This was proven along time ago when the gracies popularized bjj. They had challenge matches all over the world fighting and submitting bodybuilders, strongmen, strikers, etc. They even proved it in early ufc when a skinny Brazilian beat everyone. There was no weight class back then.

I honestly respect Callen so much for saying all that to Bradley. I’m not a fan of Bradley a lot but Dillion would do exactly what he said. He would destroy his knee or his arm and Bradley’s entire career would be over after that.
Callen was there when Rogan did this to Brendan about his MMA career. And he was a good enough friend to sit it out rather than jumping in and trying to protect brendan while Joe broke him down. If he was willing to do that for a friend he was partners with on a podcast and the like it isn’t too surprising that he’d be real with a guy he isn’t a close friend with.

Bradley’s size is a double edge sword. Grappling takes tremendous conditioning / fiber development for those particular movements. He has a lot of muscle that are conditioned for weightlifting (heavy/short static segments). So when he does MMA, his lactic acid will hit so much quicker. Coupled with his irregular breathing and limited lung capacity for his size is a recipe for disaster

Of course Dillon has a major advantage but it’s not easy to control someone thats stronger than you , let alone someone as big and strong as bradley. With a year of training I’d probably pick him over Dillon in a fight but right now even with a camp it’d be hard for Bradley to learn enough to be competitive with someone on Dillons level.

I remember when I was into bodybuilding and I had a false sense of how well I could fight… then I found boxing… it was the most humbling experience of my life… now almost three years later I’m still trying to undo the years of hard weightlifting and the muscle and how stiff and slow it made me… Bradley Martyn is completely delusional, and tbh his attitude during this segment was pretty pathetic. I’m about 170 rn and I have no problem stepping in the ring with him anytime.

If you’ve never rolled with a competing black belt you can’t even begin to fathom how defenseless an untrained person is against one.
Again Jiu jitsu isn’t everything I’m saying big dudes with zero training (like Bradley) will get rag dolled on the ground or starched on the feet with ease against someone with even one year of consistent MMA training, assuming they spar regularly and have experience in a real fight or two.
the whole argument is Bradley thinks he’d beat Dillon Danis up. Bradley would be 137% useless in a street fight against a mediocre regional level amateur MMA fighter, let alone Danis who’s fought in bellator, is McGregor’s training partner, and is one of the most competitive bjj black belts in the world. Even if Brad’s rtrd strength somehow helped him last more than a minute, after 60 seconds of max output his excess muscle mass would use up all his oxygen and gas him out, and those big muscles would quickly fill with lactic acid handicapping his mobility.
Massive Body builders are never found at the higher levels of combat sports and there’s a reason, bc big muscles are good for nothing but looking cool.
But yes size matters if training/conditioning is equal, that’s why there’s weight classes. But in a street fight idc how big you are if all you do is lift heavy stuff and put it back down, someone half your size with a year or two of Muay Thai & submission grappling training will embarrass you 9/10 times
@Joshua Smith Hahaha 200lbs heavier than me would be around 370lbs. I don't even think I'd need to do anything. He'd gas himself out after he throws around 5 punches.
