If I set my feeders at the height that you have yours at, my bears would have a field day with it. And I agree with frank a trailer winch would stream line your system, and eliminate unnecessary work. The system is a tried and true one.
I have the same setup. But I use a boat crank. I attached it to the tree. I then ran a a pulley 10 feet up the tree, and it then runs to the feeder pulley. That way you don't have to carry an electric crank and battery with you into the woods.
So this was just the test run we made here in OK. Our other setup over in Arkansas spans a 30’ gap between trees. The bears can’t cross the chain suspended between the trees. They for sure could win the one in the video but that one was just the test one to get the bugs worked out.
