I’m a new follower, of both of your channels, and all I can say is what a blessing you are in this messy world! As a conservative thinker and modern Christian I find great pleasure in learning more about the ways in which each individual lives their faith and beliefs out loud for all the world to see. Thank you for sharing a glimpse into your life, I am so excited to where your adventures take you.

Priscilla, I appreciate your heart so much. I love your fashion sense. I have been buying more dresses to wear so that I can get away from wearing jeans and you have been an inspiration to me. (And I am a grandmother so be encouraged you are reaching the older women as well as the young). I absolutely love your new Chloe Avolon videos. The Lord has blessed you abundantly and you certainly do not hide your light under a bushel. Thank you for sharing your wisdom at this time for this generation. It is greatly appreciated. I am a single mom and make sure my kids have before I do. I work as an aide at an elementary school. I have to dress up everyday. I don't have a lot of extra money to spend on dress clothes. For myself, I buy on clearance racks and thrift stores. I was questioning if I was dressing properly. I prayed about it and asked God if I was dressing appropriately. The next week I was receiving compliments everyday on my outfits. That was confirmation for me that I was dressing in an appropriate manner. Thank you for sharing this!

We, as Christian women, can be an example to those around us. The Lord can be seen through us, in how we dress, speak and treat others. Thank you for speaking about being on the worship team. That’s very important that people not be distracted during that time. Thank you for sharing your heart.

So beautifully said! I loved the part of Christians becoming trend setters and reflecting the bride of Christ. I think so often it has been engrained in us as conservative Christians to dress soberly and modestly- and so often modesty equates almost a frumpy and drab style of dress. I love your style of dress- it is very lovely.

Loved this teaching! I grew up in Southern California in the 1960’s. My Grandfather was a pastor. My mother was a believer… but was a rather rebellious preacher’s kid in some areas. Clothing was one of those areas… Modesty was not something that was taught to me. When I met my husband, before we were married, he had this phrase… “A thin coating of color does not clothing make.” Many believing women do not consider the effect their clothing has on the “thought life” of the men around them. Some women go so far as to say “That is their problem! I can dress any way I want!” The problem is the concept of “defrauding” another person. By creating a desire that you can not lawfully fulfill. 1st Thessalonians 4:3-6 speaks of this type of defrauding. When I was teaching young women, for their Bat Mitzvah ceremony, (I am a Messianic Jew, a Jew who believes Y’shua/Jesus is the Messiah of Israel) I found a book written by a young Jewish woman, Wendy Shalit “A Return to Modesty”, written in 1999. If I remember correctly she was 23 or 24 years old when she wrote the book. She expressed godly wisdom way beyond her years. I do so appreciate your balanced approach to this topic. May the Holy One of Israel bless all your hands find to do.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video for us. I believe what you said about pants are sometimes more modest. Years ago, I used to drive a big truck, and I can't imagine trying to do that in a dress or skirt. That probably would have been more of a problem for the male drivers than me wearing my jeans. Plus it's very hard to do everything you need to around the truck safely and modestly with a dress on. lol

I truly enjoyed this video as years ago the issue had to be addressed at church. Some did get offended but the dress code had gotten totally out of hand for those who were working the various duties….modesty has to be our lifestyle… and as you so beautifully stated….either extreme is not good. We can look elegant and lovely and not be excessive. To me any garment that’s too tight too short and showing every curve as if you are advertising is not modest and if you have the Holy Spirit He definitely gives you a check if it’s not right. We have to examine our hearts as to motive for dressing certain ways too. Your delivery is so full of the love of Jesus and care for the Body of Christ. We must present ourselves as befits our ambassadorship. We represent our Father in all things. Thank you so much and keep being a witness by your chaste lifestyle and sweet spirit.❤️❤️

