I feel like their is lots of similarity between india rituals & rituals of pagan & beltane celebration & their fire ritual & it's mystical & magical celebrations.... so colourful & dance & food & fiesta.
What a glorious time to be alive! The old gods and old ways never died! May the whispers of the old ones become a triumphant cry of elation! Merry meet, everybody!
@@pagangwynne3627 You sound particularly knowledgable on the subject. Except for the obvious incongruity of a diversity homo writhing on the may-pole, what are the old ways, if not those depicted in the video?

I wish there were more like us in my neighbourhood. Would be nice to have others whom are like us around so our children can feel free to be themselves more. Its difficult to teach our children traditions when they are called terrible names for being Witches, Wiccans, Pagans, etcetera. At least right now I feel safer to teach them all I have to share.
Without giving away my age too much but the Maypole dance and celebration was once popular here in the U.S. and was sometimes seen in the schoolyard. However certain organized religions [cough cough ] considered it served no purpose and time has let this wonderful time of play and celebration slip into the past. But today with many people returning , myself included, to a more realistic and basic belief system. Pagans and Wiccans rise and organize and be counted let our voices be heard!
Eddie, did you know that when France gave us the Statue of Liberty there were certain religious groups (also cough, cough) who objected to a Pagan (Hellenic) goddess being the first thing immigrants would see when they entered New York harbor? Like it was going to do any harm.
That was just absolutely gorgeous. I was married outside in my parents beautiful back yard. It has a creek and I crossed over my dad helped me cross over to my husband and it was as close to a hand fasting as I could get and it was a full day of celebration. Thanks for the real thing. Blessed be
This made me cry. This'll be my first Beltane and I'll be sadly spending it alone. I'll definitely be playing this video on Beltane. Blessed Be and Happy Beltane!
Why? Why not celebrate Beltaine by going out in the forest and forging a connection with the land? Much better than sitting indoors in front of a computer.
I've done a lot of study of pagan traditions in the western world and videos like this have highlighted for me one major difference between pagan traditions an later religious practices and that's that the pagan festivals were fun! They were like party's rich in symbolism, tradition, and spirituality. No stuffy sermons given within temple walls but outside celebrating with music, poetry, art, and in todays world great costumes! Thank you for sharing this its been a pleasure.

HearthWi that’s not really nice. Shouldn’t you respect all religions? If someone wants to be a Wiccan let them be move on with your life. We don’t need any disrespect here.
I don’t see it as garbage. I believe in it and it works for me. If it’s not your path that’s ok. A large part of Wicca is honoring your ancestors. Most of its sabbats are based on remembering and honoring your ancestors. I’m also from Irish/ Celtic descent which was originally pagan and Wiccan. Have a good day and blessed be.
HearthWi I also want to add that you are totally allowed to have your beliefs and opinions but you also need to respect others as well. If you don’t have anything positive to say please don’t say it. I don’t want you to feel upset but please learn from your mistakes.
This is the coolest! How amazing it would be to experience this in person! I'm quite solitary in my beliefs, so finding a group to celebrate like this would be so amazing!!
I miss the local town celebrations, they would close Saltash Town centre to all vehicles for 3 days of celebrations including: processions, the crowning of the May Queen, marching of the local bands, local stalls with items for sale, fairground rides and the fun run.
It's a Shame about that. I was schooled in north west England for 3 years and Paganism wasn't allowed to be taught, in the broom closet since I was 13, came out at 23 😢
I'm not sure why, but we don't seem to do a lot of big pagan celebrations where I'm from. Seems more low-key and small-scale, instead of this sort of fun, massive, public thing.
