      Why 'female' ? Surely van lifers are all of the same or very similar mindset and irrespective of gender we can all learn much from each other .

    Thank you for your beautiful videos! I am a solo female weekend warrior with dogs, and I built out my van in March 2020. I live on the west coast of Canada and wistfully watch videos like yours (of people who live in a consistently warm climate) and wish that I could pull off full time vanlife! One day perhaps!🤞🙏Thank you for letting me live vicariously through you 😉. I will continue to follow your journey!

      One day, I hope to see some of Canada. Looks absolutely breathtaking, although I know I'd struggle with the cold.
      Living in the warmer climate is a struggle of its own. I'm trying to stay cool without AC. Just have to watch the weather and hope there's some water around when it gets too hot.
      Thank you for your support, safe travels x

    So good to see an Aussie nomad doing this. I too have been rethinking my life since 2020 and wanting more than just spending my life working in an office. This life feels like a ball and chain. I've tested out the van life style by using my own car just to see if this is something I could get used too. I decided within 18 months I should have a real van that I am going to convert myself. I plan to save enough to support myself until I can work on my own. Looking forward to the day when I can step outside, in the wilderness and not worry about social pressures. Great content Leanne! Well done.

    • @OzzyVanLife
      @OzzyVanLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much Zombrae. Definitely have saved alot from getting rid of the lifestyle I had and into a more minimalistic life now.
      Although I'm back working fulltime on the mines, I still have plenty of time to travel.
      You just have to find the right van, you can pick up work along the way or start something for yourself. I know plenty whom travel, live fulltime in a van and have there own business as well.
      We are all different and find different things work for us , but my vanlife family have been the best supporting one you could find.

      Make and sell jewellery, odd jobs here and there business development, marketing for other people. I've imported homewares and had in stores. I've worked in kitchens, cleaning etc and I've even exchanged my time for products like a new dress. You just have be willing to do anything.

    I’ve been waiting for your post and enjoyed hearing a little more about your life. Wanted to thank you for mentioning the free camp in Beverley. I was in the area recently and stayed overnight there, thinking of you. I can’t seem to get away for any longer than a few days ATM but anything is better then not at all. Stay safe. Cheers. Faye.

    I love your vidoes. I'm also an aussie looking to live the vanlife
    How is it meeting people in van life in Australia? does it get lonely? I will be only camp areas in nature on friday nights to sundays do you think mostly staying in urban areas make you lonely? And how do you handle the heat???!!

    • @OzzyVanLife
      @OzzyVanLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your support and watching my videos, glad your enjoying them.
      I've meet so many people while travelling and would have to say more than when I was living the suburban lifestyle. It's a totally different community and I've been able to call on them when needed for advise or catch up. I'm never lonely living this lifestyle , parked up in the city has made lifelong friends.
      I'm a bit of an introvert but when I want company, just saying hi to other travellers parked up gets the conversations rolling.
      The heat can be a challenge. You definitely need a sunroof or extraction fan to help circulate the air. I've purchased a cooler that water goes into and have 2 x fans. It's mostly late afternoon its unbearable.
      Make sure you insulate the van as best you can for your budget and separate the windows from the front of the van with good curtains to keep the heat away from the back of the van is a big help. 😁

      @@OzzyVanLife thanks for the reply, what type of cooler do you use? and is it energy effivient?

    • @OzzyVanLife
      @OzzyVanLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Deemay5555 have a 40L XTM fridge wish I had of gotten one with a freezer but may do that down the track. Have never had a problem with it keeping cold and seems to work well when the weather is under 32*. If its over that it can drain the batterie quickly.

    Do you mind sharing what you do for work on the road? x

    • @OzzyVanLife
      @OzzyVanLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've done a variety of work and also exchanged time for free camping , showers etc.
      From selling homewares to working in kitchens.
      I'm now just focusing on building up a small business that I'm doing from my van, will see how that goes first before I share it.
      There is short term work out there if you want it. You can also go to a town, put your name down at recruitment agencies and let them know how long you are available for.

    Having travelled from Melbourne to now just west of Gladstone Qld, I have been amazed at how many women are travelling alone in everything from micro cars to vans to caravans to 5th wheelers. Apparently, there’s a number of travelling women only social media groups if that’s you’re thing.

    I'm 72 yrs old now ,, and forced to sell my house which I won't get much for it once all my overheads are paid off,, I'm divorced and live alone , and since I can't afford any more houses or whatever , I thought I might have enough to buy a camper Van or something I can actually live in ,it must be automatic drive ,,, ,, and even though I'm used to living alone now ,, I just wonder if I'll be lonely on the gypsy way of living , in a way , I'm a bit scared of hitting the road ,, what happens if something goes wrong and I need help with the Van or whatever else ,, I use to go camping when I was younger , in Canada ,, but I've been in Australia for nearly 40 yrs now ,, so that will be quite a challenge to me ,, but I do have some medical things happening to me now since I'm getting older , I live in Northern Perth area at the moment ,WA, ,, so I'm really getting mixed feelings about this whole living arrangement of Nomad Gypsie life like ,, ,, God help me ,, I'm alone , but I want to get a dog ,

      We all have different feelings and expectations of moving into the van community but honestly I've made more friends with this lifestyle than I ever did living in the suburbs.
      If you decide to buy a van make sure you have road side assist for a just incase you need it.
      Whenever I've broken down I've had more than enough support from the community that I no longer worry about that type of thing cause I know it will work out .
      You will meet people that you can call when you need it that are also on the road fulltime.
      It is an adjustment but overall such a great experience
