Lord Raven is a memorable character
He isnt just a random lord thats supposed to die just to get replaced by MC
He is actually a Lord worth of all respect
I lost my dad to prostate cancer in 22. Watching this episode hurt a lot. That dad was a Lord above Lord's. He was a dad first to all of them, and then he was the Lord. I can hardly wait to see what else may happen. This is a good show handled well so far.
R.I.P Lord Raven.This was by far the best episode in my opinion. Seeing Lord Raven speak from his heart, not from a Lord's perspective, but a father's really hit home. Seeing someone like Rietz shed tears shows you how good of man he is.
The emotions conveyed in this episode was so well done, and the setup to Ars growth is there, and no l'm talking about his height for once.It was nice that Raven spent his last moments with his family. He was a lord, but more than anything, he was a father first, and a respectable man till the end.
It's a rare blessing that a man can put his affairs in order before he goes. Rarer still that an anime can capture that so beautifully. This episode is nominally about Lord Raven's death, but it is a celebration of his life. We get to see his him rise from his humble origin to how he became a good Lord and a father to his people. He spoke to each of the trusted retainers, his future daughter-in-law, and finally Ars, and we see them reflect upon their relationship with Lord Raven. Witnessing the final day of Lord Raven is like attending his wake, a remembrance and celebration of how he lived his life.
This is an emotional episode, on a personal level even. But it is so well done, I wouldn't have it any other way. Now that the torch has passed to Ars, I can't wait to see what he can do with his newfound responsibility.

In a certain point of view, Ars didnt flinch at the death of his father. He may be not have the face of a warrior as of yet, but his father can rest in peace that his son as the face of a leader.
You know this will be a special episode when the animation and art got a big boost that it looked so good I thought I was watching a different show >_<
RIP Lord Raven.
I said it: Raven is my favorite parental character this season. His last night with his son was my favorite scene in this entire season to this point.
Ars speaking like he did at the end of the episode not only catches us up to that first scene in the first episode, but sets up everything going forward.
Raven easily makes my top 10 dads in anime
this episod brought a few tears to my eyes. Raven was a great father and really wanted ars to succeed in life. Ars is going to be a wonderful leader and the towns people respect Ars. I ready for the next episode.
The director did a really good job of evoking strong emotions with this episode or I’m just sensitive. Good episode and interested to see how Ars will do as a lord. It will be hard looking forward but want to see how he will handle it.
Guess camera ran into some salt water accident after watching this episode, and I won't blame anyone as those damn onion ninja's are going out in full force with this episode which I though would also happen more to the end of the season and not half way through.
"A man's worth in life as a person, and the value of his works can be seen by how many people cry sincerely at his funeral". Forgot where I heard/read that statement, but Lord Raven Louvent is the personification of that statement.
And Ars is going to be the proud successor of that great man.
Sadly there is no info about a 2nd Cour/Season yet, and we know that it would only have 12 episodes (based on Blu-ray release info).

Lord raven is the mvp. He is austounding in terms of awareness and foresight. He address the issue before his death. The magician want to push her limit, he told her to hold on when the right time comes for ars when they need her the most. Telling the kid to live and grow up as a kid to accompany ars. He is too young to grow up fast. Telling a marca to value his life more and be the protector of ars. He see what ars see in them and correct them before his death. The last thing was spending time with his son, a father son bonding. That is the most precious he and ars could get. He take ars guilt away to make sure that he understand as a men they make decision and live by it. Instead of letting ars blame himself and losing part of himself to become colder as a person. He taught ars more even at his death bed.
If we look back, he is the father that don't put down his son. When he brings someone in, he listen however he is firm to know the reason. As time pass by he realise his son's wisdom and path a way during trouble times for ars. He knows ars is too kind and always try his best to shelter him. He look for the best wife for ars. The one thing i believe change his fate was when ars makes changes and bring the three people in. Lord raven would have won but die in battle. He would put his men life before his knowing that he can push himself to death to win the battle.
The regret he have was it isn't enough time to help ars grow to take over his legacy. He felt it was too soon and there is more he needs to do to nurture ars. However, he have to accept that ars have grown and he have to believe that ars can achieve and push his ideology into the world. He have a great passing and the torch is now held high by ars. Beautiful episode.
Definitely an overall inspirational episode, it's no easy feat to Obi-Wan a character, but I think they did that with Lord Raven. Glad we got a few more glimpses of some of the things he was doing "off screen". Now the foundation is set, it really makes you wonder what the future will hold for these characters, and this territory.
Basically every episode before next weeks was the building of his retainers. We got the teaser for this in the first episode, so the next week is the true tale of his story. Everything else was backstory
When i saw the tea cups piling up, I started to tear up because i knew what was going to come, I knew that when Raven went to sleep he wasn't waking back up. Man, if this was taking place a month into the future on Father's day, i would've had a flood.

Can’t lie this episode hit hard. It had me emotional seeing that the dad was a really good man.
I do not know why but while I was watching and cathing up with the show and everytime lord raven was talking for the last 3 ep I was almost led to tears and it got tears out of me this weeks ep was 10/10
Haven't read the manga yet. Will Ars bring the power of gunpowder to this world to offset his weakness. Basic black powder gunpowder is a ratio mixture of three relatively easily procured items.

You wanna know something interesting about Charlotte this episode ? The way she called Ars's father "Oyaji" is a way to say "old man" and can mean "father". Not obvious but when you know it hurt.

The retainers were spotted and recognized by Ars, but they could become who they are because of the trust, support and guidance from Raven.
In a world of political marriages imagine being told by a great and loving father that qualities you yourself have were recognized at a young age. What a gift.
And spending your final hours with your son and heir, as well as the rest of the family.

I know you have so many shows on your plate but Please check out Henjin no Salad Bowl it’s a good little slice of life reverse Isekai, on the surface it may seem like it’s all cuties but it touches on a lot of under currents themes in Japan.
I remember reading this in the manga a year ago and almost cried at it, so this time I REALLY had to try hard not to cry because WOW
Just found out my parents are going to get divorced. This episode just hit a lot closer to home.

This was a hard chapter to read during the manga I’m gonna have to skip this one. Man. A few shows are gonna have episodes like this, this season of anime it’s too good
I HAVE SAID THIS EVEN EARLY TIMES IN MANGA AND EVEN NOW. This story is GOOD. Its not your typical isekai. The mc is not self insert bland guy. No harem (so far). Its just a good story. Not the best, but one of the stories that would probably be in mind for a long time.

With that gigantic death flag from ep 6 and ep 1 it was a done deal but still hit harder than most of other deaths i hate daddy's fate but trully great episode.
Best episode, yeah, but the other episodes were really only 'okay.' Hopefully the show will improve on its quality

I disagree. After watching 3 episodes, I got annoyed by the MC and how he recruited all of those people. I prefer the 7th prince and Level 2 super cheat better.
