As someone who writes, has a BA in creative writing, and knows authors, there's no way he'd be able to plan, write, edit, and go through all the steps of publishing (which alone take at least a year) in two months. The thing is this is a grown man, who was “transracial”, not transgender. He was non-binary at the time yes, though he was never transgender. Oli didn’t transition because he had gender dysphoria, he got plastic surgery because he was a crazed BTS Stan. He didn’t feel like he was Asian. He didn’t have dysphoria. Also Asian isn’t a gender it’s a race. If anything, it would make more sense for him to write a book warning people about the dangers of getting too obsessed with a celebrity.

As a parent (in Canada) children already have rights. If I took my kid to the hospital or doctor or dentist or therapist and told them to treat her and my child refused. The doctor dentist or therapist would refuse to then treat them. Unless it was something the doctor thought needed to be done and felt the child couldn't understand the consequences of refusing. Even then they would be double checking with their lawyers first best believe.

This law allows children to decide with their parents that if there is a life-threatening illness they are suffering from, and they reached the stage in which doctors are sure that the possibilities for an actual cure have been fully depleted, and care after this point will merely be life-extending, possibly involving nasty side effects from the drugs involved that might make the child suffer more next to already feeling bad because of their disease, to end their life in a peaceful fashion, instead of having to possibly go through weeks of tremendous amounts of discomfort before their body simply shuts down because it can't sustain itself anymore. In The Netherlands, you are allowed to have a say in a medical procedure from the moment you turn 12, but your parent's decision will be leading (which is not to say that a doctor can talk with the parents if the doctor notices the child being fierce in trying to get it through to their parents that they don't want something), at 14 you are allowed to make decisions in light medical procedures, but your parents will still have a lot of weight to put in, but at 16, you are allowed to take your own decisions when it comes to medical procedures, regardless of your parents. That said, when I as a child had to get tubes in my ears (I was 5 at the time) and my mom was sitting in the office of the Eye-Nose-and-Throat doctor discussing the surgery, the therapist then went: "We have been talking about things that concern you, so I think you need to have a say as well. Do you have questions about the surgery or anything?" and I just asked: "What do tubes look like?" and they pulled out a package containing the actual tubes, and the doctor showed the instrument used to place them (a superprecise piece of very thin pliers, from what I recall). I asked if it would stop my ears from hurting (I had a lot of ear infections as a child) and the doctor said that in most children they help a tremendous amount to combat ear infections and that it would stop me from experiencing pain. She then proceeded to show (just by using her hand, cupping her mouth and nose) how I would get the anesthetic administered right before surgery, and a lot of other things. Yes, it's small and it wasn't anything remotely close to me trying to opt out of the surgery, but it definitely helped having at least some sense of what was going to happen, how and why.

The Trevor project might have resources, and while planned parenthood might be hard to get to, they might be able to give you a list of inclusive providers in your area, also telehealth can make things much easier to find someone to fill prescriptions, and COVID has lightened insurance restrictions on long distance appointments, which is another good place to check, IK blue cross blue shield has a website you can use to find doctors and they have markers if they are actively allied

In the year you turn 16 you can get cross-sex hormones administered, which will start the puberty that belongs to your desired sex (and if you have been through puberty because you didn't know transgender people was actually a thing, like I did, you get to enjoy puberty a second time...yes it doesn't last as long but oof does it suck for being hyperaware about the world around you this time in a completely different fashion than when you were first going through puberty). I feel so bad. Im not close with my step dads family, and last week my mom& step dad were in town for my bday. Well my step dads brother, sister in law, and their kids were also in town, so we spent a day together. I have really bad social anxiety, and i had only met my step(?) cousins (that sounds so weird😂) once before when i was like 10. I thought that there was one boy and one girl, and when my mom and step dad kept talking about who we were gonna see, they kept saying the two cousins i met before, one very masculine, one very feminine name. When we met up, 2 boys got out of the car. I didnt know who the 2nd boy was, and i really do have really bad social anxiety, so i really didnt say anything to the 2nd boy i hadnt met before (but i only said 2 things to the cousin i did speak to. I spoke to everyone as a group im just not good at small talk at all) and i actually ended up being in a lot of pain (im disabled from chronic conditions) and leaving early. Once everyone got back to the house, i asked where the girl cousin was. Im sure everyone knows where this is going, but apparently my cousin is trans/nonbinary and everyone forgot to tell me AND my mom& step dad kept dead naming and misgendering them because it was their first time seeing them since they began transitioning. I feel so bad, i really hope they dont think im transphobic and thats why i didnt say anything. Ill be kicking myself for this for years im sure, im pan so i am very much part of the LGBTQ+ community, but i just thought someone else came who i hadnt met before, my partner even said he thinks theyre trans and it was my cousin and i said no, theres no way my family wouldnt have told me that and kept dead naming them.
Could you contact them and say you're really sorry, you had no idea that they were enby, and too socially anxious that as you didn't recognise them, got too anxious to speak to someone you thought you hadn't met before? I started testosterone at 15, and detransitioned at 16 due to a very traumatic event. Hormone therapy saved my life, if I didn't have that access I truly would not be here. HRT is life saving, I don't understand why people think otherwise.

