    Was planning to buy this helmet from India without trying it out. Helped me decide on the size as I had a confusion to go for M or L. Thanks bud. ❤️

    Good review of the helmet... HJC makes good lids although they are prone to hot spots in weird places. 👍

      You're right. This is my second HJC, the first one wasn't comfortable at all ... DSX1 on the other hand is pretty good.

    Did you extend the hole so you can lower the visor? If so how much more did it drop, and did it help for street driving?

    I need a dual sport helmet that will easily accommodate eyeglasses. HJC says that the DS-X1 has grooves in the liner for eyeglasses. Can anyone comment on this feature of the DS-X1?

    You said you had to size up to large. What's your head circumference? I'm asking because I'm also usually a medium.

    • @BelowZero

      57cm and as I said in video Large fits perfectly.

    Thanks for the review, man.
    Just one question: Have you checked its authenticity?
    I'm about to buy one, but this retailer sells it for like 135 bucks, even though more people on the same web site offer it for the full 200+ (blue one).
    They say it's an outlet stock, but I'm not that confident.
    Thanks. 👌🏼

    So, how it is 3 years after? Still usable? I'm looking for a cheap polycarbonate light adv helmet. I like a lot Bell MX9 but still find it heavy enough. I think HJC weights only 1360-1400 gramms, so like a carbon one. Is it really light enough?

    • @BelowZero

      The helmet is top notch.

    Nice review, BZ. I was looking at the HJC DSX1, but wanted the clear with an interior sun shield; otherwise, it would have been it.

    • @BelowZero
      @BelowZero  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was looking at Scorpion EXO AT950 as well ... the only reason I didn't go for it it's because I have another modular helmet.

    I just got one last month. So far I like it. You are right about fitment, I usually wear a M and had to buy a L. I wanted to know if you had any experience with there "double shields" or if you found a tinted shield that you like. I would love a tinted pinlock but I have yet to see one offered anywhere. Its kinda of annoying finding parts for this helmet.

    • @BelowZero
      @BelowZero  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I mentioned in the video that I've got OEM tinted windshield. It's really not expensive, paid around $40 CAN with tax and shipping. As you probably know faceshield swap is not that easy so I prefer riding with clear visor and wearing sunglasses. As per tinted pinlock, I haven't seen one that fits HJC DS-X1.

    Good review. Not in the market for a dual sport helmet but I’m interested in your comments regarding HJC as a whole. It’s nearing time to replace my Shoei RF1200 and the HJC / RPHA line intrigues me, especially since one can save a couple hundred bucks for a similar helmet.
    Ripping through the Durham region eh? I’ll keep an eye out for the V-Strom in the future...✌️

    • @BelowZero

      Same here ... I have Arai and Shoei helmets but I was curious about this cheap HJC lid. IMO, the price/quality ratio is quite high ... yeah let's get together sometime.

    I got Arai Quantum this year (I have a round head).. I dont think I will ever switch in to something else... Yes its pricey. But it is by far the most comfortable helmet I have ever had. It comes with PinLock. Never fogs, even on +3c rainy days.
    And I stopped wearing ear plugs for short city rides.

    • @BelowZero
      @BelowZero  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MrPchubare This is not a switch. I have Arai RX-Q, Corsair V and Shoei Qwest ... all much better than DSX1 but for some reason I really enjoy this cheap lid 😊😊
