If i Can recommond someting to landsape photographer, Its a Golf Umbrella, the Big and heavy one, It reduces the need for a pop-up cover for your gear as its sturdy and big, I yes u guessed it, It handles wind really good. Another tip is , use and old jackets head cover for the camera,Warm, Goretex,Wet Resistant and it protects your camera. and on that topic add a GoPro for usage in rain, snow or cold so u don't break your gear for nothing.
2 great images. No easy filming in this episode. Timing in everything along with planned luck. Tip on your fuse blowing... Could be the HID style bulbs you have causing the problem.
Thomas: *makes video about northern parts of Scotland and even makes the effort to go find the most beautful parts* Me: I honestly can appreciate even the simple edits of Thomas walking transition clips. A barren path in the woods. It's quiet, wind in the air. I...honestly don't know how to explain the feeling. One just needs to experience it for themselves to appreciate the magic of Scotland's beautful nature
I'm no photographer, I never intend to be either. I came across your channel when I was watching Murray's video of you both traveling the Isle of Sky, i thought "I don't know this guy, but I get to watch the video again from a different point of view, so I'll give it a watch" Since then, you have become my most watched TH-camr by far!! I know nothing of the equipment you use, or half of the terminology you use, but I absolutely love your adventures and look forward to each Photo you share. Can't wait for the next video ❤️
Please don't apologize for the quality of your video or anything else. I'm sitting by the fire watching and learning from you. Thank you for all of your effort product.
I really love the pano shot, it just feels like it captures so much of what I love about Scotland in one image, the rugged natural beauty that is worth waiting to see even if only in a brief glimpse before being claimed again by the weather
Thomas, Please take this as a supreme compliment. You are the Bob Ross of landscape photography. Your optimism; your love of nature; your patience; and your adaptability are inspirational.
Give this man a show! Imagine the things he could do with a full crew that he leads. Wild adventures and maybe even do adventure with guests. Oh, hmm, maybe kind of like Anthony Bourdain. He visits other local photographers and joins them on a little outdoor journey to enjoy nature, exchange stories, share knowledge. Yeah, I would definitely like to be a crew member on the show.
Sheer commitment and assessed risk taken in bad weather to capture those beautiful landscapes are great, but the beautiful feeling is without camera enjoying the cold chilly snowy vibes out there alone is amazing...Only those goes will knows 🙏✌👍
Another wonderful adventure but I had just had to leave a comment to say how beautiful that panoramic shot of the mountains is. I can totally imagine that printed, in a frame and hanging on a wall. :-)
I LOVE that shot you finally put up in this video, Thomas. Something so moving about it. Especially knowing your "patience" for getting that shot. Awesome. But what is the deal with your headlight fuses!??! I've never seen that before. And to hear that you've had that problem "once before" makes me nervous. That should not be a fail point of your vehicle!
My wife and my ancestors were from Scotland and England and I hope one day to get there. In the meantime I’ve got you to live vicariously through!!!!! For that I must Thank You immensely!!!!!!
I've said this before but I do admire your efforts in the film making. Those set up shots for driving away in the snow (knowing you had to reverse to collect the camera!) Top work Tom, enjoyed the video as always
It's easier on a multiday trip like this, because it's very clear that I'm there to work and have nothing else to do. So, putting in the extra effort makes sense. If I'm close to home and out for the afternoon, I become far more lazy.
I love all of your videos. But the ones of you in the Lake District and Scotland are my favorite. There’s just a nice calm vibe to them, even amongst the chaos you’re facing in the video. Great images as always!
Thought that into music sounded familiar. I used it for one of my hikes. Thanks for sharing those beauty spots Thomas of where my family is from! Imagine me with your accent, that'd be awesome. Come to Canada for some new areas of amazing beauty, some of which are shown on my @headspacehiker channel.💗
Haha - “remote”, “30 - 40 miles without seeing anyone”. Not quite Western Australia Thomas, but then again we lack the snow and the spectacular mountains & landscape. On one trip here I did a dirt road which was about 300 km. I saw two vehicles, one of which was a breakdown truck. At least it wasn’t in the 40 degree heat of summer. I miss Scotland so beautiful ❤️
I really appreciate your videos because you are very transparent about difficulties and issues or mistakes which makes the rest of us feel a lot better about the mistakes we make lol so thank you for being you
I am amazed at how much open space there is in the UK. I have a tough time finding scenes not ruined by houses other visual clutter along the US coastal States.
Love that you’re wearing one of our Aussie Quicksilver surfer T shirts in a snow blizzard. 🤣 Seriously you landscape photography vloggers work so hard to get your content out. We’re booked to drive around Scotland in September this year. Can’t wait. Great images as usual.
Great stuff. Love how blasé you are about the mountain panorama - it would have been a ‘lifetime’ shot for a lot of us. Just another image in your reckoning. Thanks for taking us along.
I Was just typing a comment that the composition with the busy foreground would have been great as an x-pan format comp! And then you did exactly that! Great shot, man!
I'm so sad. I missed pre ordering the vol 2 book. As always your videos and photos are spectacular. I've missed going out and taking my own. Life hasn't allowed me, hopefully soon. Cheers!
Awesome video, love the panorama 11:22! Also some really nice cinematic b-roll of you driving (the balance between ambient and artificial light really does the trick)
Thomas, you’re just bloody brilliant. I could go into all the details around why but I’ll just keep it simple, you’re one of the best creators on this platform. 👏🏼
What a awesome video to watch after work, to keep this quality and material week in week out always amazes me , so enjoyable to watch and learn from, thank you
Hi, thanks for the video. I would prefer to go to Scotland to take pictures now. The panorama is wonderful. The conditions there are really very adventurous, but what happened the next day... no comment. I wish good light from the Czech Republic!👍🙏 Sorry for the translation, I used Google translator. Břeťa
Great panoramic photo of the mountains. While I was watching I was wondering why you were trying to include the lake in the composition but not only the mountains. Then came the panorama, and it is absolutely beautiful
Once again Thomas you have done a spectacular job of bringing us along on your adventure! It always makes me smile when your struggles with weather and conditions and light become an obvious frustration to you, but the way you honestly present them is so refreshing and truly makes me feel so much more of the experience! I love your photography, and even more I love coming along on your photography adventures. Keep on trekking and clicking!
Haha, my frustrations with the weather are ever present. Sometimes I wish I lived in a predictably desert, but that would be boring after a while. Thanks for your kind comment, it means a lot 👍

