I can not believe how many have watched my video! I want to apologize for the shaky footage. It was very hard to film in such a small space. BUT, a very kind comment was made regarding it and motion sickness and she recommended I look into a thing called a GIMBAL for stabilization. I have purchased one and now waiting for it to arrive, then I will have to learn it but I LOVE learning new things! Next "tour" type video I will use it and hopefully it will help with the motion. Thank you all for being here, subscribing, commenting and watching to the end! I am Grateful for YOU! 💜

Hi, Jeri! I finally found your tiny house video. It’s a beautiful, beautiful house, I love the decoration, it’s so similar to my own style and I imagine how peaceful it is there.
It’s funny what you Americans consider tiny. In Europe, a regular house is that size. It’s true. Most don’t have that big kitchen. My kitchen is almost half the size of yours. Many bedrooms are really small, like that one, because most people live in apartments and there isn’t much space. I guess Americans are used to huge houses that for us are considered mansions. Only very wealthy families live in big houses in Europe.
Anyway, it’s always nice to see different ways of living, different cultures and traditions.

Hi, I'm glad you found the video! I guess we are spoiled here.. My home in PA is about 1500 sq feet, this one is about 600. I do love it here and it's been pretty queit most days, none of the neighbors are down yet, the kids are still in school. Soon it will be busy busy and I was just saying to Brian that I'll have to move into the kitchen to do the videos. The sun room has really thin walls and you can hear every little noise! thanks for watching, ❤️❤️❤️
Hi again, I enjoyed your tour of your tiny house, we moved into a very small house from a 3600 sq ft home and I so miss my art studio. You inspire me to get moving get creating again. I have a little cabin in the woods but the neighbors are a half a mile away.
I love to take my art stuff with me to the cabin but now I wish I had a tiny house in your park, its only 3000 miles away so my family would not be so happy to move that far but your wonderful space is magnificent. I am gathering material to create some dots thank you very much for inspiring me. We can be neighbors across the way LOL

Your comment is heartwarming! Thank you for your kind words. My girls are VERY talented! My mom and my dad were artists too. Mom watercolor, crocheted hats for the homeless, thousands of them! Dad made gorgeous things with mother of pearl, you might say similar to mosaics. I'll have to show some of his work sometime. When I run out of Dot ideas I'm going to do the circle quilt. 💜💜💜

Wow. Your tour video popped up presumably because I have an interest in tiny homes. After watching I viewed some more of your channel and immediately subscribed. What a wonderful little community! You are really fortunate and I am amazed at how you’ve managed to get a dedicated art studio in your tiny house. I’m doing the same thing with my upstairs bedroom. It’s an old house with a converted attic so i am having fun creating a multi-use space. Even making a space for Art is art lol!
Yes it is! I love decorating my space too! And remember I live here mostly alone, Brian only comes down every 2 weeks or so. So I can SPREAD out and I do! ❤️❤️❤️

What a lovely retreat ypu’ve created! Losing track of time and days…? I do that all of the time! I put it down to being retired. The days ebb and flow. It’s definitely a good thing that I use my alerts on my calendar to remind me of upcoming events. That usually works-well except for a recent theatre event when a friend called to see where I was 30min before curtain . I simply threw on some clothes, and we made it there with time to spare. 😁

I do use my phone to video and so far the easiest has been an arm that is supposed to clamp on the desk but I clamp it on a rotating organizer and weigh down the organizer. It’s a bendable clamp with joints. I light separately. So far this has worked the best for me.
OH I love that you clip it to a Lazy Susan type thing! Do you use a ring light or natural light? Thank you! 💜
I try natural light when I can but mostly my ring…I struggle with lighting as the overhead room light gets in the way!

Wallpaper book. Beware of pre-pasted wallpaper it has antifungal properties that are not good for our skin or to be ingested, this happens if it gets on hands and food id handled before hands are washed. So best to make sure that any wallpaper used is untreated.

My craft stuff is stuffed everywhere. I love your craft supplies sheds. We have a normal mobile home tiny yard. I love everything you have. The walted ceilings are cool. Our ceilings are very low. The entire place is very old and coming apart. Its the least expensive place we could get. Rent in Florida is over the top. I'd love to have such an exquisite home. Love to see the yard after the plants fill in. The pop lid wind chime is awesome. That quilt is awesome!! Huge HUGS! Namesta 🐞🐞🐞

What art supplies are you able to store in the outdoor storage buildings? I live in a tiny lake house, over the water, and would love to store things in an outdoor room on the deck.
I have mostly my metal stuff and also my supplies to do eco printing. I'll share that in another video.

