Bob is one of those rocks you need to build and sustain society. So much respect. What I don't understand is how according to the news there are only 2-3 persons so far who did not survive the storm/hurricane country-wide, while we see a news anchor on one of the many spots rescue a person from drowning. I fear the number of casualties is much higher.

I've been watching Bob Van dillen and Robin Meade on Headline News for maybe 20 years and I was just wondering about him yesterday and look at him rescuing people it's good to see him he always came across as a stand-up guy
I saw this live. What they’re not showing on this video is that the woman was yelling (for help) repeatedly while he was covering the news and weather nearby. And he yelled back to her that they had called 911 for her, and emergency help was on the way. But of course, the waters were rising really fast, and nobody was there yet to help. She kept yelling for help (of course), and he just handed his mic to somebody and said (I’m paraphrasing), Be right back…I’m gonna have to go get her….and so he did it. Great guy; great save. Wonderful seeing everyone was safe all around. So glad she’s alive and well. If they had waited for emergency responders to get there, I’m not sure things would’ve turned out so well. He did this as if it was just something you do everyday. Hero guy.
Human kindness is such an amazing thing especially when coming to another's rescue without thinking of your own safety. Happy ending for both the lady and Bob the awesome reporter live in action!

Being a person who experienced and lost everything with Hurricane Katrina back home in New Orleans, that is what we need to do on a daily basis for our fellow neighbors friends and strangers. It was the community that kept us all together and a line of communication that helped us survive the aftermath.
I lived on Woodward Way for 18 years and was flooded twice. I now live at 7,000 feet in Santa Fe NM and so grateful I don’t have to go through that horror again. Love and prayers to my former neighbors. And please give that reporter a huge bonus.

Good job Bob, I've lived through 17 floods, I normally use my kayak or wade through waist to chest deep and a few times neck deep water,, yes moving floodwaters... I know first hand the dangers... I wish more were brave enough and less pushed their luck... it is a procedure oner must realize how to navigate or it can quickly turn deadly... Staying focused and calm... you knew this... so as you said all is good. To those reading never try this unless you are 120% sure of yourself...
