I am shiting my pants just watcing that breathtaking onboard. One of the few times the speed of a car frightened me. The speed of the driver though is beyond fear!
This car is a benchmark for (probably) a new class of rallying - unlimited class rally cars. Like those private-built time attack road course cars, but AWD, breathing fire and so fast you need a sidekick to navigate you in all conditions and terrains
I don't know about you but I much prefer listening to these cars over what the modern F1 cars have become. These sounds absolutely insane, wish F1 took notes but they're all about "saving the planet" while simultaneously shipping everything from country to country and flying in private jets.

I like this. I have a stock 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8. These Hyundai cars can be sleepers. The problem is, most people don't build the engines first and end up destroying it. Brian Paul has a 700whp Genesis Coupe 2.0, but I think it was closer to 800whp. Blood Type Racing has the 850whp/wheel power red Genesis Coupe 2.0. Terrance in Texas had a 3.8 that was built to 4.2L, and his car was over 603whp. Justin in Hawaii has twin turbo 3.8, and I "heard" it was close to 800whp, but there are no confirmed numbers from him. But there are videos of a yellow and a green twin turbo Genesis Coupe 3.8 in Korea drift events, and they are over 600whp. When done correctly, the cars can be sleepers and powerful. Unfortunately, the best cars are usually kept secret from everyone who is trying to learn about the cars. I don't like the Veloster or hatchbacks in general, but it is growing on me. I always like rally cars. The Veloster is interesting. It somehow became more successful than the Genesis Coupe over the years?🤔🧐🧙I wish the public had access to those spoiler wings from rally events.
Fascinating vehicle. Interesting how the Rally version uses that 1.8L (I’m assuming a bored and stroked factory 1600cc unit) to run a restricted 300hp and the hill climb prep puts an amazing stroked 4G63 in there! The thing is a rocket ship I’d love to see it run at PPIHC
Nah, WRC is only 1.6L and Hyundai uses the G4FJ motor (used in i20N, i30, Veloster, etc.) for that series. The G4CP came from the generation of early 90s Hyundai Elantra's and Sonata's that people worldwide sent to scrap after a few years, and as such, there aren't that many of them motors laying around now. 😬

this is what WRC should be. not the current cars that have barely enough power to get out of their own way but fire breathing, limiter bashing monsters. it might actually get people back to watching rallying rather than the rather dull and frankly toxic world of F1. we can only hope
Proper rally courses don't need much horsepower, but torque. WRC+ cars were very good at sending their power to the road, and yet Neuville said that there weren't many places in which the extra +100 HPs from the hybrid's electric motors could be used. Sure, in tarmac it would be noticeable, but WRC+ cars were the most spectacular cars in the history of motorsport and people's reactions have confirmed that - and the current Rally1 cars aren't much different in tarmac and snow at least. Such spectacularity isn't achieved with massive amounts of horsepower, but with proper mechanical and aerodynamical tech. For a proof, go and watch Group B videos. They aren't more spectacular than those 280 HP, Rally2 cars
That uninterrupted onboard was glorious!
