I cannot agree with you more. There shouldnt be a profit attached to health. At minimum the conflict of interests should be addressed as monopolies in other industries are.
Agreed! It's too bad more Drs are not telling patients about this. This is not about profit for health plans and big pharma. It's about patient care and what is right. Keep on keeping on, the more that's said people get woke the eff up! I wish this would go viral. Just my small opinion of a guppy swimming with a bunch of sharks.
You are so right!! What happened to our insurance covering health care then billing the difference!!! Last two surgeries I had, removing gallbladder and my last ovary and fallopian tube, I had to pay in advance the “estimated” cost that insurance would not cover! AND that’s when I had insurance through work. When I was unemployed, tried to apply for Obamacare and was refused. Then I received a letter stating I needed to prove my citizenship… born at Ft. Benning, Georgia, an Army brat… and have to prove my American citizenship????? As far as I’m concerned, insurance is a ripoff!!! Just like you said, as long as you’re healthy and they’re receiving their premiums everything is good!!! However, God forbid you get sick!! The insurance companies move us in and out of hospitals like cattle!! I was in hospital early am having internal surgery and was back home same day!!! Why the hell was I paying so much for fucking insurance when I basically took care of myself!!! Premiums are so high, but coverage is next to nothing!! It’s not only United Healthcare, it’s ALL of the insurance companies!!! Thank you for posting this, Dr. Mudgil!!! It’s inspiring to hear a doctor voice the fucked up health care system we have!!!❤
We know. We just don't have the power to change it. The powerful decide who we get to vote for, from a very small pool of people they can control. Even politicians who want to help us, mostly cannot, because they have no chance of being elected without the powerful wealthy people. Then they are at their mercy. Everything is about the ultra rich getting richer. It is very hard for me to pay for gap filler insurance and Medicare. But I sacrifice so that I don't have to have a Medicare Advantage plan. Some people cannot do that. My insurance before retirement was horrible and expensive. They don't care how much we vocalize the issues. They won't change.
I disagree. Most people have the same defeated mindset you’re conveying in this comment and stay silent. We ALL must speak up. That’s how we collectively realize that we’re ALL getting screwed. We’re all suffering on our own islands; our voices are infinitely louder as a collective! 👊🏽
