Thanks Matthew that was very informative. I’ve had a similar issue with my 2017 Ducato. I’m experimenting with high temp black electrical tape to seal between the windscreen and scuttle though others swear by the grey non-setting butyl tape/putty. My injectors were also rusted so after a lot of research ended up using high temp Jenolite Rust Shield spray. 3 coats (15 mins between each coat then leave to hard dry 24hrs) gives a protective rust free coat to any exposed parts.
Have been using WD40 on the engine, but will try what you have suggested... When it first happened I used black duck tape... Don't have water going into engine bay now...
i have a 2014 model 3ltr Delawere and mine has been going into limp mode on and off for 3 years ,its been driving me mad but watching your video and blowing out my injector electrics i think fingers crossed i have fixed it.Great video .I even wrote to MMM and they were stumped as well .so thanks its been a great help.
Thanks for posting this ive got a 2013 with the same issue ,water is covering the injectors and its caused mayhem with electrical system when it rains.Im going to seal mine up tomorrow .
Make sure also there is a hole to the right of the engine which is suppose to let the water off to top of the block, but gets blocked, and really water shouldn't be getting in in the first place...
@@mjfa1977 mine is very bad the main drain is blocked with mud?the injectors are running for now ( not taking any chances on this tomorrow)the water caused me problems with the hill start assist not releasing the fuse relay board is socked in water
@@mjfa1977 disgrace fiat lets this happen to their vehicals as the water rains in I'm going to spray all the electrics tomorrow to try and protect them. Gt85 should do the trick
I have experienced the same problem on my Swift kontiki 679. The water causes the engine management light to appear placing the vehicle into lhm. When we put it on the diagnostic reader it came up with injector no 3. Exactly the same fault code you had. We removed the plugs from the injectors dried them off and reset the code and all functions returned to normal. Very annoying on going problem with fiat. They don’t seem arsed about it. Will not be buying a fiat again.
@@lesleyashcroft394 thanks for letting us know... Yes not the best show for Fiat have to say, even the new models have the same issue with regards to letting water into the engine bay.
Can you give me a update if you resolved to limp Mode mines been doing exactly same and I'm about to replace injector, but would like to know if you investigated and found out the issue Cheers
Hi Gary, Just over a month ago, it went into limp mode again... No one wanted to take or try to undo the retaining bolt, so had to try myself it snapped. So had to have the injector pulled, then the bolt drilled and tapped, then new injector, to date it's all good now. Have it confirmed which injector it is that needs to be done, engine shouldn't need to be removed. This was all done in the Essex area, if you want the contact details for DSS it's who the main fiat dealer use in the area for stuck injectors let me know, they came to me to do the work.
Update as of the 15/6/2023 - Still getting the 'Cylinder 1 injector Circuit High' error on long journeys, so brought the engine management tool to reset the wimp home mode. No more water in the bay, but need to investigate the wiring on the injector. Also looked at a 2021 model the other day, they have the same issue with the plastic at the bottom of the wind screen, and it's coming away too. Difference is that model has a plastic cover over the engine it's self.

I had this issue water filled top of engine and ended up snapping injector bolt nightmare job don’t attempt if the bolt looks rusty and isn’t silver
Why not use clear sealant mastic, less visible
Personally could not find anything strong enough and to be confident with...
Great advice.
Many thanks.
Just made a removable mesh filter using wire and copper wire wool to stop any leaves or debris going down the drain holes.
