Is this sarcasm? lol. I mean did you even see 0:13? laboring over a piece that costs 25 cents at the hardware store lol. Bafflingly stupid. Also, 1:04....I mean cmon. 2:43 takes the cake on stupidity. The chances that you're going to have all of those pieces, tools, and time to makes this rather than have a hole saw is highly unlikely lol. Additionally, you aren't even making a cutting edge with this thing. They are just points on thick round bolts, meaning you aren't gonna have accurate holes, and it is only cutting because it's spinning so fast. It's mind bogglingly dumb. 6:13 Using a product for it's intended purpose is a hack? 7:36 What the heck is this? Last but not least 8:56. Stupid complex and completely pointless. The ridges this thing would cut into your project would ruin it. There's no situation in which this would be useful and not damage your project.

In my experience the cost and time to acquire the "correct" tool or item is less than inventing your own way. In most cases it is safer as well. For example when wiring up a boat or car I have found wire nuts where a butt connector should be. Wire nuts are great for solid core wire but fail when used with stranded wire, which is the only approved wire on vehicles. Same with plumbing on vehicles, especially boats that have had all pex removed and replaced copper pipes. And kept in place with copper brackets and soldered together. Meanwhile the boat flexes and sags while the copper pipe doesn't give the same way and also corrodes when exposed to salt water.
These are just examples from my own experience. Once in a while inventing something is necessary but still...

There are very great ideas here. Good job!
However, the home-made electrical fittings (even though they are very slick) are not legal and will not comply with the code. They are NOT UL listed. They will not pass inspection. The connector made with the nuts and threaded rod will fail. There will be (eventually) galvanic corrosion.
Have a great day and be safe!

    • @motterwelon9500
      @motterwelon9500 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I agree, seems like most these hacks needed a special home made tool to do something that takes a minute. the tool it self takes more time to craft than the job its made to do. doesn't sound like a hack to me when you're adding more time to the job. This video is not very good.

For the homemade Electrical lug, drill a small hole in the tube by the flattened surface, use a broken screwdriver with a rounded tip use it to crimp the tube and solder the wire in place, when solder comes out the hole it's good to go.
    Add flux before soldering.

Or how about not doing it at all because it is stupid and dangerous. There is a reason amperage ratings exist and for people to ignore that fact is highly irresponsible and arrogant. You risk melting the connection causing a short or because they are not installed or insulated properly a ground fault and someone or something getting shocked

      @@riptide8562 you misunderstood me..
I use a grounding clamp as a source for crimping..
I needed a crimper in the field on a job and it struck me..
I installed a 1/2" bolt with a slight wedge, the other side of the clamp has a natural holder.
Placing the 8 gage lug in the clamp, installing the 8 gage cable, then hit the bolt, with a ball peen hammer.. instant crimp.
Then I soldered the lug to the cable..
Sometimes you have to be innovative..

for connecting the wood bars, it would be better to just glue in a dowel. With the screw you are more likely to end up with a space between both sides, since you try to align the edges. Also you still should use clamps until the glue is dry.

Много интересных идей ! Делюсь своей - вместо гвоздя для наливания жидкостей в тонкое горлышко, можно применить нитку смоченную в этой жидкости и по этой нитке можно даже духи переливать в тонкое горлышко другого флакончика !

... except for the fact it flies by much, much too fast. Showing 30 minutes worth of information in a little over 9 minutes ensures a normal person will remember nothing, nuthin', nada, nope, none.
It is simply dizzying. Some of these hacks were mere seconds on the screen.
I give it 5-Stars for information, and 1-Star for presentation.
