I was born in the mid 80’s. And so by the time I was old enough for figures, MOTU was pretty much passé and TMNT was taking over the world. Pixel Dan’s enthusiasm for this line is great. Thanks for this video and all you do. It’s great for nostalgia and educating late bloomer fans as well.
Simply AWESOME! Truly some great releases for fans of the original line. Actually would love to see these next to the new 5.5" Thundercat figures. I was going to pass on these guys but now they are a must. Thanks again for the great reviews!
@@yunoyuluvit You may be right. But I think the new generation should stand on its own. The new She-Ra should sink or swim without relying on the past. I absolutely love 80s style toys. But we can't go backwards.

The She Ra is super cool. I’m glad they made her for the He Man line. It’d be REALLY interesting to see the rest of the Princess of Power figures done in the vintage He Man style.
I got these when they were in the 2-packs and I was really disappointed. My He-Man's hips broke off immediately and I never heard back from S7 about a replacement, despite emailing on two separate occasions. I ended up trading them all :'-( I'm glad for the people who got decent figures, but mine really let me down.
Enjoyed the reveiw!!! I am an opener..but I must say..if my He-Mans strap wasn't un-fastened..mine would stay in the pack!!! I really wish these figures had the same thigh joints and the Funko Savage World's figures..I would feel more comfortable playing around with them..but in the end..getting new MOTU figures ROCKS!!! I LOVE THIS LINE!!! Can't wait to see which figures they choose to make after wave 2! Thanks for sharing!!!
The art on the back of Hordak's package is so funny. He is totally focused on He-man despite the fact She-ra is the one supposed to be his nemesis but he totally ignores her and She-ra is tossed aside in the back like saying, wait, im here, look at me! Hahahaha
Hordak’s Head is ENORMOUS. Dan, you even say yourself they didn’t really give him a Filmation head! You said the same about He-Man’s head. I’m not ripping on you, buddy, I’m ripping on Super7 messing MOTU up at every turn. I won’t be keeping my set of 4 I’ve been anticipating so long. Also, the half-swords clip together but not at the tip. Give He-Man dark hair and gold jewelry and he would make a perfect “Italian/Armenian Kidnapper of American College Girls of the Universe!”
He-Man was my fave toy of all when I was a kid. Better than G.I. Joe or transformers or any other toyline! Nice to see that people still care about He-Man!
I'm really ticked off !!! I pre-ordered these figures from Super 7 and still haven't gotten them yet. That would be OK, except I just went to FYE and they had these figures ON THE SHELF !!! WTH !!! They were $19.99 at FYE (For Your Entertainment...a store in the mall in case you don't have one near you), so I would have payed less for these because I wouldn't have had to pay shipping !!! ARGGHHH !!! End of rant. :)
Thanks for making this video it was informative and interesting, I especially like the fact you showed original and this version side by side for comparison. Basically this is the version we should have and would have gotten in the 80s if Filmation didn't simplify it. The original 80s toy release will always be my personal "original " even though it's not screen accurate because that was the way it went down in history and the mark it made on the world. This version is a must have for any fan of the original series along with the 80s release. Thanks again for making this.
@@GustHal That seems slightly odd because besides He-Ro and Eldor, these are basically supposed to be the vintage figures with their Filmation looks. Battle Armors were never in the cartoon, but if there is a buck to be made, they very well may do it.
I had concerns after hearing about the 2-pack figures breaking, but I haven't had anything break on mine. My only real complaints are that its hard to get She-Ra to stand, and both He-Man and She-Ra just seem to barely hold on to their swords, and they can fall out or become knocked out at the drop of a hat. Skeletor has a similar issue holding his staff, but not as bad. I love the "power punch" action. That brings back a lot of memories. Also, the Primal Age DC figures are pretty much in scale with these, which is awesome.
Great review as always! I have my two packs, singles carded and singles loose. I love seeing these fresh again. It's such an awesome blast from the past. I haven't been too rough with the leg joints bc I've seen some break. Some of the plastic is a little questionable to me and I don't want to damage them. I just have that feel with them that I have to handle them carefully. I don't know if that's because I'm used to doing that with vintage or because I'm afraid to break them. I just don't get the same feeling of playability from these. It's like my vintage figures could tolerate more action. Regardless, I love them and they make a great display in the monster classics Grayskull! Looking forward to MAA, Teela and Beast Man next!
I'm very happy you spent so much time on the packaging and enjoyed it so much, but I wish you would have mentioned the work me, The Power And The Honor Foundation and James Eatock did on both packaging and artcard, and, most of all, mention that Errol is back illustrating the top card back illustrations :)
Emiliano, you can't imagine how much I envy you. Being part of anything that is MOTU-related must feel awesome! Seeing that vintage style packaging and art brought so many great memories to my mind. Good job, man!
Great Review! I do rather like these Style figures. I appreciate the fact that Super7 did them up the Filmation Style. Very reminiscent of the cartoon. I use to quite a few of the vintage styles figures that i miss. There certainly are some differences between the New & Vintage. Excellent job with the review over all.
Thanks for showing the articulation, I was concerned they would use those AWFUL rubber bands like they did in the olde times. Not a fan of the very shiny plastic but otherwise, I kinda dig these.
I just got the he man figure. It's the Japan release, so the figure is the same, but he's actually in a box. It has art on it I've never seen before, and weirdly, he's holding his axe in the art, despite not coming with it.
I'm new to collecting the vintage heman toy line only ,as I mainly collect tmnt figures, I'm wanting to purchase a she ra figure, I was wondering wich she ra figure you would choose best to go with the 1980s vintage heman figures, the origins or the super 7 filmation? thank you.
She-Ra is perfect, this is how she should have looked when she was originally released in toy form. I never liked the more Barbie inspired She-Ra. This She-Ra fits in perfect with the original He-man figures :)

I messaged super 7 and have yet to hear anything about shipping on these pre orders. I placed my order in June. I hope they ship soon really bummed about the delay
No comparison time with Funko Savage World/Primal Age. BOO! ;) Just kidding. I only bought an extra Skeletor and He-Man to open and the rest to remain in the box, your review reconfirmed I made the right choice.
Yes my friend I knew about that a week two three weeks ago the He-man that I bought is directly from the cartoon the world should know about that I hope.
I love Skeletor and Hordak, but I don't really care much about Heman. She ras great because she's not too cartoony and she matches perfectly with the original line. I wish they would do more characters in the old style and not just cartoon versions. I've got my fingers crossed for more snake men.
I got a He-man and Skeletor. No real issues except some sloppy paint on the faces. I heated their armor pieces in almost boiling water so I could move them around and give them a snugger fit, and that has worked really well. The one thing that drives me a bit nuts are the hip joints. I am a bit miffed as to why they chose these swivel/hinge hips instead of regular ball and socket joints (like Funko uses). These just seem very finicky, and I had to take a hair dryer to them before I could even get them to move. Now that I have them positioned the way I like I don't think I'll be hinging them in and out at all.
Use a little bit of oil to loosen up the joints a bit. Those little bottles of oil that come with beard trimmer kits work great!! Just put a few small drops in there and it should work a lot better. It also lasts a while too. Maybe a small amount of white lithium grease possibly might be good for longer term use.
Wish we got more figures in this line, like the entire filmation cast. Tri-Klops missing is one of those i would have bought, actually thought he would have made it in this line

The only things missing from these are He Man's sheath and Skeletor's battle axe
