I understand going gay or bi or lesbians but I don’t understand the change in pronouns they slash them is literally plural and no hate but everyone that goes by that says that they are not confused about their selves but it seems like they are confused whether they are him or her no hate btw
Grammatically, they/them is not always plural - it is meant to refer to someone without knowing their gender identity. If you asked about my roommate and didn’t know anything about them you would say “Oh, what’s their name?” to get more insight. Nonbinary pronouns are for people who either do not identify as male or female because they don’t feel like they fit either category or they feel both feminine and masculine in a way that intersects both genders! It can be a little confusing but the people themselves are often very confident in their identity:)