I noticed that you have hydrangea growing in a container. It works out well? I was thinking about getting a hydrangea and now I really want one knowing I can use a container to grow it in. Oh Susan! I'm so glad you would want to work along!! And yes, my hydrangea has been in that container for YEARS! You just have to keep water on them in the summer and also they do not love sun, they do best in shade or just a little sun. If you wind up putting them in sun just make sure you keep them well watered. Thanks for being here! ox 💜
ooo I'm in love with your home. I am sensitive to motion so I had to stop watching. :( I don't know how much a stabilizer is, but that would be an awesome addition to your filming. I got to see your front room though.
Thanks for attempting to watch... I am sensitive to that as well, next time I'll cover the camera when I turn around, don't know why I didn't think of doing that for this video. I am sorry. I think it was worse because the place is so small and I had to do a lot of pivoting. I'll put a few timestamps in the description so you can go right to specific projects I showed. 💜
@@JeriBellini that's sweet. :) it's more than just turning though, even when someone walks and films I feel it. It's a curse haha. I know many TH-camrs have this small handheld tool (called a stabilizer I think) that's not big or expensive. It just takes the wobble and sway away when you move the camera while filming. Just a thought. I think that maybe, over time of you filming in your cute little house, I will get to see all the spaces. Maybe start the video in different rooms so this princess, haha, can see more of your adorable place.