Very well said. I too was raised in a very legalistic way, only allowed to wear dresses, no jewelry, no make-up, no cutting hair. It never sat well with me as being God's requirements so as soon as I was able, took God at his word and made the fruit of the spirit more of my focus. As you said portray Jesus in all we do. I enjoy your style immensely! The idea of heavenly fashion and of being Christian trendsetters was a new one...different, I'll have to process that.☺
I love skirts and dresses, not because I believe they're more modest, but because they're feminine, beautiful, reflect the eternal fitness of things. I never veered after I left the Amish, knowing that I would always do my own thing, not minding to be part of an elegant minority ☺ I didn't want to leave one culture that dictated dress details only to get caught up in the same the fad bondage of mainstream society.
I'd love to be a fashion designer for said elegant minority , by the way...just saying🥰

You are such an inspiration! I feel you are absolutely right as to what a heavenly fashion, beauty, and modesty is. Your wisdom is a blessing to your husband, family, and all of those around you. A couple of years ago, I had a very similar understanding of modesty and fashion. I discussed this topic with my husband and he was so pleased with my desire to wear more dresses/skirts, which I love. I had shared with him that when I have worn a dress into town to run errands how differently I was treated by others I encountered. He shared how he loves when I dress more feminine by wearing dresses and skirts. Then he encouraged me to buy a few more dresses. This so surprised me, because we have been married for over 30 yrs, raised 12 children, and are now grandparents to soon to be 5!! I hope that you will continue to show women how to dress modestly and fashionable. I also feel women look more feminine when dressed in nice dresses or a modest shirt/blouse and skirt....even if it's a blue jean skirt! I, personally, feel more attractive and feminine when I dress in a dress, too! Thanks for sharing your heart on this subject.

I love this so much!! I just discovered both of your channels this past week, and I have been watching your videos. You and your husband are adorable, and you have a beautiful family. Thank you so much for being a light of Christ. We need to have the light of Christ reflected in our countenance and in our visual appearance. I come from a long line of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). We too are Christians, which is reflected in the name of our Church. We also believe in dressing modestly. Most LDS woman love being fashionable, like you. I love when you said that dressing modestly doesn't mean frumpy!! I totally agree with that. The woman in my family love everything about being a girl, we love makeup and jewelry, and shoes!! When it comes to makeup, my mom always used this phrase, "A little paint on an old barn does wonders"!! I am a 62 year old grandma and we are expecting our 7th grandchild!! I still love shopping for clothes and accessories. As LDS woman, we do wear pants, but we always wear dresses to Church and in our Temples. I love finding good, uplifting, and inspiring TH-cam Channels such as yours. As I learn about other people from other religions or cultures, I always find that we have more in common than we do differences, and that I believe, is because we are all Children of God!!

Priscilla, very nicely shared. Since watching your videos, I’ve bought more dresses then ever! I do feel more elegant and feminine. Since then, I started to notice how many women (myself included) were dressing so masculine, that we’ve lost the Art of being creative. I’ve heard the European women dress up a lot! I’ve been on a journey to be more Christlike, and representing my faith more. Of course, the inner beauty is best…but the outward is also important. I’ve bought a lot of clothes at second hand stores too, and a few dresses on Amazon! Thanks for sharing your heart and faith. ❤️🙏🌷

How I agree when you said, "Moderation in everything." If we can be neat and modest and not draw unnecessary attention to ourselves as women we will honour God in this area of our lives. It is a difficult subject and you dealt with it very well. When a girl is raised with strict rules about clothing and hair styles, it is good to focus on our attitudes and our relationship with God rather than just on outward appearances.