Fuses: the wisdom of thinking ahead.
Great to see a QUICKSILVER SURF COMPANY shirt (an original Aussie surf brand) floating around in northern Scotland!
Amazing how I feel everytime Thomas upload something. I know this gonna be a real-time like experience with whatever this guy does.
What a compliment. Thanks a lot.
Agree!!!!
Wednesday at 6 o' clocks a highlight of the week for sure.
Stunning pano!
The most beautiful bird is hope, it never stops in your heart.
I think you would find Ardnamurchan very photogenic.!!...📸😉📷
Crazy! Awesome Pictures... Great WORK 👌
Best video in a while - well done
2 great images. No easy filming in this episode. Timing in everything along with planned luck. Tip on your fuse blowing... Could be the HID style bulbs you have causing the problem.
That shot of the mountain range is absolutly fantastic!!
Thomas Heaton + Scotland = WINNER!
Throw snow in and I can't think of anything better!
my god that panoramic is just gorgeous. Even tho it's a still you can just feel how the mist is flowing over the mountains.
You can almost feel the elements hearing the pitter / patter of the sleet and rain in the background. Great video.
Fantastic video! We are happy to be your weather companion and see you make good use of our WeatherRadar! :)

I always look forward to your videos, not only for the breathtaking vistas, but the time you spend in your van. It looks so cozy!
I gasped when I saw the light hit those mountains, closest thing to perfection ive seen in a minute
Great video and some beautiful images Thomas. I loved the pano of the mountain peaks in the sunlight.
Amazing final shot!
Have u ever thought about shooting in the USA, u would luv it the diverse landscapes are amazing and such a wide range!
I'm no photographer, I never intend to be either. I came across your channel when I was watching Murray's video of you both traveling the Isle of Sky, i thought "I don't know this guy, but I get to watch the video again from a different point of view, so I'll give it a watch"

Can't wait for the next video ❤️
Loved the video, must have been very trying in those conditions..loved the pano shot...keep em coming Thomas..😁👍
Wow... that pano at 11:27 is absolutely fantastic. Sometimes it makes sense to not focus on the video when something that magical appears!
Ah man. This is so exciting! That mountain shot was jaw dropping!
What an amazing video Tom, I love the panoramic photo, nicely done. cheers
Wow love the Pano. The light was perfect ❤️
...and we got bonus automotive maintenance vid😆
Looking forward to next week's episode.
I enjoy watching your videos, especially for the open and honest way of presenting. You are authentic and that is a joy to watch.
That pano caught me by surprise, it even made me emotional looking at it! Such a brilliant capture!
Please don't apologize for the quality of your video or anything else. I'm sitting by the fire watching and learning from you. Thank you for all of your effort product.
The panoramic shot with the brief light is fabulous!
A shower cap (cheap one nicked from a hotel) is perfect to cover your camera when it’s raining/snowing. I always have one in my bag
I really love the pano shot, it just feels like it captures so much of what I love about Scotland in one image, the rugged natural beauty that is worth waiting to see even if only in a brief glimpse before being claimed again by the weather
I think you have described Scottish photography perfectly. Most of the time, you're given only a glimpse.
Stunning pano Tom. I hope you get that to your gallery soon, as I will be buying it.
The pano was amazing !
Wow, that’s just wow and that weather looks cold. I love these insights, warts and all, plus some ideas to think about. 👍👏

