Making Solstice Candles

  • The Winter Solstice 2020 is a particularly special Solstice due to the various planetary and lunar line ups and because of the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter which will resemble the Christmas Star. Many indigenous people around the world believe this Solstice is a portal to the Age of Aquarius. We will leave behind the materialism of our current age and move into an age of spirituality and new ideas. I think it is a great idea to join in with our global community who are meditating and visualising and praying over the three days of Solstice, for a better, more equitable and caring world.
For me, that always includes the plants and animals, the mountains and rivers and the forests and jungles. I am really looking forward to the celebrations!
For more information about me visit my website danusirishherb... I run various herbal medicine courses and the Wise Woman Training - which is about to be updated for 2021! You can purchase my books, The Weed Handbooks Volume 1 and Volume 2 - they make an ideal stocking filler or a New Year gift. I also have two courses on the Udemy platform, www.udemy.com/... and for spring,

Solstice Blessings To You And Yours! I use this chant I found in a novel: MOTHER OF US ALL I PRAY, PEACE UPON THE EARTH THIS DAY, BRING AN END TO WAR AND STRIFE, MAKE KINDNESS RULE IN EVERY LIFE. May we create a new year of abundance and blessing for all.

I have no mullen blossoms saved back, but I always celebrate the solstice which I was born during, with a fire of rose wood, sage, and lavender, followed by sweet grass from the American Indians. This year herbs are from the bad lands. I am so glad you shared this! I will save some next year.

Awesome that you speak of Winter Solstice while you make these. I'm approaching my 2022 Yule (17 Jan) and will definitely include thoughts for the world during the Yule Blot. I posted a comment earlier in you Mullein video that I have A LOT of Mullein on our acreage here in East CO. Making these torches just gave me a great idea to have them at Yule (and next Winter Solstice). I have a couple 'older' candles on my alter that may provide some wax; the connection fits I think. I'll have to find some Mullein stalks before the stalks go into the compost piles. You are so awesome; I appreciate you.

It is a wonderful solution. The man sells the aluminium and buys trees and then brings them to schools and gets the children to help him to plant them. He is a great example of someone who is giving back in more ways than one.😄

Dear Terri, thank you so much for sharing your lovely feelings and thoughts. It has been wonderful to discover your videos ( through Bealtaine Cottage and Colette!) I really enjoy them so much! Here, in this part of the world we begin the summer solstice, but anyway, the feelings towards what kind of elightment we need are the same. Yes, we need to change our minds, we need to embrace Mother Nature, because that´s the source, the one and only, and we need to tribute her. Blessings to you and your´s Terri, Wishing you a New and blessed New Year! Gracias!! Thank you!. Marcela
