Ffx caught you off guard with that amazing blitzball cutscene with the hard rock in the background. You play ffx2 and this cutscene catches you off guard too and its bopping.
This goes to the category of “English dub than the original dub.” They even got 1,000 words right while adding more effects to the scene and I felt the emotions! The voice dubbing is very good too.
I'd call English and Japanese songs for this game on par. Which is pretty huge praise. Love both versions of this and Thousand Words. Only other game I have that with is Kingdom Hearts 2 and its opening track Sanctuary/Passion
This was the first final fantasy game I ever played (the marketing was genius) and I got it as an easter basket present; so it has a very sentimental value in my heart forever. The feeling of seeing how amazing this opening scene was, I'll never forget ❤
Tbh, when I started FFX-2 right after FFX, my first reaction was disbelief. Like from the bittersweet and melancholic ending of FFX, to this... pop comedy intro. The change in tone was so jarring. I mean looking back I get why things are different. Some maturity and age has taught me that change happens and it’s not surprising nowadays for people and places to change so drastically when something equally drastic has happened (Sin’s death). Sadly after finishing FFX-2, I never replayed it even as I continued replaying FFX.

This was technically my first FF game aside from what I saw in KH. My best friend and I both got copies of FFX2 from a GameStop for like 4 bucks and popped it in to see this opening. Holy shit, what a gateway drug. I’ll never forget that night LOL
I love FFX-2 except for how fucking unforgiving it is when it comes to getting 100%, I didn't talk to Yuna in the prologue and missed 0.2% so I didn't get the true ending.
what i love about the character cutout shots for yuna, rikku and payne, is that yuna has that ? that slides faintly behind her name. having that double meaning of "how the heck did yuna, THE SUMMONER FROM THE PREVIOUS INSTALMENT OF 10, just do this magical girl transformation sequence" and the fact that this isn't even yuna to begin with

I’m glad I played x before X-2 was released. Yes it’s fun but the depth of X, the sadness, the doom hanging over everyone’s head, the pilgrimage; yuna being fated to die to summon the final Aeon and seeing the cycle of death in spira. This fun happy go lucky sequel is like a direct to DVD sequel it didn’t need. I think the more time that goes by the more I wish they didn’t do X-2. X had such a perfect ending and this games only goal is to undo it

This game was actually the first one I played on ps2 i think. I was attracted to the cover (as i saw beautiful yuna) and begged my parents to buy it. I love this game so much. I could changed outfit so many times and the songs..damnn. Then I realized that i watched part 2 of a story so I bought finally fantasy X after that. I realized not much people like Final fantasy X-2 but for me it was revolutionary.

I thought Final Fantasy X-2 was Charlie's Angels. Then I finally got to play X and I realized that X-2 is still weird, but I'm happy Yuna found happiness...
