    I FORGOT TO MENTION THE ACTUAL CAMERA BAG THAT I USE! My camera bag is the Wandrd PRVKE 31L - it’s very sturdy, has more than enough space for me, I can wear it comfortably for an entire football game, and if you get it new it comes with a lifetime guarantee. Can’t say enough good things about it. Sorry I forgot to say that in the video. Bag is linked in the description with the rest of the gear from this video!

      @@Daniel-jq6rn yes, either deconstructed inside or assembled in the tripod compartment on the side - though I’m also not using this bag as my go-to all the time anymore since it can sometimes be too big for my needs depending on the job.

    amazing video peter. I got UCF football season coming up and have really been thinking about getting a sony lens 70-200 f4. i’m rocking my a7iii rn with an 18-105 f4, but i think that 70-200 is really gonna help, just have been debating what to do about it, as i feel like renting one would add up every game and i’m only a sophomore, so i’m thinking buying it may be the move. would love your input man, keep it up with the amazing content. my other lens i have is a 30 mm sigma f1.8.

    • @petersarellas
      @petersarellas ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d definitely look into buying that 70-200mm f4 if you can swing it! It’ll definitely be an improvement over the 18-105mm for football. If it helps you justify it, whenever I’m bordering on whether I should buy a lens or not I get it used and then tell myself I can resell it and get my money back if I end up not using it as much as I’d like haha

    • @patrickmerluzzi
      @patrickmerluzzi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@petersarellas Thank you my man really appreciate it. So the difference between the f4 and f2.8 isn’t enough to justify putting up that extra money for it? Or the f4 is honestly just the better out of the two? Because i’ve heard a lot of opinions about each option, usually with people favoring that 2.8 so i was definitely curious to hear your reasoning behind preferring the f4. Thanks again for taking the time man i really appreciate you

    • @petersarellas
      @petersarellas ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@patrickmerluzzi in my experience the f4 has better autofocus performance than the f2.8 mark 1 (can’t speak for the mark 2 because I haven’t used it) and I personally prefer the lighter weight of the f4 versus the f2.8. For video specifically I don’t need the extra stop of light that I get with the f2.8 so I prefer the f4, but if you need that f2.8 aperture fully open to expose your image then of course you’re going to want to get one of the f2.8 models.

    Have you shot with the 100-400 during night games? I am considering buying it because I’ve started to shoot on a hi-hat but I don’t know how would it handle low light situations in poorly lighted fields? Aid it helps I am currently shooting with a a6400 with a 70-200 f4

      I actually did just this past weekend, though I was using my A7iv at around 5000 ISO on a professional field with adequate lighting so probably not suitable for the low light performance of an a6400 on a poorly lit field.

    • @petersarellas

      I like it for the versatility with the different pockets and it’s durability when travelling. I also didn’t need anything bigger than 31L and wanted something I could use as a carry on. I now use both this WANDRD and a Brevite Jumper large bag interchangeably depending on what I’m doing and how much space I need.

    Would it be worth it to get the tameron Version of the 70-180 f2.8 over the Sony f4?
    Or does the Sony f4 still trump that one too?

    • @petersarellas
      @petersarellas ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem that I have with the Tamron 70-180 f2.8 is that the lens has no stabilization in it at all and at longer focal lengths it becomes more necessary. If you’re able to shoot on a monopod or tripod with it though then it’s definitely worth considering.

    If imitating pictures and videos for basketball should I get the f/4 sony or 70-180 f/2.8 tamron they're around the same price but I don't know if the stabilization is worth more than the aperture. I use the Sony A7III

    • @petersarellas
      @petersarellas ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used the Sony a7iii with the 70-200mm f4 for a long time and can confidently recommend it. Haven’t used the Tamron 70-180 f2.8 since the lack of stabilization scares me off of it as I know how important that is when filming handheld. So although I cant make a strong recommendation for or against it either way, id recommend if youre going to go that route that you use a monopod or tripod to keep your images more stable.

    How do I know what size to get on the filter? Your link says 77mm is that what I need?

    • @petersarellas
      @petersarellas ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the lenses that you have but I recommend getting a large size filter (77mm or 82mm at least) and then using step up rings to make it fit your lenses with a smaller thread size. This way as you upgrade lenses you don’t have to worry about buying new filters because your old ones don’t fit. I own both of my pro mist filters in 77mm and my ND and star filters in 82mm

    • @petersarellas
      @petersarellas ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d also recommend looking at thread sizes for lenses that you could buy or rent in the future and buying filters that are large enough to fit those lenses as well to avoid running into any issues in the future.
