Came within inches of running up the ass end of an elk at about 30mph outside of Eugene about 10 years ago. I'm just glad he spooked and ran instead of kicking, cause he'd of launched me. Size of a horse - elk are huge!
Bummed there was no pump, but I was buzzing with excitement for the entire ride, next time you are in WA. You gotta leave another treasure because that was awesome. Thanks for the thrills! Avid watcher and subscriber, Patrick from Port Ludlow!
Those first 5 miles to the pay station are tough. Then there is that steep grade half-way to Obstruction Pt, not to mention all the dust from cars. That is an impressive day. Lucky it was a small deer.
Ok, pump update, the pump is gone. I’m guessing someone found it and didn’t report it or didn’t know to. There were TONS of people up there this morning. But what obstruction point lacked in pumps, it made up for with excellent views and huge horseflies! Lol.
I think the backpacking stove works for your setup. It's small and clean. Foresty Forest lives in a van full time and he still uses a backpacking stove, as well as an induction cooktop and a slow cooker.
Fuckin rad video man. Premium content, with just the right amount of elevation, bikes, radness, dudes and dear. Hittin anything at 40mph is shit. Keep up the content.👊🏻👊🏻
The scene at 9:01 must be one of the weirdest I have ever seen here 🥳 Had to laugh so hard 🤪 I guess this can only be topped with Ron laying next to the sign say “weird but nice” (can’t remember what it was exactly but I guess the viewers know) 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Really, frame pumps are back now too? Lol. Lace-up shoes, wool, steel, frame pumps. Somebody grab downtube shifters, lets go full 80s please! Loved every minute of this adventure!!
Holy crap! I see why you were talking about deer accidents now. Glad he's ok. That's crazy. Be safe out there!!.... How did suhko's wheels look after riding that on 28's? That's pretty good to not get a flat.
Wheels are not typical roadie wheels. These are fairly heavy duty 32 spoke Velocity built by Sugar Wheel Works here in Portland. They're still perfectly true!
Hey, can always fit to van, allweather off roady tyres (normally bigger more tread) and may be able to raise with suspension plates,or similar get bit more ground clearance. Lightbar on a front bar or mount would aid u in the woods or ruff stuff. Still cool van dude....noice. Peace...
Crazy that I deer was hit at 40mph on a bike! I was just thinking that it was awesome how there haven't been any gnarly accidents on these adventures, but then WHAM! Hope the hommie ended up okay.
What all do you use for your footage while riding!? I have been messing around with my GoPro. And you always have good content! So I figured I would ask! Thanks again!
My tabs are not current and unfortunately the cables are seized on the adventure bike..... Not taking the tarmac with 23s up there 😟 I mean it's only 106 miles 9400ft from my place
I like videos like these, thanks for sharing it, it made me want to do a couple of days outdoors with friends on a bike. You have a car like mine, except mine is called FIAT Doblò is European and it's blue. 😉
Almost hit a adult male red deer coming off Paradise climb last month in the pm hours. Passed foot from it at 40 mph. Each of us dodging. It’s real out there.
After I made sure Nathaniel was ok I went back to the baby deer and stroked her to try to comfort her. She was bleeding and pretty stunned. Leg seemed broken (jeez I hope not) but she eventually struggled to her feet and disappeared into the woods with mama. Let's just send good vibes into the universe that she recovered and learned a lesson about just sauntering into the road like that.

The song with the woman singing is "Relax" by Simon Jones. Finally found it after a lot of searching! Great video, thanks Dustin!
Love the treasure drop concept.
Thanks Max!
Arabic follower over here! Cheers to Abe! And thank you for the content Dustin :)

Great adventure, great footage, great editing, great music, great story, great everything. That makes it a great video!
This had everything, love it. Healing vibes to the man down, hope the deer was ok too

Super stoked you took on this adventure. Bravo good chap!
Suhko’s frame builder is like 😬 It’s a ROAD bike!
LOL
@@EverythingsBeenDone what's the builder name again?
Bradford Smith. He builds for Speedvagen. My bike was his personal road bike.

