    Great conversions, and less plastic looking than the show. 😆

    The soldiers of numenor we saw in the show remind me more of marine soldiers that actual Landtroops.

    • @AndurzTalksHobbies
      @AndurzTalksHobbies  ปีที่แล้ว

      That makes complete sense, especially considering we see tmore heavily armoured troops in the show!

      @@AndurzTalksHobbies btw. i like the looks of your figures more than those from the show. Your units look more relistic^^

    Wizardkiller: I enjoy the way you put your miniatures together. It truly makes table top gaming more involved.

    This is so great! Love seeing conversions from the show and I totally agree that there are some very good aesthetics to source from. Will you make more RoP-content? A mounted Galadriel would be awesome, and while there are some great 3d-models for the orcs, it could be cool to see how you would sculpt them and Adar. Or you know, some Eregion elven soldiers which you can glimpse in the last episode. I have made some albums with pictures of the elven armours if you are interested, but I guess you have probably freeze-frame-studied them all by now ;)

      @AndurzTalksHobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh there's definitely more plans, as I at least want to get a galadriel and Halbrand. And I'd love to do orcs, even had some ideas for them, but I already have so many orcs I'm hesitant to make more!
      Those Eregion elves are great, and would love to have some of those.

      @@AndurzTalksHobbies I think there's a 3D sculptor making RoP style orcs that look great. And I've seen someone convert their own with thin paper used as the fabric. Personally, I'm holding out for some well-armoured Khazad Dum dwarfs. Those full face helmets are so good.

    Oh my god!! That packing paper banner idea is amazing! Okay, time to go back and model up my 100+ bannermen across all my models for various games that just simply have never received banners…. xD

    • @AndurzTalksHobbies
      @AndurzTalksHobbies  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man! And yah I got the idea mainly from the historical gaming sphere as they tend to use alot of paper banners.
      I know other people also use thin metal from cans and stuff but I don't love that, so this felt like a good inbetween!

    I think the title of roquen may be historical in Numenor, inherited from the wars of the First Age, where cavalry was used. It seems that Numenoreans rarely used cavalry (especially heavy cavalry), since transporting horses by ship is difficult, and local horses were too small for Numenoreans, who were tall and heavily armed. So it was easier to use allied light horsemen not of Numenorean race for scouting and other tasks that require cavalry.

    I think the reason that there are people who are called “horsemen” and “knights” in Numenor is this: they usually travel on horseback, because they have horses, but they dismount to fight. This is actually a common occurrence in ancient and medieval history.

    • @AndurzTalksHobbies
      @AndurzTalksHobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yah that makes a lot of sense.... in the end it's all "rule of cool" for me, as I'm not too worried about strick "lore accuracy"

    Absolutely love these minis all though I wonder how you’ll use them in game since Númenor doesn’t really have an option for normal cavalry

    • @AndurzTalksHobbies
      @AndurzTalksHobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yah that's a bit tricky, and the main reason I didn't make more :P I'll probably mainly just use the heroes if I've ever actually playing à game, unless I start messing around in other systems (I hear oathmark is good)

  • @KnudAutlermann

    Your view on Rings of Power is spot on. It wasnt nearly as good the Jackson films... and quite frankly it wont be. But its a nice breath of fresh air and people hating on it just want something to hate

    Are you running these as proxies? I thought Numenor had no calvary. I'd love to see a list though Im inspired to give this build a go, excellent work!

    • @AndurzTalksHobbies
      @AndurzTalksHobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly not sure yet :P will definitely use the heroes as is (maybe mix up the profiles) and then maybe the others will just be mounted captains. It's more rule of cool and than anything else :P

    Awsome as always. Those fireforge kits are just so handy. I loved the armoured horse look! You had a think on rules for this army? Can you ally Glads into Numenor somehow?

    • @AndurzTalksHobbies
      @AndurzTalksHobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! And right now I'm thinking of running them as straight numenor which is why I didn't do more cav since only heroes/captain can take them. However, they can ally with rivendell so I'm tempted go make a galadriel and run her using elrond's profile.
      Some don't fit nicely into the existing profiles, like with queen miriel so... may try and think up some custom ones!

    • @jmaccsarmiesofArda
      @jmaccsarmiesofArda ปีที่แล้ว

      @Andurz Talks Hobbies Ooooooh that's a coool idea using elrond I never thought of that I love it.
      The queen you could run as Arwen? or even just a captain as high elf captains are still really strong!

    I'd watch some asoiaf soi bois! I mean I didn't like the books and soured on the last seasons of the show. But I like to see enthusiastic people talking about what they're enthusiastic about.

    • @AndurzTalksHobbies
      @AndurzTalksHobbies  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yah I love the books, but the show definitely got pretty rough in it's second half....
      It's fun that the game is based on the book as you get some more creative takes on stuff, so yah I'd love to talk about it on here. Also the style of minis is pretty different from other stuff I've done.

  • @sillylilly714
    @sillylilly714 ปีที่แล้ว

    Amazing work as always. And yes, finally someone mentioned that the official lore is... just a mess. A bunch of contradictory texts that christopher tried to put together. And it works! It's great! But it's not consistent (which also fits with the whole "I'm just translating legends" vibe tolkien was going for). So yeah, have fun, there is absolutely no way Eowyna was the only woman ever to pick up a sword and that human-elven intercourse happened three times.

    • @AndurzTalksHobbies
      @AndurzTalksHobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much! And yah, I'm realizing more and more how little "lore accuracy" matters to me as that's not what makes stories like lotr special/good! And I feel people focus way too much on that

  • @Gloomwalker08
    @Gloomwalker08 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    These are great! I love your balance of lore descriptions with gameplay profiles, and I love especially that you don't feel the need to hold "Tolkien's" lore too tightly and overly specific. Love your cuttings, and if love to see what you do with some ASoIaF minis, both in painting/customizing and in lore!

    • @AndurzTalksHobbies
      @AndurzTalksHobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That so much! And yah, I really feel like people take the lore "accuracy" too seriously, as thats not why Lord of the rings was so great, and there's so much room for creativity in that world

  • @dupeesfashionconsultant4204

    PS not a single numenorian wore any of the things they did on that shit show. You know numenor....the place that at this time in the actual Lorne were masters of the sea with the most powerful army middle earth had ever seen and will never see again. The were a foot taller on average than normal humans
