The game tries really hard to introduce you to all the social and story mode aspects, but they don't spend hardly any time on just basic controls so this guide was very helpful. I love the game but I'm incredibly frustrated!
I know i'm REALLY late but for anyone who's just seeing this, you don't have to limit yourself to Steep mode or Trickster! If you go to options>controller>controller mapping>tricks, you can set your Air Rotations to custom, meaning you can prepare with the face buttons but flip with your analog stick!! Hope this helps! :D
This is hands down one of the best beginnner guides on the game. I was honestly figuring out how to jump, especially at the stunt challenges, and your video really helped. Thanks man!

Wow this game is a breath of fresh air. Alot to do and extremely fun. I find the stunts a little challenging at first but just takes practice. I hope they come out with more expansions and other things to do as they go along. Overall great game
One thing I’d recommend not in the video is drifting. Especially in bike races. If your coming up to a turn or curve and see the yellow flag with black arrows poiting in a direction is usually indicating a sharp turn, depending on your bikes stats and your speed if you ain’t prepared you may slide into to barriers and bail. So I start the turn and if the track turns sharper than I anticipated I’ll tap the brake button and you’re guy will sorta drift helping you keep some speed and keep in control. Idk how many times I flew off track or into barriers when first started but that button has helped me maintained my position quite a few times!
the best tip in my opinion try 1st person mode. i dont how many games in general have these options and many players ignored the work they put on making the game feel reel in the 1st person view.
Thats why I like racer mode. Just press a button for jumping. In Trickster mode whenever I try to perform a normal jump it always goes over into a flip. Because I played Skate more often it's hard to switch.

The game does tell u that u can change camera view during the first bike race u are dropped into in the introduction as u start the game. It was the 2nd or 3rd promt that came up. After that however i havent seen any promt come up telling u to change view. For bike races i found that the 1st person view was mutch easier to use as u dident have to control the camera for those sharp turns or if u played on the mod where u couldent control the camera. U also got a clearer view of where your bike was, that made it easier to take turns more cleanly with minimal lose of speed. If u have a shit ton of riders all around u that may change but for anything outside of mass events 1st person was good.
Ive completed all snow tricks events + all side objectives using racer mode and manual mode. For some reason I find it way easier to time tricks just holding the button. Never used trickster mode or auto landing

I know I am late but I just bought the game yesterday. I am having a blast. I enjoyed a challenge called thread the needle. I had to get across a gorge on a bike across a tight rope in a think it was 50 seconds. It was hard but worth it when I figured it out.
Huge protip i NEVER see: controller stick dead zone! By default its at 0.30 but to be better at turns and cleaner trick rotations BUMP THAT SHIT DOWN to 0.15 youre welcome 😋 Protip: if you use trickster you can also you manually set camera control on the right stick for things like rocketsuit, wingsuit, and snowmobile Protip: increase you FOV to 101 to be better at stunts and wingsuit activities I should make a 5 real tips to become a pro riders republic player lol jk 😁
You can only be good with steep comtrols if you played it for many years before this game. The only problem is sometimes by sprinting with RT you can accidentaly jump. But as a nostalgic of steep I have to use steep controls I'm so used to them and it is so easy. If your new though try trickster.
Ok so i never do these comments but for once i have a good level im gonna give my opinion on each point, you can read if you want more than one opinion 👍😎 ; 1) racer/trickster mode, if you want to do races+tricks and not specify, use racer, trickster is a teeny bit better for tricks but races are hard especially wingsuit with it. As he said racer is more flexible 2) landing modes : use manual. This really shouldnt be an option, manual is so much better to do absolutely crazy tricks with no limits of spins, auto mode is useless since manual mode is easy to get the hand of after a few hours. 3) starting with the basic tricks On this point i dont agree with the video, if you really want to get the basics go to the training board in the lobby, it takes 5 min. 4) practice grabs Nah... As i said within a few hours you can do triple/quadruple spins+many grabs easily, you just learn it by playing. 5) collectibles Not much to add, it kinda useless but in this game you get bored pretty early tbf so getting these is entertaining, remember to first get the 11 equipment around the map ( they are represented by question marks, some of these question marks are just point of views to learn about the environment) 6) get more "gears" Its very easy in the beginning, you do the races and complete the sidequests in the race, you get plenty of bikes etc all is great BUT... At one point, around 1.2 k stars you start getting doubles, after you pass a level you can have either a new gear or bucks or a double... The more levels you have the longer it is to get more levels, and its extremely annoying to xp for hours to, in the end get bucks and doubles. 7) First person mode Eh... Very good in easy races and wingsuit but not so good 8) get the hand of fast landing Nah, most people just crash right where they want to be and respawn 9) compete in wingsuit HELL NAH NEVER DO THIS ITS THE WORST THING IN THE GAME NO ONE LIKES IT, YOU KEEP CRACHING ON AND ON 10) challenge yourself These side challenges are good for casual and tryhards, for casual cuz its fun but sometimes just not fun and you have to sweat your ass off to get the stars, for tryhards because without completing these side challenges you wont get very high in stars Edit* : i recommend to mid players ( with a few epic gears of each sport ) to do free for all, these are either tricks or races against other players, not player's ghosts but real live player, facing them in races and tricks competitions will train you alot. Last thing to add : do every race/trick competitions in minimum expert mode WHEN YOU HAVE GOOD GEAR ( epic ) ONLY, it gets you much more xp and it really isnt hard
When i was younger i was a skater and was overly stoked for the skate games but i didnt see any game that had the same kind of fun and some challenge like it for biking of any kind. I think there was the dave mira games and thats it so im happy to see this game do well. Also its hella fun to i love it.
I'd love to see both downhill longboarding and street/park skating, of course with vert in there too. It would also give a good excuse to give us a mountain board as a toy that I think would be sick.

