I am facing weird issue with my Bose frames, I think there is a issue with the right side arm / stem. Frames does not work when the right arm is open or extended, it works properly when the arm is in close position. So basically if the right arm is not opened then the frame works properly. Please suggest !!!
My Bose frames have the same issue, took them appart and found the tiny ribbon cable broken, same as shown in the video. I'm now looking for a replacement ribbon cable, otherwise they just became a pair of sunglasses, Lol.
love them so much i bought 3 of these, however all 3 broke down after few months, but bose warranty give 1 to 1 exchange... durability is an issue...consideration...but the sound quality without a doubt superb for bose frames audio....
@@speedyisland421 good luck guys. i don’t know how to fix mine. I actually had mine replaced with a new one coz of warranty but after a few months the same thing happened so this’ll be the last time I’m getting these shit glasses from Bose.
Riibon cable inside could be loose or broken. I have the same issue on mine, they just get charge and could listen when the right was folded. That ribbon ccable is very small and weak.
I'd like a bit more information from this and future teardowns, what's the size of the battery? What is the glue holding it together? How did you perform the teardown? I own a pair of Frames and would like to replace the battery in future so a guide on how to open this up for basic repairs would be useful.
I have two pairs of these. The first pair stopped charging, but the left arm on the second pair cracked at the hinge. Lots of people have reported this problem. What I want to do is replace the left arm with the one from the other pair. I was able to remove the two little screws holding the arm to the hinge, but I need to know how to disconnect the arm from the metal hinge. It is connected by what looks to be a small ribbon cable. Is that plugged into the hinge? How do I remove it and reattach the replacement? Bose is no help at all..... Thanks!
my problem as well. i actually managed to open it but came to a stand still till now where i could not remove the golden nob that connects the arms to the body. i need to be directed on how to remove this golden nob so that i fix the fibre cable which tore apart from the hinge due to constant use. how do i heat it up without burning or spoiling the component? any particular technique?
Thanks for this. My frames died after 2 years and Bose won't repair or replace them, and they discontinued my style, so I'm stuck with my $400 lenses and a dead frame. They offered 20% off a new frame, that cannot take my lenses. I am escalating with Bose now, with high hopes they will step up and repair my frames. Glad I bought Bose, not a foreign knock-off. If not, your video will help me in my own surgery to attempt to repair.
You should do a teardown on the tempo frames specifically. I would subscribe and rate very highly for it. The tempos supposedly have a lot more bass then the altos.
If you pay over $200 for some Bose Frames you should not have to fix them ever. Nice video but you need to show us how to take the Bose frames apart otherwise is worthless.
I'm having a power issue with my Bose rondo glasses I wanted to know what size battery is used in them and if you know where it can be purchased at. If I can get you guys to replace it if possible? I'LL pay
My Bose frame came unaligned and would like to know what screw driver did you use? I bought a glasses repair kit with 32 heads but none of them fit. I contacted Bose and they were not helpful and suggested I get a replacement plan for $185. All I need the right screw driver to loosen the Bose screw. Thank you for your help.
Failing to charge seems to be a common problem for these sunglasses. Had them for 2 years but barely used them. So was disappointed to find out they don't work. It can't connect to online updates and can't be serviced. Expected better quality from Bose
Hey guys, thank you for the awsome content, i would like to ask you a question, what is the name of the little magnets on the frame that the charger get attach to, and where can i find them, i am using tape to keep the charger connected (the magnets on the charger are working) and the one on the frame are absent , thank you a lot
i know i'm super late buut... any one know where i can get a replacement part for that FPC cable?? i got mine open n the cable out but now idk where i can buy just THAT part!!
They worked for the first 2 minutes and then flashed red and white error lights. Not sure why people are hired to smart sunglasses that don’t work but whatever I guess. They’re only $300
Tomorrow Lab thank you and i have a problem with my BOSE FRAME glasses not turning on for a while even when I charge them the little light doesn't even turn on what to do?
Used to think Bose was cutting edge . Then they make a product that makes a ton of money . This Bose. Should float belly up. If they were boycotted maybe they would suddenly care about the inferior product that we all paid for. DeWalt bt. headphones from home Depot have batteries that play over 24 hours. So the name Bose is as good as Fischer Price for quality. I feel betrayed by this situation. And see only boycott.
Well, I’m on here because like many other’s mine broke. To be honest , they were ugly frames.. they should have just made a product that snaps onto the arms of existing sunglasses... less overhead, wider acceptance.
Terrible product. Mine stopped working overnight after 1 year of use. Technical assistance is lame and weak which makes it even more difficult to identify the problem.
I will never buy anything made by Bose again. After just one year these Sunglasses will not charge. Will be flinging them in garbage after spending $200.00 plus on them . Also, last year I spent over $300.00 on the "Bose portable home speaker" which I don't use because the blue-tooth keeps disconnecting and the device constantly needs to be reset back to factory settings. Big issues with Bose design and dependability. What good is excellent sound if their devices don't work properly and fail prematurely?
Also, maybe you could list chips used? Especially main CPU/Radio SoC

Answer quick!! Can I take the arms off the frames like the 2 arms you know? Take them off and put them onto different glasses frames ?????
Maybe no

Mine also died after a few months.
The arms of the glasses are also were the problems are. Mine dont work when they’re open, turns on only when it’s folded
Same yo do you know how to fix em?
Same. Bose what's $150 to replace their faulty stuff. Any means to fix? I'm about to open mine and attempt it.

@@MV_BassCovers yes, brother. Apparently that’s what happened. I don’t know how to fix it so it’s now just a very expensive wayfarer lookalike 🤣
how the hinges work to turn it off when you close them. because now i open my hinges and it turns off . close my hinges and it turn on.

The arms are sealed closed with glue. we suggest applying some heat to warm up the glue, then use a spudger tool to pry it open (carefully!).

Were you able to figure it out? I'm in the same boat.
I broke the end of my arm and was hoping i could replace it... so, as above... did you figure it out?
if you show how to teardown the right side arm . it will be very helpful. mine has som e issues with the cable. thanks

Me too. But these guy should show us how they tore it apart without breaking.

The battery of my Bose Rondo is dead, Which battery do we buy to replace it? the Battery housed in left arm, correct?
any reply here? My frames switch off once I remove the charging cable.

In spite of the poorly spoken grammar, the tear down was very good. Thanks

Could you tell me what size the magnets are in the frames as I’m missing them.
I've lost my charger. What Pins are positive and negative on the charger port of the arm
My dog chewed up part of the frame that holds the lens ,,, is it possible to replace the frame?
What’s the part number on the speakers?

Teardown?!
All the components are already on the table.
You should change the title

Broke just after warranty. Heap of shit
The most failed product I bought this year is BOSE FRAME🥲