I really think it’s better to just not acknowledge people like Oli. He doesn’t believe in anything and is grifting for money. He’s also a narcissist who craves attention, and he doesn’t care if that attention is good or bad. He’s the worst kind of person and I wish people would just unanimously agree to not discuss him in any way.
If we don't call attention to people like Oli, they will remain unopposed. The far right will still post about and praise him.
Picture this, someone just learned about Oli London and decides to do a google search. If there's no one calling attention to the disinformation he pushes, there will be no results when searching for him to counter his opinion, and that person will be more easily lured into his web.

As someone who writes, has a BA in creative writing, and knows authors, there's no way he'd be able to plan, write, edit, and go through all the steps of publishing (which alone take at least a year) in two months. He either had a deal and got ghost writers or this has been planned for a lot longer than two months. Or both. I'm guessing both.

The thing is this is a grown man, who was “transracial”, not transgender. He was non-binary at the time yes, though he was never transgender.
But he is an adult man, capable of making his own decisions and choosing his own path to go down in life. He was not a kid who was misled to think he was trans, and he is therefore not a victim of the system. This man willingly went through all these procedures, and paid for them himself. He should not be allowed to at all call himself a victim, at no point should he be allowed to spew so much bullshit at once.

Oli didn’t transition because he had gender dysphoria, he got plastic surgery because he was a crazed BTS Stan. He didn’t feel like he was Asian. He didn’t have dysphoria. Also Asian isn’t a gender it’s a race.
If anything, it would make more sense for him to write a book warning people about the dangers of getting too obsessed with a celebrity.

As a parent (in Canada) children already have rights. If I took my kid to the hospital or doctor or dentist or therapist and told them to treat her and my child refused. The doctor dentist or therapist would refuse to then treat them. Unless it was something the doctor thought needed to be done and felt the child couldn't understand the consequences of refusing. Even then they would be double checking with their lawyers first best believe.

This law allows children to decide with their parents that if there is a life-threatening illness they are suffering from, and they reached the stage in which doctors are sure that the possibilities for an actual cure have been fully depleted, and care after this point will merely be life-extending, possibly involving nasty side effects from the drugs involved that might make the child suffer more next to already feeling bad because of their disease, to end their life in a peaceful fashion, instead of having to possibly go through weeks of tremendous amounts of discomfort before their body simply shuts down because it can't sustain itself anymore.
In The Netherlands, you are allowed to have a say in a medical procedure from the moment you turn 12, but your parent's decision will be leading (which is not to say that a doctor can talk with the parents if the doctor notices the child being fierce in trying to get it through to their parents that they don't want something), at 14 you are allowed to make decisions in light medical procedures, but your parents will still have a lot of weight to put in, but at 16, you are allowed to take your own decisions when it comes to medical procedures, regardless of your parents.
That said, when I as a child had to get tubes in my ears (I was 5 at the time) and my mom was sitting in the office of the Eye-Nose-and-Throat doctor discussing the surgery, the therapist then went: "We have been talking about things that concern you, so I think you need to have a say as well. Do you have questions about the surgery or anything?" and I just asked: "What do tubes look like?" and they pulled out a package containing the actual tubes, and the doctor showed the instrument used to place them (a superprecise piece of very thin pliers, from what I recall).
I asked if it would stop my ears from hurting (I had a lot of ear infections as a child) and the doctor said that in most children they help a tremendous amount to combat ear infections and that it would stop me from experiencing pain.
She then proceeded to show (just by using her hand, cupping her mouth and nose) how I would get the anesthetic administered right before surgery, and a lot of other things.
Yes, it's small and it wasn't anything remotely close to me trying to opt out of the surgery, but it definitely helped having at least some sense of what was going to happen, how and why.
Oli London isn't even Korean. He's a white English guy who culturally appropriates Koreans for clout.

Detransitioners are gaslit into believing lies about health care for trans people. Just because they chose to transition and, later on, regretted it doesn’t mean they don’t matter. We all hope they get the help that they need. But with that being said, trans kids are the ones who are forced to feel shame for being who they are and that is very problematic and detransitioners who are complicit in that are just as transphobic as conservatives.

Trans people at least believe the honest research that does exist, but people like Oli conflate numbers, do not understand some papers, or just downright LIE in front of a big streaming platform by twisting the summary of a research paper by saying that if you read the paper in full "it'll say something different".
Oli has said that he is on this path "to protect children from the harmful practices I was a victim off as well", completely ignoring the fact that when he regurgitates about how you should be "old enough to make a permanent decision" he should be more than willing to mention that he was one of those people: He made a conscious, extreme effort to change his appearance to the point that he eventually risked dying because of all the surgical procedures, not being pushed as a child AT ALL.
If he claims he is about protecting children from the harmful processes that he fell victim to, he needs to add to that: "But I'm a hypocrite, because I did all that as a grown adult, and clearly, adults make terrible life-long decisions as well, so how is that going to help children who actually can't do all the things on their own like I did, I don't know..."