A perfect introduction for someone who is about to get the game.👋 With the different playing modes ,landscapes and rides it reminds me of three of my favourite games from the ps2 days ,SSX3 ; smugglers run 1; and any flying game I could get my hands on, not to mention tony hawk or even aspects of GTA. Honestly I will probably get 'Steep' as well , so I am interested to hear your/Peoples opinion if it is worth having both.
And Dont forget. You can make better turns by letting go of your gas button. Same goes to jumps, In races it’s the best to not jump and drive over a ramp. You won’t fly so far and land on the other side just right, but you will have way more speed then the other people that are still high up in the air.
I've played on racer and manual landing since the start i love it , not having that camera movement really feels off using trickster and auto landing is just to easy and I'm used to skate 3 which doesn't have auto anything haha
I race waaaaay better in first person mode! I also feel like i’m going faster so it gives me a more immersive feeling when playing the game! I always race first person! Only thing that annoys me but would annoy me if it was in the game is if you could do tricks in first person! That would probably make me sick, but i’m annoyed there isnt a feature to allow it hahaha
This is a criminally underrated game. I mean I fucking loooooved Steep, but they massively improved on that game in every conceivable way. Then you throw in the quick load times and the high frame rates.... (chef kiss)

I have to learn the manual landing mode for more XP but, at least in snow sports I wasn't able to land any trick consistently. One thing I absolutely don't understand is the Mass Start Events, from what I know, all players are using the same gear but there are always some people that are MUUUUCH faster than me, how does that work? I know there are some boosters on the track but that's not what I mean, it's right from the start, some are lieterally flying away, I don't understand it... What I like a lot is the Wingsuite races and challanges, when I first unlocked this I had no clue and crashed every 10 seconds but after a while I got used to and feel like a superhero. This is the mode I earn the most XP and stars because I can complete the crazy sidequests which I can't in any other mode lol. 1st person mode is the best for Wingsuite flying, specially when you're flying close proximity, it's awesome!
First person really helps with mass races. I couldn’t play this bc we got sent out on the other side of the country for a while and then I got a ps5 so I switched consoles.
I'm a beginner person in terms of high-end gaming. I messed up totally in playing DBD, GTA -V & WWE2k19, now I don't know what to do with these games. Now i see the Riders Republic it somehow looks fun to me. So would you recommend having a try with this one? Please give me your honest opinion.

I dont get why U need to press 2 buttons for spins/flips. It says press X to jump then O to spin. but if I press O to jump and press O again my rider just spins right anyway? I dont see a difference.
Because you can use any 2 button combo for different tricks so the game wants you to hit the circle and square button to spin right but if you hit circle triangle you’ll spin right and front flip. If you hit circle and X then you’ll spin right doing a backflip it’s a little more advanced than it says but it’s not difficult at all
I just wish they brought the camera up a little bit in trickster mode, I feel like I'm always looking at the ground and cant see where I'm going and we dont have control over the camera...
ok, so I am a novice when it comes to PS 5 and its video games, I just got Riders republic and leveled up to a new mountain bike. my problem is I am pushing L1 like it tells me to do in order to make my mountain bike go and it is just sitting there. I think I might have been sold a bogus game any suggestions as to how to get my character to move?

So I use trickster and when want to wind up for a rodeo so I hold down the right analog and I don’t even let go and my character just tries to do a backflip on flat ground it’s super annoying
This Game is absolutely amazing and i enjoy ever Aspekt of it Onley a Set Marker Like in skate i some of my biggest Wish in the Future Maybe the Patch it in that would be awesome

Aside from the inputs skate 3 did have autolanding. When I did big flips my character would autmatically turn fast or slowly enough to land correctly.

Manual landing is not hard. You'll get used to it very fast and it feels a lot better when you land a trick perfectly

I'm a beginner person in terms of high-end gaming. I messed up totally in playing DBD, GTA -V & WWE2k19, now I don't know what to do with these games. Now i see the Riders Republic it somehow looks fun to me. So would you recommend having a try with this one? Please give me your honest opinion.

I immediatly switched to manual for landing when I started to play. The auto mode just felt weird
I dont get why U need to press 2 buttons for spins/flips. It says press X to jump then O to spin. but if I press O to jump and press O again my rider just spins right anyway? I dont see a difference.
There isn't a difference. I agree the game has a weird way of communicating hot to do spin/flip tricks.
Because you can use any 2 button combo for different tricks so the game wants you to hit the circle and square button to spin right but if you hit circle triangle you’ll spin right and front flip. If you hit circle and X then you’ll spin right doing a backflip it’s a little more advanced than it says but it’s not difficult at all

for me, manual landing mode is pretty easy becuz of my play time. so I recommend to start with it to not need to learn it later.
I just wish they brought the camera up a little bit in trickster mode, I feel like I'm always looking at the ground and cant see where I'm going and we dont have control over the camera...
First person view for bike and Jet suit racing. It's a lot easier to control then 3rd person

ok, so I am a novice when it comes to PS 5 and its video games, I just got Riders republic and leveled up to a new mountain bike. my problem is I am pushing L1 like it tells me to do in order to make my mountain bike go and it is just sitting there. I think I might have been sold a bogus game any suggestions as to how to get my character to move?
At what point does character customization open up in career mode is it stuck behind this introduction questline
