Ahh the theme of struggling against Lance. The only other person with this theme that gave me trouble was Misty, cause Starmie's water pulse just eats through everything in the teens to 20's
You needed Pikachu from Viridian Forest to be able to fight her(or you chose Bulbasaur as your starter and won her by poisoning and outsustaining Starmie, but Grass types have been awful in the early versions of the game)
at first i didn't like frlg's music but after listening to this track for more than 2 seconds i loved it, now frlg is one of if not my favorite pokémon soundtrack
Never really had trouble with her, mainly because I trained one of the Snorlax amd taught it Shadow Ball, which is a physical attack in Gen 3. And usually I chose Blastoise and kept Bite on it.
When Bruno wrecked me effortlessly I fkn cried my eyes out. Took 3 attempts to break through him. I was desperate because I couldn't understand why I can't win even after restating from the last save. Now I think about it, apart from my starter every other mon was a complete mismatch.
I felt the same way when I faced Cynthia. I didn’t know much about type matchups yet, I played fire red for a bit and was stoked for Diamond. Eventually got to Cynthia with my slightly over leveled infernape, and an underleveled roserade (important). I kept trying with infernape only to lose every time to her Milotic most of all. Then one day I tried using roserade.. Let’s just say I was pretty happy after that discovery
Wanna hear something funny? My Blastoise mismatched my other Pokémon’s levels too, but it was actually my PIDGEOT that swept entire teams being 20 levels above even him. I’ll never forget her 🥲

@@madduxnagel6935 Not really actually. Don't get me wrong, this sounds phenomenal, but the GBA was still capable of more and this shockingly wasn't pushing it as far as it could go. Though never released in NA until the DS, the Phoenix Wright games started on GBA in 2001 and have some very complex and relatively high quality songs- Even when compared to this game. Not to mention voice samples, though that wasn't anything super impressive. Mother 3 from 2006 is probably the most noteable GBA game from an audio perspective (it's soundtrack has over 300 songs!!!), and while I am aware there's several years between when this game came out and Mother 3, the tools and techniques they were using were the same. This game sounds phenomenal, but it's far from the limit of the GBA's sound capabilities.
@@walterwalter-ql1np The thing is that they just made some good as fuck remix on the GBA. And coming from GB, it's a neat change what they achieved to do with the original chiptune songs.
@@walterwalter-ql1npAh yes, a game from 2006. You do realize these games released in 2004 when the gba was still the mainline device right? It by far was the best in terms of audio for that console cycle. Mother 3 released years after support form the device ended and only after extra development time was put into that port.
