    FINISHED!!! Instructions here: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-111683/
    Some details like cable layout and partfinder (what is left from each bag) need to be fixed, but I will do in the next days. You can already order bricks and start building.
    CURRENT STATUS 10. May:
    I finally got my 2 solutions, one for the buwizz, one for the powered up hub. I took some videos of my prototype with the buwizz and lights last night. I did it on a parking lot and the manager of the supermarket came over and said, normally we needed a filming permit. And then he started small talking about people who wanted to make a campfire for filming there once and I said: "No, we did the time jump szene last weekend in front of the tool store" and he said: "Oh, that's why it burned down" (it did'nt) I will edit and start with the actual building instructions end of the week, so I hope I can publish this weekend.
    STATUS 25.4
    Today I was trying the weirdest building techniques to keep the steering - which uses a virtual pivot point like the 1989 Batmobile - from crashing the wheels into the frame. But looks lke I found a way. Tomorrow I should get the Light kit. I will start making Instructions the next days and I should get my test buwizz by end of the week.
    STATUS 24.4.
    I have a solution that works. Actually two solutions: one for LEGO's powered up hub and one for the buwizz. The PU Hub is not able to handle the Large motor for driving, so this version gets a medium for driving like the ECTO-1. I hope the buwizz will be able to handle the large motor which should result in double the speed compared to the other version. I will do some testing and then go for making the actual instructions.
    STATUS 22.4.
    I just tested the speed with my prototype and it's crazy how fast that thing goes. I did not dare to go full speed in my flat. I also tested the steering and its working, now I have to fix the front and make instructions. Big Problem with LEGO's Powered up hub though: when I try steering and driving at the same time, LEGO's Hub freezes. Looks like the 2 motors are draining too much power. I hope the Buwizz - a 3rd party control box - will fix that. I am waiting for delivery. That thing must do insane speed at 12V (LEGO's hub has only 9V)
    But that means if I dont get a programmable solution for LEGO's hub, this MOD will be either Buwizz only or I will make a seperate MOD with different (smaller) drive motor for LEGO's Powered up Hub. They should rebrand it to powered down actually. Duh!

      I am totally looking forward to your instructions. I've got the 10300 (still unbuilt) and the BuWizz and motors and will see if I can make it fit, though to be honest I improvise and never make instructions, because I am a lazy bummer.

    Welcome back, that’s great idea for organizing the bricks to space for motor and batteries to be fit on this small car, it will be difficult but you can do it, I’m looking forward to see it on road! Keep it as simple as possible.

    The General Lee will never be done unless you customize the pieces. I wanna see you create your own bricks

    • @recklessglitch
      @recklessglitch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      General Lee jas been done in different versions. Basically you need to print ome stickers and use red bricks.
      I have modified bricks and could do my own, but the point of this is, that anyone can do it from 'standard' LEGO bricks.

  • @olekdh
    @olekdh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I also have an idea of motorizing the car but slightly different, as I would like the car to be on display stand that would make the car look like it's floating in the air, maybe rock from side to side, the extra would be if it could land and transform on the stand but I have no idea what to use for that kind of motion, my first idea would be to use linear actuators but I'm not sure if lego ones are sturdy enough. second idea would be to use some real machine motion parts and maybe 3D print the car/lifter interface parts

    • @recklessglitch
      @recklessglitch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would try to put 3 motors in some kind of plymth, maybe let it look like a roof or street and then you could make linear up down movement and roll and jaw

      Hell yeah it will. That thing is much too small for both. So fly on the shelf or drive around.

  • @DelphineDofain
    @DelphineDofain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I bought the DeLorean set the day it was released and I am thinking of buying 3 of them to have all cars (yeah I know :p) and then I realized that for the 3rd car, they only swapped the wheels, although in the movie, the car was raised (different chassis) to be off-road. As such, I started to mess with the wheels support and found out that if you rotate the orange technic bricks 180°, it will raise the car the same way as the car in the 3rd movie :) (of course, it will prevent the wheels to fold fully under the car but then as Doc Brown said "the car will never fly again" so it doesn't matter :p )

    • @holyboy1
      @holyboy1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh wow, cool. Do you rotate everything that is attached to the orange brick or just the orange brick itself? Can you send a photo to my email if I give it to you, to show me what it looks like on the car?

    • @recklessglitch
      @recklessglitch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @recklessglitch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Has been done already, different approaches even, I also have a solution. Little hint, remove the black 2x2 bricks left and right behind the Flux Capacitor and add some technic bricks, then you can add something there, done. Will be in my instructions of course.

    Would using a buwizz motor be possible in the tumbler?

    • @recklessglitch
      @recklessglitch  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's Lego, so possibly it would work, but: You probably mean the LEGO buggy motor clone produced by buwizz (and bluebrix and a lot of chinese companies). I was thinking about it too. Even bought some. I think one might fit, but It has a similar power (even a bit less I think) as the 2x large motors together that I have used. 2 of the buggys would probably not fit. So there would not be much advantage of doing it, but the disadvantage to rebuild the whole drive module. And since it was difficult enough to get that thing stable I decided not to do it. Why you ask?
