From my experience and from what im reading, andis, especially the outliners and T outliners are extremely unreliable. Some get lucky but after a yr or 2 they will just brick themselves. Love wahl tho.
Tough question 🤔 for fine vellus hair (fuzzy peach 🍑 hair) I feel like the Detailer does better👍 and the T-outliner makes for light work on medium to thick hair 💯 , but the choice is ultimately yours and how you work your trimmer 🤞👏
@@dolobigsolo4232 thanx for the response. My t outliners blade got damaged and im in that part of Africa where supply for replacement blades is not easily available. Thats why im asking if the wahl t wide can fit. They are the only blades i found after searching
I like how you say the outliner blade is sturdy and a beast, yet I've chipped like 4 of them 😭😭 idk what's wrong with me! But it made me hate the machine so I sold it! I use the detailer now and love it
I've been asking around about the durability of the detailers by Wahl.. it could be just some bad rumors in the beginning about the detailers which they we're saying that if you drop it one time it's over...something about the plastic inside holding the blade..maybe they had improved on that cause it was in the beginning.
Same thing happened with my andis t outliner n it was lightly dropped to the sink thats why I thought I'd try the detailer it not heating up as much as the andis is a plus.
Are these supposed to cut razor sharp to where theres no hair popping out? I have the detailers and i still see hair showing when i go over it with it.
Hi, thank you for the question 👍🏾 There aren't many trimmers on the market that can cut exactly like a straight razor🪒 can deliver. You can always try Zero Gapping your trimmer 🤔?
@@DelaceLeCoiffeur I tried to adjust the blade to zero gap but the screw is stuck, I'm scared it I twist too hard itll damage the screw so I left it alone. Though the blade appears to be zero gap out the box, it's not exactly even but I'd say the bottom blade is 99% close to the top blade.
Interesting question 🤔 I have admit that my attention has been on Babyliss and Andis cordless trimmers. This question will be explored during my next research session. Which of the two trimmers were you leaning towards?
I have both... I like andis better for overall shaving. Detailers make better lines, thinner lines though. The blades are alot thinner. But I feel like andis motor is stronger.
what did you end up getting for the dome? My research has come down to the corded Detailer and cordless Detailer Li. Can't decide which one is better, power- and longevity-wise.
@@theFaramarz I ended up corded detailer. Bald head too. I love them so far, after 9 years of T-Outliner. I’ve been super sleep. Doesn’t heat up as fast, lighter in hand. What’d you wind up going with??
@@Ray_Ray I went with the corded Detailer, too. I think that it gives the smoothest close shave outside of the razors and foil shavers. Especially, a smoother and closer shave when compared to my previous clipper which I had for 6.5 years before it broke down - a Philips QC5570 which was designed with a 180-degree rotating head for grooming and shaving head. Before that, I'd had the same model of Philips but from its previous generation for almost another 6 years. So, it's been around 12 years that I've been shaving my head now. Haha! Another good reason for choosing a Detailer over other trimmers and clippers, besides that smooth shave, is that it's kind with a sensitive skin. I've got quite a sensitive skin, and the Detailer has been kinder to my skin compared to those Philips clippers that I mentioned. Here's hoping that the Detailer stay good friends with our bald heads for a long, long time.
I know this comment is a lil old, but I bought a T-Outliner last year. Out the box it had issues. Blade rattled and you could see it wobbling. Tried resetting the blade and adjusting the tension and they just don't cut right. I'm ready to throw them away.
Been using the t outliner for the past 10 years and have always loved them but I've heard the hype for years about the detailers so I just bought a pair today, can't wait to try them!
Returned the Andis because that magnetic motor burns my hand and I cannot even finish my whole head buzz. What a shame for that price, man, they should fix that. The Superliner has rotary and it runs at a normal temperature.

You don't even have to drop them. The inside is plastic that holds the blade. That breaks from what I hear
My Detailer motor just blew & I only had em for less than a year😤
Totally true.
That’s why I bought Andis T Outliner. Except for the cabl snap at the bottom - no problem.

Same story for me. Even if I like the Detailers work today the plastic makes it fragile.
