One of the best snorkeling locations I’ve ever seen. The reef is so biodiverse and alive it is incredible. Very few reefs around the world remain in such good health. It really should be a protected area.
This was a feast for the eyes, thank you. You certainly know what you're doing. All the information, layout and love of this beautiful beach is appreciated. I'm from Isabela on a mountain just above the beautiful Pastillo beach. I live in nyc now but will be going to live there soon. Thank you for the most professional video I have seen showcasing Isabela's beautiful coastline. I just wish you had used salsa music instead but the music you chose was good. Keep up the good work Bernd.
Shacks Beach es el nombre oficial en Google Maps. Bajuras es el nombre de esa area y Los Bravos se refiere a la familia que es propietaria de gran parte de esa zona costera.

Estudie en Isabela toda mi vida y mi casa de playa de toda la infancia fue en la piedra que esta al lado de Villa Montaña donde desemboca el mangle a la playa. Shacks es un nombre inventado por los gringos que llegaron a windsurfear al area en los 90. Se lo inventaron ellos ya que no sabian pronuciar el nombre de Bajuaras y esa era la manera mas facil de recordarle. Nadie estuvo de acuerdo pero el area se hizo tan famosa para el windsurfing que asi le llamaron. Efectivamente por eso se llama Bajuras porque esa es el area. Asi como se le llama a Jobos, Punta Borinquen, Montones y muchas mas. Esa es la verdad. Realmente su video es bueno y mejor aun lo es el que este enalteziendo nuestras bellas costas o playas. Solo creo que deberia darle el nombre que realmente y originalmente es. Shacks es un nombre gringo y debemos proteger nuestra autenticidad. Ya tenemos suficiente con Secret Spot, Wilderness, Bridget y demas. Conserve nuestro idioma y nuestra cultura. Es una cuestion de etica, moral y respeto a nuestra Isla. Siga haciendo tan bonito trabajo pero por favor investigue bien los verdaderos nombres y conservemos nuestra identidad. Salud :)
These were shore dives. However I recommend to use a local dive instructor if you are not familiar with the reef - for both diving the outside reef and the caves
It is a pity that the beauty of Puerto Rico is underused in tourism due to the colonialism of the United States, which does not allow it to progress, having it oppressed and without freedom in the management of its territory.

Very cool footage. Shacks is where I got my PADI certification way back in 1989. It's looking quite healthy there, which is good to see!

Good as long as you rinse it. You also need the dive housing.

Si le digo bajuras a mis panas llegan a otro lado. En Aguadilla todo el mundo le dice Shacks.
