Those are neat in my opinion. Check the back side where the fuel tubes turn to the front. There should be a removable cap on each tube. Behind that cap is a brush looking screen inside the tube. Check that it is there and not rusted away. It's my understanding this is both filter and flash suppressor. It prevents a flash back to the tank. There are many resources on the Internet for these stoves. And yes, they will even burn cheap cologne. 😉🤣
