+didiash Bamileke are not mostly in bafoussam. They're from the western region of Cameroon but they live in Yaounde, Douala, Bafoussam, Dschang, etc. They're everywhere in Cameroun. But Bafoussam is the capital city of the western region now (it used to be Dschang). + msuniverse Northwest people are related to Bamileke and even speak similar language, so I often consider them as bamileke too. The disconnection came with colonialism, west to the french, north west to the british.

Its not that we don't like to speak our native language....We were surrounded by French all our lives, my parents never spoke their native language to us only to each other. They would only speak French to us. It always seemed they would only speak our native language when they didn't want us to understand what they were talking about. French was the main language and thats all we knew....and some English ofcause.
My X wife was Cameroonian. Unless their parents don't teach them it's impossible to learn your local dialect. My X wife was bassa. In Cameroon it's all tangui & supermont water. The tap water is deadly in Cameroon...lol You haven't been to Cameroon in 11 years !!! jesus I'm divorced & still go there
