dankeschön fur die Hilfe. If I’ve only been learning german for three months, do you think I could comprehend the contents of your beginner book or should I come back to it later?

The beginner book (A1) is written for those with zero German knowledge. The Elementary book (A2) is the follow up to the beginner one and might be better if you already know some German.

So we can use da und wo even without prepositions?

How do you know which preposition to use. In one of your examples, you used dazu meaning ‚with that‘. Why would you use dazu instead of damit?

You should name the example so that it is easier to actually answer you. You probably meant the sentence "Ich hätte gern eine Bratwurst und noch eine Portion Pommes dazu.". Damit is not correct in this sentence. The sentence means, that you get one plate of Bratwurst and one plate of Pommes. Dazu kinda indicates that you add something TO the order (did you see what I did here? The same is true in English. You don't add something with the order.) The fries do not come along with the Bratwurst. If you want to express that, then you need to say "Ich hätte gern eine Bratwurst mit Pommes." or as a German would shorten it "EIne Bratwurst mit Pommes, bitte.".
To your first question: You use the preposition that expresses what you want to express and you need to learn what the meaning or idea of German prepositions are.