That panoramic photo of the four brief peaks is astonishing - possibly my most favourite photo of yours!
Thought for sure you'd grab those twisted trunks at 6:00. Stunning opportune shot at 11:30!
The pano would have to be one of my favourite photos I’ve ever seen from your videos 👍🏻
I LOVE that shot you finally put up in this video, Thomas. Something so moving about it. Especially knowing your "patience" for getting that shot. Awesome. Incredible panoramic. Wow, looks like it was a great trip in the winter weather!
It was. I can't wait to start editing the rest of the trip. Each day gets better.
@@ThomasHeatonPhoto can’t wait to see the rest of the trip then!
Wow ! The amount of work behind this video and the result is fantastic! Bravo Thomas Heaton !
Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
My wife and my ancestors were from Scotland and England and I hope one day to get there. In the meantime I’ve got you to live vicariously through!!!!! For that I must Thank You immensely!!!!!!
Wow, Thomas. The panaroma @11.23min was simply jaw dropping.
Wow, the Pano shot is super! 👍
Just what I needed after 60 hours of work. Thank you sir!
That's a long week!
That close up photo of the three peaks is beautiful. ❤️

So it’s a photography and automotive channel now.. lol.
This car guy approves.
Great video! Love your stuff brother.

Thomas these videos are a godsend - they give me a clarity of mind from my hectic days. Craftsmanship 📸

I live here and this video really reflects the beauty of the area. Top marks.😃👍👍👍👍
The light on the mountain
That was an absolutely gorgeous panorama! :D
I am amazed at how much open space there is in the UK. I have a tough time finding scenes not ruined by houses other visual clutter along the US coastal States.
I can't believe you manage to do all that in those conditions and film it too. Incredible patience and perseverance Thomas.
Excited to watch this series. Well done.
A photographer and a mechanic! Another great video as always. Thank you.
I always watch your vids on my home Cinema. Your images and drone shots look so epic on the big screen. Bravo. 👏
man, what a great start to the adventure, lucky you had those spare fuses, looking forward to the next instalment already
You and me both! Thought the trip was over before it started.
Yup, surely it's a matter of time...at least you DID get that one fleeting shot that was quite nice!
Love that you’re wearing one of our Aussie Quicksilver surfer T shirts in a snow blizzard. 🤣 Seriously you landscape photography vloggers work so hard to get your content out. We’re booked to drive around Scotland in September this year. Can’t wait. Great images as usual.
2:59, moment of subscription. Carry on!
Again I thought your pano was absolutely beautiful!
How lovely, really want to explore Assynt again. Magnificent use of the limited light. 👍👍

That panoramic of the mountain peaks was so awesome. Glad you got to shoot it.
that ‘good’ photo is really really good.
Thomas, you’re just bloody brilliant. I could go into all the details around why but I’ll just keep it simple, you’re one of the best creators on this platform. 👏🏼
That pano of the mountains is killer, love it.
Fantastic Panorama Thomas, your amazing eye for an image and hard work and perseverance really paying off.
Not even a minute in but I know it's gonna be great - my favourite landscape photographer in my favourite place ❤️

The pano photograph is beautiful. Took my breath away. Looking forward to the remaining Scotland videos!
Břeťa
this seems like a landscape made for a large format pano camera
Great panoramic photo of the mountains. While I was watching I was wondering why you were trying to include the lake in the composition but not only the mountains. Then came the panorama, and it is absolutely beautiful
Mate, that pano of the mountains, tho. X-EP-SHUN-L
Stay safe Thomas - hope you're ok in all that weather, can't wait to see next week's video.
Once again Thomas you have done a spectacular job of bringing us along on your adventure! It always makes me smile when your struggles with weather and conditions and light become an obvious frustration to you, but the way you honestly present them is so refreshing and truly makes me feel so much more of the experience!
