    A Chevrolet front bumper would typically be attached to the frame with just four bolts. Maybe six in the early ‘70’s. The Impala had to have the best power train in full size wagons - 454 (or 350) and a Turbo Hydramatic transmission.
    The passenger side hub cap is worth at least $26. If you have the VIN we’d love to decode it because they are packed with information!

    • @chrissytaylor5690
      @chrissytaylor5690 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normally you would be right! But starting around '73, the typically-overbearing federal government started mandating that all new cars be equipped with 5 mph "safety bumpers".🤦‍♀️ The reason that bumper pulled out of the frame like it did is because instead of being bolted to the frame it had like a round, plunger-type adapter that bolted to it instead..... And basically kind of plugged into the frame! If you look really closely when the bumper pulls out you could see the round in the frame that the bumper plugs into. Which can pretty much date this car to 1973 or later.🤷‍♀️

    • @chrissytaylor5690
      @chrissytaylor5690 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PapiDoesIt yep, they sure did!!! 💯 My buddy had a 1970 Impala with the 400...(pre-smog era of course)!! 😉
      But also something else that's little-known is the fact that you could get the 427 as standard equipment in the 1966-69 models of the Chevy Caprice! 🤷‍♀️ And that motor has a pretty strong reputation in the muscle car community! 😉 I Almost had a chance to buy a super clean 69 Caprice about 13 years ago for like $2,000! 🤷‍♀️ Even though it had about three or four bent pushrods, it still had a solid, complete, factory-installed 427 hiding under that Mammoth sized Hood!! Lol! 😁 It was definitely worth the price just in the motor alone! 🤷‍♀️💯
