@@MWmMorgan , Lorenz Hart was great. And though stylistically, he was utterly different from Porter, so was Johnny Mercer. Porter sent Mercer a telegram in which he told Mercer that Mercer's lyric for "Laura," was the only one which, he, Porter wished he himself had written.
When you listen to Porter, there's no other music. Hearing Cole singing 'You're The Top' as the final tune with this set, indeed, makes you feel like it!

Here's to your grandmother! It's wonderful she loved Porter. I grew up in Indiana and proud to have shared the state growing up singing Porter and Carmicheal tunes. I grew up near Richmond and Bloomington, both who have deep music and recording history roots.

OH EM GEE! Gertrude Lawrence singing "The Physician"! Never heard this one before! WHAT a classic! Miss Lawrence was wonderful with the songs of both Porter and his friend, Noel Coward; she was made to sing those comic (and sometimes tragic) tunes. "The Physician" is a classic by one of the great wordsmiths of song (as was, need I say, Noel Coward). Thanks for this terrific set of recordings!
Do you have something out with the songs of the Gershwin brothers? Ira was pretty good with lyrics . . . "Of Thee I Sing," fr'instance . . . a great and neglected satire on American politics.
