That can be so stressful. Put some air tags on the cats, since the construction guys are opening doors. Bar stools near the long kitchen counter, would make a great table 👍🤠. It’s gonna look great.

I really love your house except for the laundry room being on the second floor I would had it's on the first floor and I do believe I would had the floors and walls inlay with Concrete n marble to stop flooding We deal with lots in Southeast Louisiana with heavy rains thunderstorms tropical storms n hurricanes n we ALWAYS learning better ways to PREVENT n STOP Damages But we really love your house

Going through hardships in life is character building, it makes us all better people. Sometimes mistakes and failures are better lessons than learning things the easy way.Maybe move the laundry room to the ground floor and have the walls and floors inlaid with concrete to stop flooding like someone suggested. Current situation may not seem like fun, but this experience might give you the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the other parts of your house you haven't used as much before. That's a plus. Also making changes to your home now may be fruitful for the future. With adverse and unforeseen weather conditions due to climate change you may be weather proofing your home against these damages that may seem so unlikely to happen but actually is more likely to now than ever. It will keep your family safe for now and the future. You have will a sanctuary. Maybe that's why this has happened. Allah knows best. Thank you for ideas for us too here in Minnesota.. we missed being hit by the Iowa tornado last night in Greenvielle Iowa we are so cloes to that town and my heart goes out to them. I knew when it hit as the skies were green and the concussion was bad... also knew when the old church in FARIBAULT down the road where my son went to the Mn State academy for the Blind was hit by the lightening..... we all here just prayed as we were told to seek shelter well Iam on the second floor here so no where to go.... the tornado passed us by and went north of us..
