"Hausu" is one of those Japanese horror films that is very out there due to how surreal and colorful the imagery is in that film and the soundtrack is addicting. Your cover of their theme really emphasizes the whole theme of the theme if you take away the wackiness of it and you see it's an allegorical story of growing up under the guise of a ghost horror movie.
I do like surrealist Japanese horror, but I haven't watched nearly enough. I'm definitely gonna add this film to the list. Nice disorienting portamenti. How are you liking the Vivo piano, by the way? I notice you're using their long tails a lot. And that you used to use a Kurzweil. I'm more of a synth person than a virtual piano version, so it's less self-evident to me what would be an upgrade. But I could imagine that, for example, the Vivo possibly use many more samples than the Kurzweil could fit inside itself?
My Kurzweil is super borked, which is why I ended up replacing it with something else. I spent a couple years without a piano, and eventually got super frustrated with not having one and started looking for something new. I got the Vivo because it had the best sounding grand piano sounds, which was my primary reason for wanting an electric piano. It's platinum pianos are absolutely stellar.
Like many horror films for me, this one is so kimochi warui but the soundtracks are often to die for lol and this melody always rips my heart out. 💔 だいすき!
OMG, I also love the Love Theme so much
This is lovely! You've perfectly captured the uneasy yet beautiful emotions that come directly from the film.
This is one of the best things I've ever heard in my life.
Amazing, like an alternate timeline where Vangelis composed Hausu in the 80's
My wishlist involves you doing Ryuichi Sakamoto's "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" 🤞
Rare I see anyone talking about House, let alone creating music based on it! Only thing it was missing was some floating fingers. :P
Lovely work on this!
Such a beautiful cover. If House was made today it would sound like this. Well done!
nice crisp powerful sounds. Beautiful work!
Thank you for spelling the title of the movie correctly.
Jesus this is up there with Wendy Carlos
hell yeah
That intro sound is from another world !
not into horror but I still like this so well done! you got me to like something horror related!

@@AmieWaters aww that’s such a shame about the Kurzweil. I’ve heard there’s various unfixable things that can go wrong :(
