Yesss I've used the cornstarch method for years :) Add baby oil in while you're mixing it & it'll come out way more flexible. You can also add acrylic paint during mixing, the color comes out so pretty!
@@christiandinkins2229 it depends on the size mold you're making, but for a small mold(about 4" round) I use about 5 drops of oil. For bigger molds add a drop-2 at a time until it's as flexible as you'd like
it is necessary to lubricate all objects with vegetable oil or other greasy agent before putting them in silicone. then they will not leave traces in the mold. You can also clean them from crumbs and pour over with hairspray. and then grease
The dish soap and silicone method has to be exposed to air to dry. Also heat helps speed up the drying time. So putting it in the refrigerator didn't help.
I am so excited about trying the corn starch method... Thank you for sharing this with us and I can't wait to see more of your videos!! God bless you...
Thank you so, so, so much! I was wondering about this but hadn't had the time to try. I don't make candles or food but I have been curious about the ability to make some molds for some of my art projects. Mixed with baby oil like one of your followers mentioned...this will work!
Omg....*run to store to ger silicon and cornstarch*🏃♀️🏃♀️ I am a new candle maker and im aimimg for my candles to look like desserts..these will be great..thanks for the upload
How cute thanks for sharing this video and I think the silicone with the Dawn liquid you probably were supposed to give it more time for it to set and with the corn starch and a silicone maybe you might’ve use too much cornstarch I don’t know because I’ve never done them I’ve been watching videos so I can learn how to make my own molds but I think the ones you made it were really cute
Those are nice 🙂 I like how they turned out you're so creative. I had been wanting to try this method of making molds ever since 2018 but was just leary about it. Watching you do this has given me the inspiration to go for it. Peace 🕊️ Love 💞 and Blessings 🙏
not sure why the silicone and dish detergent didn't work, it worked for me. but i'm gonna try the cornstarch method too. honestly you mix the stuff in water for like 5 minutes . you'll feel when it hardens but you gotta move FAST because then it sets up quick
Yes but you have to be thorough. When you are molding you will be tempted to put Cornstarch on top because it's easier. Don't lol. Because that's where it will stay gently cleanse with warm soapy water
Nooooooo!!! It was a fail for me too lol. Maybe you need to get Dawn dish soap from a regular store and not dollar tree 😕 🤣🤣. But that way didnt work for me
@@BubbleBabezUniversity oh wow. i need to check but i think i got dawn platinum lol. but i got it from the grocery store and the clear silicone from walmart. the white was SO terrible but the clear came out nice, but again when i felt it getting firm it was almost too late. but it worked. i made apple slices. never tried anything else, but that cornstarch method looks slick. how long did you mix it before you set it down to place your objects?

Thank you so much for tip. Next time I make it I will definitely try that 🙂
How much baby oil do you use Elizabeth

most caulkk guns have a metal "spike" underneath to puncture the seal. it folds out

I would not consider it food safe
Ok thank you
Do the molds work if you use them for candle wax?
Yes i do
@@BubbleBabezUniversity Thank you!!!
Amazing! I love food scented wax melts! What color dye did you use for the cookies, and is it liquid or chips?
You are a G.O.A.T 💪🏿
Awww shucks!!! Thank you ❤️
How long does it set before taking them out?
I just wait until its solidified :)
Amazing job!!

When you rinsed the molds again, did the cornstarch residue go away?

Hi. Awesome work. How did you get the color to come out for the larger fudge striped cookie?? Did you paint it? It's amazing