I just discovered you on your dots slow stitching video, and then this video popped up on the side as well. Finally TH-cam threw me a suggestion that wasn't entirely bizarre! 😁
I do crafting, and watch a lot of crafting videos, but I also watch a lot of tiny house tours as well, as I'm obsessed with them. Aside from that I watch a lot of true crime videos, so if you wish to murder some lone transient camper and film it for TH-cam, I'll have discovered my ultimate channel in one! 😂🤣😅
One of my favourite tiny house channels is Recreational Resort Cottages based in Texas, because having watched a gazillion, theirs seem to be really well built and fitted out. But saying that, it doesn't mean I love every floorplan they offer or think they've used the space as efficiently as I think they could have.
I'm English, born, raised and live in England. I've never been to America but one of the things that hits me is just how different our houses are. Not just in terms of size although that's typically the most obvious difference. Obviously here in England a lot of people live in Victorian houses, and I think a lot of American viewers misinterpret that as Victorian "style" houses. Nope, they actually are homes built 150+ years ago!
Many are terraced also, in other words adjoining each other and typically limited in space inside. Again many Americans will exclaim things like: "why is the washine machine in the kitchen?" It's quite simple, the houses were typically built to house industrial workers and their families, so they were never designed to be breathtaking or extravagant. They were designed to be practical, safe, and sturdy, and a way to entice workers to a city setting back in the day when people were typically employed rurally or locally, farm labour, fishermen, or hand crafts such as woodturning or roof thatching.
The industrial revolution brought in the opportunity to mass produce things and run much larger factories, mills, or speed up mining, all of which required staff on a much larger scale, but of course they had nowhere to live. And so the business owners would build tons of homes, small and perfectly adequate, strong brick structures that were warm and dry, and probably a lot more fancy than the homes they were currently in. Of course they still charged them rent however, deducted from their pay. 🙄
When they were built there were no bathrooms installed, LET ALONE a laundry room! Early Victorian England stank to high Heaven I have no doubt! 😳 But it's only because bathrooms weren't yet invented. Most water was hand pumped or drawn from a well, and toilets were outside until piped water and indoor plumbing was invented.
The first "luxury" to be brought inside was the toilet. Which makes sense as only the wealthy could afford to have this done initially. If it meant they had a private indoor toilet and didn't have to go outside in all weathers, then that was amazing for the rich people! It wouldn't occur to them to have baths plumbed in at this point, as indoor hot water was not yet invented, and besides, their maids were the ones running up and down the stairs with pans of water boiled on the stove, to fill their bathtubs for them, which didn't inconvenience the wealthy anyway!
So when toilets were first brought inside, they had to figure out where to put them. The most common space to use was the linen closet as it was a small enclosed private cubby area. They would have extra chests or chests of drawers in the bedrooms, and move the linens into those to be stored. Once the toilet was in place with all it's plumbing installed, being as it was the ONLY room in the house with an indoor water plumbing system, the door of COURSE needed a sign on it to point out how wonderful it was. It had water, it was formerly a linen closet, so it became a Water Closet, or W.C. which is still found on toilet doors today.
Incidentally, whilst I'm on plumbing, I'll explain something else that often confuses Americans about our homes. After the toilet being brought indoors, the next thing to be brought in was fresh water. Not as fresh as today's water, but it would be piped in to save the maids going to the well or pump outside. The pipework from outside was fitted over the kitchen sink, so they suddenly had cold water running from a tap.
Later on, when they discovered how to heat water without needing saucepans, they had to find a way to pipe it in. It couldn't come through the cold tap pipes, because the cold water would cool down the hot. So instead a tank was installed, usually in the loft, pipework took the cold water and diverted some directly to the tank, and the tank would be like a big saucepan, heating the water inside. The tank then had separate pipework coming off it, to allow the water to come out of a separate tap, so the kitchen sink now had hot AND cold taps.
That is why we typically have two taps in our homes still! Yes of course since then, boilers have been invented that heat water instantly, but why replace a whole plumbing system if it still works? That's an AWFUL LOT of indoor walls, ceilings, floorboards or loft joists that need to be torn out to replace the existing system, plus sinks and baths to replace that only have one tap hole instead of two. A massive and hugely expensive, not to mention messy, inconvenient project to undertake, for the sake of replacing two taps with one? Who in their right mind would do that?
American homes are mostly made of wood and typically don't last anywhere near as long as ours do. If they fall into disrepair it's cheaper to pull them down and rebuild from new, in which case it makes perfect sense to fit in an updated plumbing system right from the start - which is of course what is done with new build homes over here too. But stone materials last so much longer than wood, and wood needs regularly treating and repainting to protect it, which often families are too busy or simply can't afford to do. I mean our castles are still (mostly) intact right? The church in my town centre is dated to the 12th century! (Years 1100 - 1199)
So because of the longevity of our buildings, it's very normal to have features in a home that date right back to when it was built, right up to modern day. And two taps is a very typical reminder of that. Many people may have mixer taps, but that's just a cosmetic upgrade. Technically the tap still attaches to both sides of the sink, channelling the hot and cold water to come out through one central spout, with two levers, knobs or left-right dials to operate the hot or cold waters. They LOOK like a modern upgrade, but the giveaway is that the mixer tap is still attached to a sink or bath that has TWO holes in. Therefore the house itself is still operating on the original plumbing system of cold water pipes and separate hot water pipes.
Many of us still have parts of our plumbing system that is original, although most homes have of course have had lead pipes replaced with plastic. More recently in fact, many people have changed their single tap back to two, for a realistic romantic Victorian vibe, particularly in the bathroom if they install a claw foot bathtub. Ornate gold tabs are very trendy for a lot of people either wanting to create a Victorian feel, or if renovating an original Victorian home sympathetically. Revealing boarded up original fireplaces and wall mouldings as well, to bring the original home back to life.
So that is why our homes are typically smaller, because they were built for different living. Three bedroom homes eventually became two bedroom, as one was given up to become a bathroom. And of course , washing machines went into the kitchen. It's also very limiting on extending such homes as you'd end up in the next door neighbour's lounge! Plus we have a fifth of your population, living on an island about the size of ONE of your 50 states! I think Alabama is the closest in size for comparison! The equivalent of the whole population of the USA, living in only 5 states!
*PART TWO*