The Trevor project might have resources, and while planned parenthood might be hard to get to, they might be able to give you a list of inclusive providers in your area, also telehealth can make things much easier to find someone to fill prescriptions, and COVID has lightened insurance restrictions on long distance appointments, which is another good place to check, IK blue cross blue shield has a website you can use to find doctors and they have markers if they are actively allied

Fwiw, I only finally came out as nb/trans masc a couple of years ago, and I’m in my early 60s! (Please don’t take that as discouraging, there were a *lot* of reasons for it taking so long for me, just saying it’s never too late!) I’ve been on T for a few months now, changed my name and pronouns, and am getting to be the me I never thought I could. Hang in there, and remember that you’re valid, beautiful and loved! @@mikuenjoyerXD Which is? Puberty blockers are reversible drugs, if you stop taking them, the puberty belonging to the sex you were born with will still happen. In the year you turn 16 you can get cross-sex hormones administered, which will start the puberty that belongs to your desired sex (and if you have been through puberty because you didn't know transgender people was actually a thing, like I did, you get to enjoy puberty a second time...yes it doesn't last as long but oof does it suck for being hyperaware about the world around you this time in a completely different fashion than when you were first going through puberty).

I feel so bad. Im not close with my step dads family, and last week my mom& step dad were in town for my bday. Well my step dads brother, sister in law, and their kids were also in town, so we spent a day together.
I have really bad social anxiety, and i had only met my step(?) cousins (that sounds so weird😂) once before when i was like 10. I thought that there was one boy and one girl, and when my mom and step dad kept talking about who we were gonna see, they kept saying the two cousins i met before, one very masculine, one very feminine name.
When we met up, 2 boys got out of the car. I didnt know who the 2nd boy was, and i really do have really bad social anxiety, so i really didnt say anything to the 2nd boy i hadnt met before (but i only said 2 things to the cousin i did speak to. I spoke to everyone as a group im just not good at small talk at all) and i actually ended up being in a lot of pain (im disabled from chronic conditions) and leaving early. Once everyone got back to the house, i asked where the girl cousin was.
Im sure everyone knows where this is going, but apparently my cousin is trans/nonbinary and everyone forgot to tell me AND my mom& step dad kept dead naming and misgendering them because it was their first time seeing them since they began transitioning. I feel so bad, i really hope they dont think im transphobic and thats why i didnt say anything. Ill be kicking myself for this for years im sure, im pan so i am very much part of the LGBTQ+ community, but i just thought someone else came who i hadnt met before, my partner even said he thinks theyre trans and it was my cousin and i said no, theres no way my family wouldnt have told me that and kept dead naming them.
Could you contact them and say you're really sorry, you had no idea that they were enby, and too socially anxious that as you didn't recognise them, got too anxious to speak to someone you thought you hadn't met before? If you say that, and that you love and accept them as an enby step cousin, I think they'd understand. :)

Trans-racial is a thing but its not how he and others like him portrayed it to be, in all actuality the meaning of the term Trans-racial is when a child of a specific race is adopted out to a family of the a different race than the child in question that being adopted, for example; Say I was a 6year old black child being adopted to a white family this what is called Trans-racial adoption, it doesn't mean "I was born white but oh, now i identify as black (or literally I am black) even tho I'll never ever be black, but I'm get cosmetic surgery to have black features and darken my skin to look black" no, that's just not what Trans-racial is....
And yanno what, this stupidness is really overshadowing black/children of color who are being adopted out to white families who have no clue what its like to be black/POC, who racially go on to abuse their black/child of color later on, neglecting the child's cultural needs, health and wellbeing, i mean these sorts of things do happen but these cases are getting ignored not just because of system racism but because of people like him claiming to be black when their not REDIFINING the meaning of Trans-Racial.... I have a feeling this was his plan all along the whole “identifying as Korean” etc. Like create this persona. Get genuine real surgeries etc and then have them reversed to “prove” being trans is entirely a choice and that transitioning isn’t the answer and that trans people don’t deserve all their rights etc. And for anyone who thinks it’s insane for him to go through surgery as basically a really ignorant and dark social experiment. But the worst thing about it all is that he was educated in the UK school system but commentates on the US that he knows nothing about or speaks completely falsehoods about the education system of both the UK and US. Nothing that he says is actually happening.
AND we should note that he didn't get his surgery in the US or UK...he had it done in Korea because no reputable surgeon would dream of performing that kind of surgery on anyone, let alone a minor...so him discussing availability of any surgery should be entirely ignored because he WAS protected from self mutilation by UK practitioners by refusing the ridiculous surgery he wanted.
He's always done everything for attention. From getting plastic surgery to be "identical" to Jimin and starting a "kpop idol career" to transitioning to a Korean woman to now detransitioning back AND publishing a book. I believe his proclamied love and obsession for bts and jimin has always been fake. When he realized that wasn't giving himself fame anymore he simply switched tactics. I started testosterone at 15, and detransitioned at 16 due to a very traumatic event. Hormone therapy saved my life, if I didn't have that access I truly would not be here. HRT is life saving, I don't understand why people think otherwise.
