If you're ever bored and decide to binge watch 1975 interviews, get a beverage, whether alcoholic or otherwise, and take a drink every time Matty says "we create the way we consume"
seeing everything it takes to put together the stage show makes me appreciate it so much more, not from just an aesthetic point of view but also because of how much hard work and thought was clearly put into it. I can also see why matty says that basically all of his money went into the stage, but it's 100% worth it, they're honestly the most incredible band live and the stage enhances the entire experience.
I've always wondered about the amazing techinicalities that are involved in their live shows particularly the new one, so it was super cool to get a be hide the scenes look at how it all works. Both Tobias and Matty are complete geniuses in how amazingly they've designed there stage for their shows.
I love the entire concept of designing a stage for social media and iPhone photography. That was a very smart move on their part when designing this set. I've been to several concerts where the photos I take are terrible because they never consider how the audience is going to consume their experience at a live show/how it's going to photograph. I love this back story and how it happened for this set, it's very nice to see that The 1975 does care for its fans. I also love the influences of James Turrell, that was one aspect I noticed when I first looked at the set for this tour. Excited to experience this in person once they get to America.
Fascinating. Possibly my favorite interview with Matty as well, it's something he's passionate about and fresh information. So interesting to see how much they pay attention to every detail, like the fans hands or how it will look in a thumbnail. Every perspective has been accounted for and addressed with love and the result is gorgeous.
Maybe I'm not well exposed enough but the last time I see someone being so intelligent, detailed, involved and collaborative as a musician is Lady Gaga. This is marvelous, i feel so lucky to be a fan
Just saw them on this new tour a few days ago and the lighting is really something else! Like what they said, it's an art show that goes along with the music. Really cool to see the thought process and work that goes behind it!
They outdid themselves so incredibly much my eyes went wide seeing the shows sets and seeing them live is incredible I’m very visual and this was the best visual show I’ve ever seen
I'm o grateful for all the hard work they've put in to the live shows and I'm so happy that I've had the opportunity to experience both the old and new live shows. Oh what I wouldn't give to be backstage and behind the scenes with these guys 💘💘💘
Saw them on March 5th 2016 (Brixton) it was soooo breathtaking💕 It was one of the most beautiful wonders I have ever seen. Anobrain, Ugh, Medicine, You, If I believe you and Sex are the songs that immediately come to mind-the stage was BEAUTIFUL😭❤️
it's great Matty and Tobias putting a lot of effort into the production and lighting design of the tour. Going to the January 2019 tour, can't wait to see the production
does anyone know what brand Matts hoodie is at 4:48. (I think he's wearing it, the entire interview but you can really see it better at 4:48) I've been searching everywhere for one since like.. December.
Creative genius and technical execution combined
Who's watching in June 2024? Also this live set up is still their best and most visually stunning, don't @ me

Ary xx or take a shot every time he says “ juxtaposition” or “juxtapose “ 😹😹😹💕
or everyvtime he says self-awareness
and everytime he says we have been a band for 10 years lol
I worship your work. 🎉 Tobias.

I want someone to look at me like tobias looks at matty.
Loved this interview btw😍
well it's not quite an "interview" but anyways: I love it 😂
This video was needed because The 1975's stage setup is amazing!
you can see matty internally fangirling when he introduces Tobias @ 0:09

Tobias is totally crushing on Matty and I'm here for it
SLASH 3:15 to be truly iconic you need to be recognizable in silhouette
wow it's so interesting to see what actually is going on behind the scenes, they do have such an amazing set, thanks for the video :)
it's so nice when celebrities actually care about their fans, what they always should.

i love that matty picked up the color scheme based off of fan art and pictures on the internet :')
I mean its a real smart Marketing move as well. They said in one Interview they gave the Fans what they wanted ;)

Amazing work Tobias, thank you.
Well I am crying now because I really want to see the set in real life and they are not touring to the other part of the world yet
I went to their concert last night at the Greek theater in Berkeley and it was so beautiful

All roads lead me back here again. I believe Tobias will team with Matty again for MUSIC FOR CARS

Does the video end with a screen error? or is that text on the black screen on purpose??
Words!
If I was Tobias I'd put a single frame of Tyler Durden on one of the columns just for a laugh in every show
