      lots of people forget the 65 mustang with the 289 v8 only got to 60 in 8 seconds. and that was considered quick for the time. its not all about strait speed its handling and fun to drive the miata i mean.

      @@basshead. but with a big engine in the front isn't the car unbalanced. fast on the straitaway but turn a corner quick lots of front end plow. its a roadster, 140 hp enough, just put a turbo on it to get up to 180 hp would be a better option but to each his own.

    • @bandwagon240
      @bandwagon240 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@stevenwilliams2617 it's not so bad. Just remember, the BP is an iron block with an aluminum head, a proper LS is all aluminum. The real weight is in the transmission. Any front/back weight difference is offset by the beefier rearend that's needed (either GM or Ford 8.8 center chunk). Look up Tom's Turbo Garage on YT, he did a magnificent NB LS build that answers so many questions.

      @@bandwagon240 thanks for the info. maybe i'm just getting older, i don;'t need a ton of power, if thats your thing ok, i just appreciate a car doing what it was designed for. back in my day a luxury car was that luxurios, spacious, good cruiser now everyone wants every car to be a race car. give then what they want ls swaps, supercharged, ludicrious mode, lol seems silly to me ludicrious mode.

    The latest ND2 model is an incredible sports car. If you like to drive then it's a blast to get behind the wheel. Sure, it's not a 'supercar' with a gazillion horsepower but the trouble with triple digit cars is that I live on double digit roads. With the vast majority of my time driving from 0 to 70 the MX-5 Miata is the perfect balance of HP & weight. And the RF model scores a lot of points with its cool retractable top. You really have to drive one to appreciate it.

      Yep, had one for three years. I had the power steering delete and it felt like perfection. When I had my daughter, it was sold and I ended up getting a Fiesta ST. The Fiesta was a nice change safety wise. The Subaru STi was next and is where things are now. Kept the Fiesta ST though. Crazily enough, I had the chance to buy back that 10ae about a year ago. Very tempting...

      I still got mine and will never sell it, as long as I'm able to get in and out without a slipped disc in my back!
      Also got a "regular" NB for every day and as a project. It's already upgraded with stiffer and lower shocks and a 6-gear box.
      Almost to much fun to be legal!

    Without a doubt one of the most proven cars Mazda has ever created. I haven't had an opportunity to own or drive one, but sat in at the dealership while servicing my Mazda 5. For my frame at the time, it felt a little tight, but the interior is very nice. I love the classic instrumentation Mazda has used for years. It also looked good in the Protégé as well. I applaud Mazda on how they created, marketed, and kept the price within reason relative to even today's standards.
