another one is the windows phone link same thing just use the phone link to hook up with blue tooth directly to computer and use your mike and headphones for the call leaving your mixer free for other audio hook up
Resonance between RF and the magnet of the phone receiver. They may have changed the frequency slightly to remedy that. You were actually hearing the signal code in that resonance, hence the morseish tapping pattern in the buzzing. It's actually computer code you are hearing when that happens.
Hey James, I use the RODECaster Pro and love this piece of Aussie tech! My tip for people who buy one is to use the cable connect where possible - I have found that it provides superior sound quality to the Bluetooth option. That said, if the TRRS channel is being used for something else (e.g. external music source), BT is more than adequate.
You didn’t mention what software you are using for audio and how you are connecting Rhode with the pc. Suggestions for which best condenser mic to connect directly to latest android or iPhone? Anyone?
Exactly what I needed! Cable from phone into input 2 of my Scarlett 2i2, and I am roaring and ready for phone conversation recording on my new Podcast! :D
Wow that is awesome. Now I can take callers. Thank you for the video. Very informative. I started my station back in Aug on a different service but I think I can pull it off with my interface. Going to have to test that out. Thank you very much.
Excellent presentation on point, our friend has the Roadcaster and loves it very much especially with the feature that he can hold an interview via his cellphone. Next year we will purchase a unit and broadcast from our company and interview the many spanish artist in NYC. Good tip's for using a cellphone as well to hold an interview and the broadcasting program is populer here in the USA as well.
Hi James! I enjoyed this video. I have a LIVE radio show on LIVE 365 and I have asked a friend of mine to join my show as second chair. He lives in the UK and I am in the states. My show goes through SAM BROADCASTER PRO. Which style of call in setup would you suggest? Could I use just the cell phone method held up to my mic or is there another method you would suggest. I don't have the money to buy a lot of expensive equipment just so people can hear his voice along with mine on my show. Thanks for your time. Keep on ROCKIN'! \m/
Hi James, perhaps you could have included Skype, Telegram, Messenger, and Whatsapp to the list. These platforms even enables multiple callers in a session. We have been using those since Wavestreamer days. Just a thought.
Of course - the point of using a mobile phone or computer is that you can use any platform to make calls! Also I mentioned WhatsApp in the RODEcaster Pro Section. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
James Mulvany I'm looking forward to an enhancement with codes written into the radio.co app to integrate at least Skype with a minus one configuration. Great app nonetheless. Been with you guys 7 years running👌🙌💯
Hey.. can the callers hear each other on this options or do I need to do a group what's app call? Is it strong enough and clear? Cant wait to have two callers on one show but they need to hear one another
You know it's funny that you pointed that out because I saw a Instagram post talking about the past kind of nostalgia type post and it played that audio and showed some computer speakers. And I was like you know I haven't heard that in a while. I have no idea why we used to get that sound and we don't now.
As far as I know there is no way to connect your phone directly through your laptop/computer. There are cheaper options out there when it comes to audio interfaces (check out the Focusrite Scarlett series). However, by far the cheapest option here is holding your phone up to the mic! 🎙️📲
In method number two, how was the caller able to hear you? (I understand how you were bringing back the caller’s audio into the aux input of your mixer… Different question).
Could you show how you route the caller into the RIGHT channel and then your voice in the LEFT channel? I use Adobe Audition and I'd love to know how you do that. Thanks!
James my question is can the rode caster pro hook up to voice changer equipment or software and make calls and receive calls with me having a studio quality altered voice?

Hi sir am planing to start offline phone cal frank cals. So what are the things i have to purches. Plz suggest me. Already i have sony alpho 6400 camera only.
Oh and as far as that sound it would happen before the person's phone started ringing and sometimes boob tube TVs would make that sound even if the power was off. We had a TV in class and I could always tell when my teacher's cell phone was going to start ringing because the TV that was turned off would do that
So how does the audio interface connect to your computer? Would this work with OBS? Are your headphones connected to the interface or the computer itself? Thank you.
They connect via USB and show up as a sound device (either on Mac or Windows) and yes they will all work with OBS. It's just a case of making sure you have the correct source selected.
hey mate, great video, I do live streams every week however I do have phone calls ringing in but when someone else rings in at the same time they is a noise letting me know that someone is calling and comes though the stream how do i turn that beeping noise off. thanks mate
Hey. So I'd like to do exactly what the Rodecaster does with the 3 ring cable for phone calls, but since I have my own mixer already I think getting it is overspending. Do you have any recommendations for what I can get to achieve this? I just want clear output from the phone, and input from the mixer back to the caller.
Maybe a mix minus setup would work? You can find steps on how to set this up towards the end of this blog post: radio.co/blog/take-live-calls-with-mix-minus
But when you connect your phone via Bluetooth...You can get your double audio one is through your mic & then you get it from the phone also.. what is the solution for that ?

Can anyone assist and help you out to understand how to configure it where I can receive phone calls, and it can be heard into the live stream broadcast. Thank you in advance for anyone who wants to help out. I greatly appreciate the group.

Most updated phones have a noise gate interface
So I understand how you can hear the caller when the phone is connected to the interface, but how does he hear you?
In that scenario, the caller will be able to hear you through the microphone which is built into your smart phone.
