The important thing to remember is that it is just a basic measurement of fitness. It's not designed to get rid of officers or as some bragging exercise.
The levels and decimels, not quite simple: Lv1-2 is 7 lengths Lvs2-3, 3-4 and 4-5 are 8 lengths each. Then Lv 5.4 is another 5, so that's 36 total lengths. That's only 540 metres. I've been training thinking it was 10 lengths per level, running at least 700 metres... Oh well, better to overprepare.
I just did this test to become a special constable. I love running and do it regularly, 10k usually. I’m 42 and not over weight. I honestly struggled big time as I don’t do fast running, I was so out of breath by level 6. Perhaps it’s my age, I don’t know; but it killed me!! In Scotland they don’t stop you at 5, they just let you run until you get 3 fails. I am physically fit, blood pressure everything is good. My understanding of this test, is good stamina, consistency, ability to run (obviously you need this), good listening and concentration skills. Just because you can’t do sprints doesn’t make you unfit!
Not being able to sprint definitely makes you unfit, if you can’t sprint, don’t join. The fact that you are applying to become an officer whilst knowing you would be a liability in a foot chase for example, is ridiculous, and a reason why our police are currently so inept in these situations.
Iam going for it , I can ride my bike for 100miles plus and can't run more then one min..I have 3months to work myself up, I will be training for bleep once I I able to run for a few mins!... wish me luck
Why do they only go up to level 5? In secondary school we ran until you were almost dead and that was when there was only one person left and that was usually level 11 - 14 depending on the day.
I read that to pass your test u should pass lvl 5 and then each year u have to pass another test on higher lvl. Maybe its up from area, I'm not familiar with whole UK land but maybe there crime is bit that high like in London where I'm based, but seeing this is helpful bcs nowhere they showing how this exactly look like, I just wish that is better quality lol
@@anotherone1989 Yeah, it is shockingly bad. Most of these people would have been very quickly disqualified after the first few runs if this was my secondary school. They did not do the test properly at all, except for the guy closest to the camera.
At least two of those interviewed failed. No application of rules... i.e fail to reach the line get a warning, fail the next line you're out. Specials ought to be at level 7 and police 9
I have on Friday fitness test for PCSO and I start to running 3 weeks ago ...yesterday I run 4.5km and today 5.3km ...day by day u must improve your running
If this was my secondary school, most of these people would have been disqualified, especially the old man at the far end & not because of his age, but because of how e and a whole bunch of others were disrespecting the beep amongst other things.
Oh my, this is not right. I have just watched this bleep test and it is safe to through observation that some of these should have not passed. I saw a few people miss the bleep a few times or just made it. This needs to be more serious and challenging. They are dealing with criminals who know how to run not children.
The timings are different for the 20m shuttles and you are in a job that actually cares about your health, provides regular exercise and nutritional advice as well as encourages sport or even in some cases _pays_ you to do sport. The police doesn't.
5.4 my god I can do level 11 and I am 59 and don't run more than 1 5 mile run a week. This entry standers are disgraceful. It's almost walking pace till level 3.
There's a lot of diversity there - gender, age, height and weight! This is a random assignment of the fitness test. They don't calculate this on diversity, they calculate it on who needs the test, be it part of initial training or the yearly test. The ridiculousness of your comment makes it difficult to know if you're serious or not!
At the end, why is the women in grey top got her hand on the others lower back? she even moves away but then the women in grey moves her arm down towards her bum...........alarm bells ring

a trick : you can watch movies at kaldrostream. Been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Drew Briggs Definitely, have been using KaldroStream for since december myself =)
It should be used to get rid of people who couldn't catch a cold. The Clowns have no chance in body armour. Disgusting entry standards
The tall fella in blue shirt really made it look like a walk in the park 😂 increased my confidence 😊

You do an easier test in schools, however this is shockingly low and should be a lot higher closer to what the military is will level 10

Well done all, especially the older gent , you were amazing!! 👏
My guy in the blue his form was absolutely impeccable 🤣👏🏽
Great to see, and hear opinions at the end. Thanks for posting this

I can run at 10 mph for 20 minutes on a treadmill on a 1.5% incline. Would I be able to pass this test? It doesn't appear all that difficult.
Most likely
THE FITNESS GRAMN PACER TEST
I failed today I went out of breath in level 4 when I start loosing the beep and get my first warning

The older guy was perfect!no errors there.
It's a good thing that this isn't your secondary school, then?
They all did absolutely fine.

4 times up and down is one level?

what a load of bollocks, in the military we have to get to 9.10 at 20m shuttles, not 5.4 at 15m

They ain't catching me when a nick that handbag Lol
I do this in school and we have to run more than that and I'm only in p6
i know no wonder they hardly ever catch people lmao this is why they use cars
You do easier tests in school.
Absolute minimal level of fitness to pass these tests!
Why do you need to be fit when you're just sitting at a desk or arresting old ladies for not wearing masks?
Lol be quiet
The women will pass, even if they fail...

Yes, it's terrible that a British police force is recruiting majority british people
/sarcasm
women get it easier in the military than men but they still have to get 7.6 at 20 meters
That's just not true