So yeah, we still have so much beautiful lush countryside, lakes, forests, meadows, mountains and glorious coastline - which we wouldn't want to remove, simply to have bigger homes. It makes sense that American homes are large because it's such a huge country, but our pretty landscape is not worth sacrificing for more house space. Besides, a home should be a base from which to explore imo. I'd rather be outside when it's warm and not cooped up indoors, even if it was as huge as Buckingham Palace. The beach, blue skies, flowers, birds chirping and all our historical sites, houses, churches, cathedrals and castles are far more beautiful than even the most expensive designer home interiors.
A lot of Americans have since downsized or gone tiny, because they've realised that life should be lived and enjoyed. A home needs to provide shelter, comfort, somewhere to sleep, cook, eat and bathe - and anything extra is not really necessary. The Tiny Home Movement is a huge thing over there, whereas it's not here because most of us live in modest homes to start with. What I love about tiny homes is the clever use of untapped space. That gives me ideas in my own home despite mine not being quite as tiny as yours. Mine is probably double the size of yours I'm guessing. I find it very interesting to see American people going tiny, because it's really a bit deal to you to do. Most of you have large homes and mountains of "stuff" inside, it's actually fascinating to me to watch.
I love seeing tours of all homes in fact, as my mind enjoys imagining me in that space, how I would decorate it, how I would use the rooms, and what things I'd do differently. I just love houses in general, of all sizes. If I draw something whimsical my go-to thing would be a house. I love dollhouses too. I'm currently transforming a garish pink dollhouse into a rustic 17th century, thatched witch's cottage. I'm also sewing a dollhouse as a gift. I love birdhouses too and have one in mind with the bundle of wood I have. I'm also planning a row of ornamental rustic beach houses in my garden, open inside, so small creatures or birds can use them as shelters. I'm just in love with houses!
I enjoy tours of American mobile homes too, especially renovated ones. Or the bigger manufactured homes. We really have very few of such houses here. The thing I picture most in my imagination, when seeing a tiny home or mobile home for that matter, is how I would need to alter a few bits and bobs to suit the living I'm used to. How I could make it "work" for me.
For example, most American mobile or tiny homes have a huge front porch with the front door. Lovely! BUT there's no way that's my FRONT! I'd get them to deliver it and back it into place the opposite way round. I know it's normal for you to barbecue out the front, or sit on a porch swing, but the thought of doing that facing the main front road, with every Tom, Dick and Harry strolling by, is a very firm, very English, Hell No! 😂
We are very friendly people, but do not like to be encroached upon. If we're gardening out front it's typical that passers by will pause for chit chat, or for me to stroke their dog etc, and that's lovely...but only because when I'm done tidying up out there, I can retreat back into my house and shut the door. If I'm sitting out on my porch I'd want to be looking at my back garden, not buses and cars driving past. If I was sitting on my porch and parcel deliveries were coming and going, schoolkids were playing out, and random people chit chatting I'd feel like I was caught in crosshairs! A red dot on my head from snipers on all sides. I also could not imagine being out there grilling and sitting at the table with family and friends in front of everyone. I'd want to do that out back, surrounded by my garden, backed by a seven foot fence! Not being overheard, overwatched, but keeping my life private. If you're not invited in, there's a reason.
So I'd definitely put the porch at the back, meaning the front door becomes my back door, which is also perfect for leaving the door open for the dog to go out or grandchildren in and out, and I know they are safe, secluded and not at risk of someone snatching them or perving over them splashing in the paddling pool wearing a swimsuit! The grandchildren obviously not the dog! 😂 It means I can sit on my porch relaxing without being disturbed, or be with people and chat amongst ourselves privately.
And plus I hate a front door straight into my lounge. It's that privacy thing again. Like you said you were showing us round AFTER you'd tidied up. But with your front door straight into the lounge, you've got little choice but to reveal your mess to any random person on the doorstep. They can see right into your LIFE, how you live, who's in there with you, someone could be laying down on the sofa feeling unwell, it could even be a burglar come to take note of where you TV, computer or expensive ornaments are. No one needs to see any of that unless I've invited them in. I'd want my front door to reveal me, standing in a small hallway with coats hanging and a shoe rack visible, nothing more. So I figure out where in the home I could fit that second door.
What I really like about yours is the front kitchen, and also the hallway. The front kitchen allows for a full width kitchen that takes up only one end wall. So many times they put in a galley kitchen opening directly into the bathroom! Ewww! I've seen a very similar model to yours called The Tumbleweed, that has the kitchen, lounge and centre front door almost exactly like yours, but the stairs to the loft come out pointing at the sofa, instead of running along the side wall like yours. The bedroom door is then beside the stairs and the bathroom door is to the end of your sofa.
Again ewww! That's gives no privacy to guests using the bathroom, emitting bathroom noises, and coming out to face you sitting in the lounge, having heard everything! They'd feel so embarrassed. Your tiny hallway actually serves a massive purpose in many ways. It gives greater privacy to the bathroom as it's door is opposite the sofa rather than next to it. The bathroom door also opens into that hallway, not into the lounge or kitchen. The hallway gives you a sense of transitioning from living space to sleep space, as the bedroom door opens into the hallway again, instead of directly into another room. And the bathroom between the lounge and bedroom serves as a buffer for noise, if a partner wants to stay up to watch TV, whilst you want to go to bed.
I've actually never seen one of those hallways in a tiny house before, without it being in a foot traffic area. No one needs to go in there except to sleep or use the bathroom, whereas usually those type of hallway cupboards are within the kitchen or off the lounge, so you could go to get something out, and have someone needing to squeeze past right at that moment! Typical timing, especially for kids! Bit like why they always need to talk to you urgently the very second you're on the phone! 😂
I see with your sheds as you come in you've kind of blocked off your front, established it as a "My Space" area. Not somewhere to sit and chat to the world passing by. You've got your little bird house area and side patch along the sunroom as your actual garden, and I noted the importance of your point, when you talked about the area between you and next door, but BEYOND your garden area, as being an acceptable mingling space. That stood out to me for all of my Englishness as already mentioned! That is exactly what my fear would be, being outside in the open and people thinking it's ok to just start intruding on your space, peace or privacy. You've made it clear that within that boundary, you are on YOUR space, not OURS!!!
These little things you've described here and there are exactly the same type of thoughts I have. You're clearly happy to be visible at an art show or on your channel, but when not wearing your "work face"...you want to be left alone. You're so lucky to have your own dedicated crafting "house". It's adorable and stuffed with so much whimsy, cosy, quirky and beautiful things. And all those yummy baskets and supplies! ME WANT THEM! 😍 I just love it! A tiny house for crafting has got to be the best type of house of all. The only thing missing from this tour was not seeing how close you are to the beach, my favourite place ever. Houses, beach and crafting all in one channel! Pretty much perfection in my opinion!
Except missing the true crime... Hmmm maybe someone will steal your bottle cap wind chime, and then we can figure out which transient camper did it! Then plot twist...it was your dearest friend two doors up! 😱
