I am upgrading from the Ring Doorbell 2 to the Ring Doorbell Plus. So far I am impressed with it. I made the upgrade because of the better quality camera and the better view then the the previous version I am also happy with the response time over the previous version as well. The package notification is real nice. I have always worried about my packages being ripped off, so this is a nice feature. I also find the the color vision at night is not that great right now. It is sub par to other cameras that I have seen, not on doorbell cameras but other cameras. Maybe this will improve with software upgrades over time. I happy they finally mad a head to toe camera, as this is something they have needed for a long time. Over all I would give this camera a A- in a grade. There is some improvement needed but I find it could be fixed real easy through software upgrades over time.
Man nothing wrong with the video and I enjoy them every time the notification showed up on my phone but I’m done buying any ring cameras not until they decided to switch to 4K. Believe me once they do they will stock with 2k for for a long long time by then we will be gone to a different planet for vacation.
My floodlight camera still working after a few years. I got the Eufy doorbell after my Nest had issues because no subscription but it died during the warranty period so I'm getting a replacement, and no access to footage because it's on the device. Problem with Ring is you need a subscription and even the ring alarm now requires a subscription just to get notifications and arm and disarm from the app which used to be free. They don't charge if you're an existing customer but will eventually charge existing customers most likely.
I was thinking about upgrading my version 3 to this but not having 5ghz is poor so will wait for either a version 5 with hopefully at least 2k and WiFi 6 great video though as per usual
Hello, thanks for this review. I just bought this ring battery doorbell, and I am having issues with the motion notifications. The camera records when a person is detected or motion as well, but I do not receive any notifications of those events. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks
Does anyone have an adjusting angle mount that works with this Battery Doorbell Plus? Its hard to find a mount that angles and let's you easily take out the battery for charging. Any help will be appreciated! Thank you for your video!
Great video! Something else to consider when deciding on getting a wired doorbell cam is transformer capacity. I was actually impressed with the audio quality. I'm going to watch your Ring Doorbell 4 review; but in your opinion, which of the two is better?
I prefer a 4:3 aspect ratio over the 1:1 fisheye look. Will you review the AOSU (2k UHD) Wifi Battery Doorbell? It looks similar to Eufy but with subscription free SD card storage in the wallplug speaker homebase (not in the doorbell), & a higher resolution (or so the marketing claims).
Many missed motions! Twice, a friend dropped off something at my door and Ring did not detect the motion. Not sure if its due to no pre-roll. Why no pre-roll Ring?! My Swann cameras picked it up tho. Nothing wrong with my settings. My Pro2 would've picked it up, but I was having power/transformer issues with that one.
I have a ring spotlight camera setup to hang under the soffits of my house aimed at my backyard. It is in between my neighbors house and mine. I have recorded video that shows my neighbor walking into my yard then the pixels in the video mess up and the neighbor disappears from view and becomes a shadow. What is happening? It only happens when he walks by. Is he using equipment to jam my camera or what?
can you make just the chime ring and not the doorbell itself? Also would you know the size required to drill into a mason wall to mount it there? Thank you for your video. Very good review
I wish ring would make a window version with no doorbell, half the size, ore powerful wireless wi-fi with no drag, better audio. Lowlights, night vision, with all the bells and whistles like the new door pro and longer lasting battery with an option to connect a ac adapter, longer recordings, 2 way talk and if course linking to other ring cams and app, how about it RING guys?
I have 4 ring cameras and it doesn't matter if they're plugged in or battery, my notifications are almost instant , I mean as soon as my door opens I get the notification and my 15 WYZE camera's alert me 3 seconds later except my battery wyze cameras they come in 30 seconds after way too long. I'm on spectrum WiFi 6 router
Hi Lifehackster! I’m planning to replace an outdoor light fixture which is located on our main door with a ring floodlight cam, is it practical? What do you think?
There is the AOSU (2k UHD) Wifi Battery Doorbell Camera which has sd card storage in the homebase wallplug speaker. Looks very similar to Eufy aka Anker. Maybe its the same company?
Can someone please help me?? My ring doorbell 2nd gen I got off Amazon prime day came in today. My only gripe is that the battery is built internally & I want the removable batteries! Which model has the removable batteries?? Thanks. New customer here.
So after 4 years (ish) my ring doorbell 3 just stopped picking up wifi . Tried everything but no dice .. after watching this clip I still don’t know which to get … plus or a 4 ….
Yes. The hardwiring can be added anytime, but note that it does not power the camera directly. It only trickle charges the battery. This should reduce the need to charge the battery, but in some circumstances, the camera might deplete the battery faster than the hardwire can re-charge it (e.g. if the camera is triggered a lot, or in cold weather when the battery does not perform as good).
Guess i'll stick wtih my old Ring Battery video doorbell 2. I thought about changing out to Reolink but they have some bugs to work out with their Doorbell hardware. That fisheye on this ring is terrible.
@@LifeHackster wouldn’t the Eufy be better or just as good outside? With capabilities like solar panel charging and such. The video footage looks crisp with both. Ring doorbell got the problem is sometimes Ring automatically logged you out. On a day, you want to access the camera, you have to log in again. Great review. While Ring may not have 4K cameras, my oldest camera is 6 years old and still works without any issues. Can’t argue with that.

Yes, you don’t need the anchors unless in brick or drywall.

No... wired will always be my preference.
