have gotten loads of birthday presents. Oh well, six years are gonna pass anyway, might as well do it right this time. Cheers!
That was awesome to say the least. Seems like we're sharing some takes. The upcoming festival of the four winds is in my opinion my all-time favourite festival- and I won't lie I'm a big festival hater except for this one and some part of Halloween- both in term of beautiful and unique skins; the Zephyrite shawl shoulders skin, the Sun-blessed Zephyrite glove skins AND the Sun-grown and Sun-blessed weapons are absolute bangers if you ask me. The Olmakhan shoulder pieces and the Bloodstone crown you can get from season 3 if I'm correct are also two pieces I genuinely love. Cheers!
i really wish you could transmute armors from different armor classes. soooo many heavy armors would go great on my reaper. and it would give those of us that use only one class many more options and sets to chase.
The game is kind of great in the sense that anything can be done at end game. But as far as long time goals, fashion, achievements, and legendaries are the big ones
0:40 I noticed you said "combinations of race, gender, and armor class", when it should be "race, s3x, and armor class". Regrettably for this very inclusive game studio the character creation screen still says "Gender", which is a common mistake and misnomer (because S3x is a dirty word I guess), as players are asked to select the biological male or female s3x and not the self-image or societal gender role of their character. Despite this faux-pas players can choose to role-play a female bodied but male gendered character and later match his body to his gender with a Total Makeover Kit.
better stack Phosphorlumiscent Infusion with different stats. You will be shiny, radioactive green of an abomination... just to assert your dominance over them.
I think the idea is that getting the skin is the win condition. So things like Season 3 mastery achievements that give cool skins are high effort and you win when you put in all the effort to unlock them. If the only thing a skin requires is raw gold, then I can pay to win it.

I only watched this 15 minute appendix to the 2 minute fast fashion ad because I like how you hold the micro-phone.

I like a lot of the none gem store gear cuz i find most of the gem store stuff glow too much

Carapace armor is the best looking free armor, than bladed and the cultural armor, love all of them
Great Video!! Definitely going to be using some of these! We need to see more
Some of the astral acclaim rewards from the wizards vault are pretty nice too.

Ebon and houndskin shoulders are neat

I didn't even know about those, I'll have to check them out. Thanks!
DO MORE OF THIS VIDEOS, PLEASE, I BEG YOU

Love the content man! You should really create a discord to organize some group content together. Keep up the awesome work!

Loving that Charr Ele! Going to have to make one, I have a low level Norn Ele right now that I'm just not vibing with.
yes charr ele is the way, more flame shamans for the flame legion 🤘
I'm probably the only person in gw2 who wears the racing scarf, but it's SNAZZY AF
One of us
I often get compliments for how my main looks, and I worked hard on it. My goal was to make her as shiny as I could without using gem store items.
I did that with my charr guardian, used all requiem armor and polyluminescent infusions now he's a walking yellow sun!
Really enjoyed this! ❤
that flaming 🔥 charr deserves Volcano greatsword and the WvW legendary backpack to give it an even more on fire looks 👌🏾😁 and also just in case i know is from Gem Store items but the Etherbound armor has good pieces with more flames for you 😀
All of the cosmetics I wear on my chars is all non-gemstore stuff, though I do have things from twitch drops like the purple glowy eyes
No love for sylvari i see
was waiting for another one of these videos yes! 🎉

Cultural armors are awesome starter pieces with unique looks. The tier 3’s will run you some gold but its not paid :)
yeah t3 so expensive, getting them from the wvw merchant will lower the gold cost a bit but then you have to have enough badges of honor as well
Great video! Need part 2!
This fashion is pretty legit
thank you! this is what i wanted
Yes! More of this, please.
bruh...that profile picture is crazy lol

more of this pls!
I use alot of ingame gear the only thing they lack are effects, love me some rgb fashion.
Not a single Sylvari, who tend to be the hardest to make a good outfit for :(
Great video idea
i think its a cool content and should do this more. i like it gj
I do a 2B cosplay without expas, and gems
wait theres a dungeon skin that lights the tail on fire?! know we now!! To the dungeon vendor eviebodie!!
I got it only to find out my charr wears heavy, my demise
still an exquisite addition to my collection ✨✨
Pretty sweet looks gj
Fashion Wars isn't a joke. What other endgame goals are there? Cosmetics and achievement points are it afaik.

Can you Tell us what wheapon skins do you have
I think i did something wrong here, i try to make my character glow as mutch as possible xD cuz necro is usually like the edge lord😂
better stack Phosphorlumiscent Infusion with different stats. You will be shiny, radioactive green of an abomination... just to assert your dominance over them.
i like this game
same. is good
imma be honest all non black lion chest exclusive skins (even those are to an extend) are earn-able through gold. So idk how it can be pay to win?

@@hardcastlemcormick On the other hand getting the living story is also paying for it. But i get what you mean.
As Skins maravilhosas 🎉
