- Part 3 of backpacking the Arran Coastal Way.
Sections of the hike were mentally and physically challenging.
And mistakes were made!!
I never thought that I would be facing heat as an issue for this trip. It was mid May on Arran after all!!
There was a huge section that had nowhere to camp and I’m now seriously considering the virtues of bivvi camping.
- I haven’t bivvi camped since my army days … a loooooong time ago… maybe it’s time to revisit it?
Good or bad idea??
The beauty of a bivvi (bivvy…?) is you can sleep nearly anywhere!
That would have been incredibly useful during this section of the trail….

👍🥾💚 nice nature and 👍 Beautiful places
Wonderful 👍
Another lovely vlog Annie. Giving this trail serious consideration for next May.
Thanks for sharing, look forward to part 4 :-) 😀
Do it! Do it! Do it! 😁
I'm way too lazy nowadays for this sort of thing, and too nosey - I love abandoned buildings and can't stop myself investigating stuff. You are so strong - just lovely films for sleepless nights, I love it.
Thank you so much. Old abandoned stuff is the best!! 😁
Love your vids Annie, keep up the good work.
😁 Thank you so much, that’s very kind of you.
30km was a long day! That's great that you had a way to get back to the van as a backup.
That was a tough day for sure! All addd to the adventure of it though 😁
Hi Annie, thank you for this great content. I will do the coastal way in September as my first long distance hike.
Thank you so much. That’s brilliant, you’ll love it!!
Thanks for showing Arran's west coast Annie, I've been to Brodick three times and had a hellish week in a cottage in Lamlash many years ago where it rained constant for a week. 😪. Like 1.
It’s crazy how good I got it with the weather!
A beach to yourself Annie!!😍 One question. If you had fallen over in that cave and caused a domino effect on all those little stone cairns, would you have rebuilt them or done a runner?🤔
🤣🤣🤣 I would definitely have meticulously sat for hours rebuilding them! Haha
34 miles to Brodick old harbour.
Ahha!!!
Thank you!!! 🤩
Never done the circuit yet. Camped one night a few years ago by the coastal path north of Sannox a bit. Had to push the bicycle a kilometre maybe, Great pitch. Would you recommend the full walk? I followed your wee bee's advice 🙂
🥹 that wee bee bomb !!
Absolutely, the full circuit is quite the experience. Well worth it, I had an amazing time. It could definitely be done just as day hikes and using buses, but backpacking it was pretty special ☺️
I’ll be back over as soon as I can to do a bit of bike packing!
@@annieoutdoors Nice. About 9 years ago I cycled up to Lochranza to get ferries over to Islay where I camped 2 nights before ferry to Oban. Then luxury of train back to Glasgow. I was really chuffed with myself☺️Btw the cycle up is a killer with kit!
@@TerryMcGearyScotland That sounds fab! My promise to my self is to find more ways to add adventures into my life…big or small 😁
