- Rugby league lost a titan this weekend with the devastating news that Rob Burrow had lost his battle with Motor Neurone Disease. This week on The Last Tackle we pay tribute to the Leeds Rhinos icon.
A two-time Challenge Cup winner, Burrow’s presence will be sorely missed when Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors collide at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening. In this latest installment, we’ll also be looking ahead to that massive showdown.

RIP Rob, what a man, what a legend and his kids and wife and family have been so brave . I hope luck shines brightly over them all because they deserve it
Rob was proof that with bravery, determination, complete belief, no fear and natural ability in abundance it doesn't matter that you're not 6 feet 4. He was an incredible RL player, scored loads of amazing tries and was truly inspirational. God bless you Rob.
A fine example to any young sportsman or woman who aspires to battle against adversity on and off the field. RIP Rob.

I remember seeing Rob in a wheelchair at a game and assumed he'd sustained a severe injury from playing rugby. When I found out why he was in that wheelchair I was horrified. Rob's legacy is tremendous. His children will be going through hell right now; I hope they realise their dad was someone special; very special.
Rob Burrow MBE 1982-2024 Leeds Rhinos and England Rugby 🏉 🏴🇬🇧😭 League LEGEND. I will admit I'm more of an equestrian man however human dignity prevails and he is a HERO FOREVER. Thats all i can say.