Priscilla, I was so blessed by what you shared from your heart on this subject and I agreed with all that you said. I was raised in a large religious denomination that I ended up separating from in 1992. I know that it had a large influence on my way of thinking and seeing things spiritually and it's been a long road to come to the place of balance in my life. I found the Montana Haven channel a couple years ago and have loved the way you dress. I'm from the Northwest (Spokane), but I'm living in New Mexico, and last June when I made a trip north to visit friends in Sandpoint we made it a point to go to Libby to meet you and see the store, but you had just left for your vacation. While we were at the store I bought a dress made by Rebecca that I just love wearing. You can tell her it's the one that has a butterfly on the bodice. :)

Great topic. Thank you. I live with a double mindset, it must be admitted. For many years, I, too, dressed like the Amish/Mennonite women with head coverings, bonnets, aprons, shawls and the like. It was with joy I pinned on my head covering each morning. About 5 years ago, with tremendous health challenges, there came a time for transition. While I continue to dress modestly, it's not so obvious that my form of dress is observing a religious bent. But even now, my heart longs to return to that unspoken, outward sign which silently says I just don't agree with the world and its ways. But, alas, I drag my feet in returning to Egypt, as they say. Thank you for sharing your heart. Much appreciated.

I come from a religious background. I wore long skirts, no jewelry, no makeup, didn't cut our hair. At around the age of 23 I truly gave my heart to the Lord (by then I had been wearing pants, jewelry and makeup for 7yrs. Today because of my relationship (not religious beliefs) with God is why I understand about modesty. I have a hard time wearing a dress or skirt because it's open at the bottom (I feel uncomfortable) but I wear pants with long shirts, blouses etc.

God's sees our beauty and wants us to feel beautiful. As you know there are many ways to dress modestly, which means that you avoid impropriety or Indecency. Whether you wear beautiful clothes, still modestly, or plain clothes, still modestly, if you feel you look your best you are making God happy. Whether you wear a dress or pants, as long as you aren't indecent and parts that shouldn't be showing are covered, do what makes you feel beautiful. I think that's what you are trying to say. And you don't have to follow a specific fashion. Do you.

Thanks for sharing your heart. I have been hurt and confused through some churches that my husband pastored over the years.
I agree with you on most of the things that you talked about. I believe the Lord will direct us as we keep our trust in Him. I am 71 years old, and I still have people that feel I am not where I should be with the Lord because I cut my (not very short), but I did cut my
hair. I used to wear my hair up, but I got hurt by this kind of people and I did not want to look like them again, and also I was getting a bald spot by wearing my hair up. If our hair is our glory, I don't believe the Lord is in favor of us wearing it in such a way as makes us bald. I am still struggling in this area, but I really feel it is the people that I have been associated with that is causing my struggling. Thanks again for sharing how you feel. I believe the Lord will let us know if we are not doing what He wants us to do.

Trend setters for Christ.. love that. Priscilla I totally agree that we don't have to dress uniformly.. how can we.. even we who follow you are from different countries.. I'm from Malaysia.. but modestly and aesthetically and tastefully .. that transcends cultures.. that's godly.. and you've explained that so well.. I'm a grandma now but hey.. it speaks to me too. God bless you.. hope you keep this channel up even when you move to Alaska

This video and your words really touched my heart. ♥️ Thank you for sharing a balanced perspective on this topic! I came from a more religious type background and I truly desire to be more balanced in how I dress in comparison to my upbringing. I struggle to know what that looks like and you really helped me understand. What a blessing you are to the body of Christ! I appreciate both of your channels very much and how you allow the Holy Spirit to flow through you! Thank you so much!! I am in tears writing this. The prayer was so helpful to me so thanks also for that! God bless you! ♥️

I really enjoyed this video. You came across, to me anyway, that you were saying we all have to live in and be comfortable in our own skin. Don’t judge others. Be true to our calling from the Lord above. He messages us all differently as we all have unique needs from him. I would love to learn more about the book you referenced. It really spoke to me. Bless you!

Priscilla, I know exactly what you are saying. We can dress stylish but be modest! Be comfortable, feel good and wear what you feel is your style. I only have my ears pierced, and no tattoos because I choose that. for myself. I like jewelry too but I don't have rings on every finger but if someone else does I'm fine with that. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. God Bless You

I’m Mennonite, I’d be called conservative by some and others not so much .I’m one of those not really interested in fashion , I believe in being clean an neat though , But what you said sounded like truth to me .I really appreciated what you said us Christian’s should be the trend setters !
