    I have been working with the analogy of thoughts being like clouds when meditating. It takes practice not engaging with the thought. I basically just try to look at it and see it, then just stop acknowledging it. Almost like ignoring it. Easier on some days, harder on others. Thanks for the informative videos.

    I practice with watching my thoughts in meditation. I like the analogy of watching them like clouds. I see the thought come in and acknowledge it is there, then I try not to think about it anymore, almost like ignoring it ( the best way I know how to explain it). Some days are easier than others, but I continue to practice hoping I will get better at it some day. Thanks for all the informative videos.

    Your videos changed my life I'm seeing improvement thanks soo much btw what are the best strategies or recommendations to overcome addiction?

    • @SelfHelpToons
      @SelfHelpToons  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on many factors like the type of addiction and whether there are other mental health issues involved like trauma, anxiety, depression, personality disorders and so on.
      Often treatments tailor strategies based on stages of change, and incorporate CBT and/or DBT to learn to modify thoughts and regulate emotions, avoid and cope with triggers, and set and work towards reasonable goals. I talked about some of this here: th-cam.com/video/JitQP2neMFk/w-d-xo.html
      Many people also find mutual aid groups like AA/NA helpful.

      I kind of beaten many addictions by having a counter and clicking it any time I felt the urge or having a thought about the source of addiction. After clicking the counter ,I immediately changes the thoughts to anything else. This works ,it uproots the addictive thought patterns. Day by day the count will decrease and we will be free from the addiction.

    The video titled "Six Strategies To Reduce Overthinking" focuses on the negative effects of overthinking and suggests ways to reduce this behavior. The speaker notes that overthinking often stems from fear and the desire to control situations. Strategies for reducing overthinking include letting thoughts come and go like clouds on a sky, labeling thoughts to create distance between oneself and them, and becoming more aware of one's thoughts. The 10-second rule, modifying negative thoughts, taking breaks, writing down thoughts, and talking to a friend can also help clear the mind and make it easier to let go of overthinking. Distraction can be used as a temporary tool to reduce overthinking, but the host suggests exploring other strategies to maximize effectiveness.
    00:00:00 In this section, the speaker discusses the negative consequences of overthinking, including experiencing anxiety and stress. He also explains that overthinking often arises out of fear of the unknown and attempting to control a situation. He suggests setting boundaries and limits and engaging in mindfulness techniques to break free from overthinking, and taking action instead of constantly worrying.
    00:05:00 In this section, the speaker discusses strategies for reducing overthinking. One approach is to simply let thoughts come and go like clouds passing through the sky, without trying to hold onto them. Another strategy is to label thoughts, which creates distance between oneself and the thoughts and reduces the tendency to get caught up in them. Additionally, the speaker suggests becoming more aware of one's thoughts as they are happening and consciously deciding whether or not to engage with them. The 10 second rule can also be helpful in pausing and reflecting before becoming overwhelmed by overthinking. Modifying negative thoughts can also make it easier to let them go, but it's important to take breaks when necessary to avoid falling back into overthinking. Writing down thoughts or talking to a friend can also help clear the mind and make it easier to let go of overthinking.
    00:10:00 In this section of the video, the host discusses the use of distraction as a strategy to reduce overthinking. While it can provide temporary relief, relying solely on distractions can be hit or miss, as attention may return to the original thought once the distraction subsides. However, the host suggests that there are other strategies to consider, and the key is to implement them as soon as overthinking occurs in order to maximize effectiveness.