The irony of getting Cadence commercials while rewatching D Klein videos is hilariously priceless.
wow, glad he is ok, holy shiz... yo and that shower/wood chop'n shot made me snort so loud it freaked out my dog, hilarious........
Hiding treasure just before the CBC event on Sunday ..... Hurricane ridge climb (they shut down the road)
Awesome, so pretty. Some day you have to let me know what that sweet RC truck is.

These are a few of my favorite things!
Awesome mountain range views
treasure hunt great idea and for sure more cooking segments also we like it when you ask all the riders what they are eating on the ride great vid.
Get yourself a Trangia 27 or 25 cookset. Love those things and nothing to break (alcohol stove)
Thank you for this suggestion! Just ordered the Trangia 25!
Hi Abe this is Omar from Jordan love to watch DK VIDEOS
Wow - What a rad ride and camping adventure. Was there a hacky sack session at camp?
I’m going for the pump Dustin!!!!! Let you know if it’s still there I’m a few hours!
Best of luck!

@@sukhoviboolsittiseri4000 Sweet!! I was actually just thinking about them getting Knicks and dents without them having fatter rubber to protect them.
went today no sight of the pump
I need to get a road bike myself. I converted my trek to a gravel xc.

Hey Canada!
Bucket list ride for me.
I doing century up there this weekend gosh trying to get me to go off route to go after a pump 😶
Aaaaaaah, the Stinner!!!😍😍😍
What tires were you ridin?
Great video, but I feel sad because of the lil deer.🥺
No sleep on 28 ml on gravel...what could possibly go wrong....right..??! Awesome vlog as always player..💖
Those views..?! Man! Amaaaaa ZING! And, a good example why undershirts are essential... hope the baby deer survived?
I think I might start riding with base layers now. Saved that guy a lot of skin
What kinda goggles or shades are those ?

In another video a while back he mentioned using a mouth mount for the go pro.
Man if I was on the side of USA I’d be going for that pump. Great video
Thanks bb.
😜
Ace vid! Glad your buddy was ok.
How was the baby deer? Did it survive?🙏🙏🦌🦌🦌
I have no idea? It did walk away and into the woods.
@@EverythingsBeenDone that’s a good sign, probably just winded. Hope so anyway!

If Wes Anderson made films about gravel…..thanks for sharing this Dustin- as compelling as always. What’s the soundtrack?
He usually grabs it from a radio show called Chances with Wolves. There is a link in the description
Ran ride! Only animal I've ever hit was a bat of all things... Thankfully I won that exchange.
That was cool!😎

That view 🤤
Can I ask, do you film everything on a GoPro? Love you’re storytelling and the quick shots make it even better
Good one.
Any chance you can hide one of these somewhere in Scotland?
Good idea!
#kindasketch 🤣 I feel you on that one
And the Deer?
How weird? Recovering from hitting a deer myself. Blacked put from the fall and it's been almost a week, still cam barely walk.
All things considered I’m glad your friend is Ok from the crash. However I’m sure he’s not the only one who suffered! What was the fate of the fawn?
Thank you!
Booking a flight now from the UK (we're allowed apparently). Oh, wait.
How is the deer tho ?
It was fine
Hope the baby deer is okay too
Justin that was class. i so want your life.

Proper!
More kitty petting is required in your vids! ;-)
Definitely!
Damn that's impress he wasn't hurt more hitting a dear at 40mph
Nathaniel was lucky it wasn't an adult deer. Glad he came out of that fairly unscathed.
@@sukhoviboolsittiseri4000 I can imagine. Those are way tougher
as someone who grazed the hoof of a deer at 30 mph a few weeks ago I'm glad to see he's ok. Bummer for the deer :(
Does anyone recognize the jersey on the rider @637 or so?
Its a Team Dream Jersey! Tell them I say hello ;)
