    For a song that took them to number 1, and that Rossi did not care about playing it. He has now taken it to another level. Brilliant.👍

    Unfortunately, they were not effective in America. A very good Status Quo tribute band that is determined, brave, crazy and has a strengthened sound can achieve this if they have strong supporters. Maybe they can do what the original Quo couldn't. Because Quo's hit songs are very likely to become even more successful worldwide. There is great potential for further success with these hit songs and this music.

      I suspect that Quo would have been more successful in the US if they'd thrown some guitar solos and heavy riffs in. America's always been big on guitar heroes - especially in the early 70s, when Quo were trying their hand. Lynyrd Skynyrd had 3 or 4 guitarists - depending on what day of the week it was!
      British rock bands blazing a huge swathe across the States at the time included Sabbath, Deep Purple and Zep. All dripping with long rambling epics combined with bizarre lyrics that caused a stir with conservative parents, huge riffs and virtuoso solos.
      Poor old Quo with their fairly basic, amiable 3 minute radio-friendly 12 bar songs just didn't really fit in at the time!

      Funny , no thumbs up , it's not all about slick , frame has never claimed to be any good , I refer to many interviews . They've never been polished , just good time jumping up and down

      It is difficult for Rick and Alan to return.... for obvious reasons, to say that there are tribute bands that are more eager... in short, long live Status Quo and its different formations

      I love the lengthened down down but wish paper plane and bye bye Johnny was in the set. I love 20 wild horses live so that kind of makes up for it. Well done for keeping on rocking.

    It annoys me that when a band member is no longer there (Rick) that the replacement thinks he can dress like him and use the same gear. It is so disrespectful and what a tribute band would do

    • @hey1908
      @hey1908 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He's not dressing like him or using the same gear. Heck, he doesn't even move like him. Richie is doing a great job with Quo and he even sometimes pays homage to Rick at the end of songs that were written by him. Please double check these sort of things before trying to put people down for things which aren't true. Have a good day

      In this version, the original spirit and magic of the song is gone. I guess bassist John Edwards didn't like this innovation. John was in a bit of a pop mood between 1986-90, he wasn't very proficient. But from 1991 on, he became a good rocker. It suits Quo.

    This is not the ''Down Down'' we know. The changes have not been good at all. The intro of the piece is too long with unnecessary strums. In the middle of the song, there are tedious repetitions like a broken record.

      is this a joke?

    • @ASokyanus
      @ASokyanus 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@harleyseal4556 No, it's not a joke. The original song, the one we know and are used to, is better. I didn't like this version. Even the bass player didn't like it. It's obvious from his body language.

      Why can't Rossi improvise. it's his song at the end of the day and he can do as he pleases and thankfully the bass playing at the end has be changed.

      @paulkenney4021So you don't like the live versions of 4500 times or Roadhouse Blues? I think you might enjoy the Ramones instead, but these guys have been known for their long jams since the early 70s.
