He mustve felt his organs failing. I bet he was on heavy painkillers that gig..like Daniel said afterwards in an interview that he went straight to bed after the gig. It wasnt normal for him to go to sleep early. It was the other way around, he had allways bad insomnia. Youngsters, don´t learn to drink young. It aint a necessity in todays rocknroll workmanship. It WILL ruin your life and catch up to you sooner or later.

1 song from Something wild, 4 from Hatebreeder, 3 from Follow the reaper, 4 from Hatecrew deathroll and you can interchange 4 from are you dead yet? and 1 from Hexed or 3 from Are you dead yet? and 2 from Hexed (Knuckleduster being the oddball, yes I know it wasn’t on AYDY? but it was from the era, it may as well have been an omitted track from said album)

He got to the top of his game on guitar really, his last 2 years or so he upped the bar. I never ever thought he would get his musicianship back to those levels, but he did it, in his late 30s. His musicalsoul is 10000% redeemed. The legacy of his youth was honored by how he chose to mature, and that's an eternal reality. True legend, hurts to miss him so young....... Had he died 3 years earlier he would be a testament of decadence, of how the young always surpasses the old. RIP.

I am from India and have been listening to Bodom since 2004. My friend introduced me to the song Everytime I die and never in my life I could imagine that I will become a metal vocalist. Sixpounder, Everytime I die, Lake Bodom, and Are you dead are the songs close to my heart because my teenage went on screaming at these songs, every freaking day. I repeat, every freaking day. Chester, Alexi, and Dani Filth (Cradle of Filth) have had a huge impact on me overall. Out of these three, two are dead at the age of 41. It pains me man. Really an emotional moment for me as I type.
When COB came to India, I couldn't attend their gig because my exams were going on. I definitely regret this now. I never cared of his lifestyle or substance abuse or whatever people say because I loved him and will love him anyway but the worst thing I am feeling guilty right now is that I personally didn't know, his health was deteriorating so much.
Who will watch this concert and say that he is bloody sick? My heart is aching right here. I cant erase a single year from my teenage without Children of Bodom !!! The memories of 17 long years listening to COB can't wash away just like that. Miss you so fuking much Alexi !!! :'(

      I think TheEldritchinfluence
is right, Alexi didn't expect to die. He knew he was ill, but he thought he will get through this. Why? If he knew he has few months of life he wouldn't split his way with guys from CoB, they would play those few additional months together. After disbanding CoB he founded Bodom After Midnight becasue rights for previous name were held by Jaska, Henkka and Janne, so he couldn't use Children of Bodom name any longer. If he knew it may be his last show he would give some speech at the end, to thank all fans that had supported the band for 25 years and to say goodbye (even not directly, not admitting he's seriously ill). Everything what was happening for last 2 years shows us that he didn't expect to be gone so soon. Would you divorce with your wife if you know that you have 6 months to live left?

ok Alexi was made to play and be alive on that stage with these shut downs think about it he didnt get to be there he lived to entertain to play that guitar to sing those amazing songs...think about it on the side of not the typical but the side of a guitarist that lived to play his guitar! GO ALEXI PLAYING IN THE HIGH SILVER CLOUDS AND WE HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR!!!
