Thank you Richard for sharing Alik's orchard with us. I have received many varieties from Alik in the Rio Grande Valley, South Texas, where I lost all my collection to a severe cold front. I potted and rooted everyone of his cutting and now are over 6-7 feet tall and growing like weeds. Again Thank you Richard and Alik for all of the information you share with us all.
The youtube algorithm blessed me today. Saw your Colab with Epic Gardening a few years ago and was absolutly in love with that video for weeks if not months😄Happy to see you still killin it with the Dragon fruits!🔥
Love his farm. Please visit more farms this summer. Are you going to have a tasting. So lucky to get so many fruits from his farm. ❤❤ I can’t wait for mine to fruit. Thank U for sharing.
@GraftingDragonFruit I feel like you bamboozled me! No way someone with a ch in their name mispronounced a word with a ch in it! You 200 IQ farmed me for a comment!! 😂
I have a question, why is the ends of my dragon fruit branches turning white? They’re still plump and healthy looking but turning white. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Ricard, i am very new for dragon fruit. Just fell in love. Living at UK not weather for them there. But i am mad enough to try them to grow from seeds what i took from superstore fruit. First attempt was died because if cold. But i tested yellow variety and oh, i must have them. I did try many tit until they sprouted. Now i having small little once. I do want them to grow for cuttings and take them to Africa where us weather much better for them. Do its ok to growe them as they go and then cut from mother plant for cuttings. Just much easier to pack them for transfer.
What's the pros and cons of letting them grow wild like Alik vs heavy pruning into a shape of an umbrella? Will letting them grow wild produce more fruit? Is Alik letting them grow wild to sell the cuttings?
I wish I could have more helpers. Volunteers are coming. This is my full time job now. I give away cuttings to my local community and adding to the orders as a gift. Definitely needs trimming to propagate. I have 700 cuttings in the green house and will replace them soon with a new one.
I have a question. If these dragon fruit flower only at night, how does someone who has a farm pollinate their plants since we know that pollinators dont come out at night.
Hi Richard! Thanks for all the great videos, I learned a lot from you, I am a new dragon fruits grower, do you sale your dragon fruits stems? & pollens? I really like to have a 1 purple haze, 1 red Laverne, 1 wild berry skittles, please let know & thank you
how do I get some cuttings from you? I currently have Frieda's snow dragon's seedlings that I would love to graft into one of your cuttings to speed up the fruit growth.
How do you deal with rotten wood after many years and hundred of pounds of branches over it? Wood is easier to cut and build but I will do metal from old fence post. Last forever and. not worry about rust as it is galvanized. Of course i have a welder and know how to weld. I prefer metal over wood for rigidity and longevity. Pvc is a NO NO.
I have a question. I just received my first sugar dragon cutting from a shop on Etsy from Florida. I live in California so it took about a week and a half to get to me. When I got it it’s still quite green but very very thin almost as if it’s completely dried up, the fins are not even 1/8th thick. Just wondering if it’s too far gone and if there’s still hope. Thanks!
Dragonfruit can go a pretty long time without water. While they like water more often than regular cactus, it's still a cactus. A week and a half isn't that long. Just don't stick it out in full sun right away. Part shade, baby it a bit.
@@NatureWithAlik finally was able to upload a picture, I had to wait for TH-cam to verify me. When you say soak in water do you mean keep the soil moist or completely submerge the cutting?

I think that these are the healthiest looking dragon fruit plants I’ve ever seen. It didn’t seem like there were any blemishes or diseased stems at all. What’s the secret? Is it his particular climate, soil mix, feeding schedule, etc.?

I've bought cuttings from Alik before, he has the best cuttings for the best price on his eBay store!
I’m planning a trip to Ventura county in September. I want to see if we can make a stop at Alik’s place.
Definitely contact him when the time comes
He's by appointment only but you should definitely do it.
I have a question, why is the ends of my dragon fruit branches turning white? They’re still plump and healthy looking but turning white. Any help would be appreciated.
Did he have any of the yellow Ecuador Pelora? That guy has a lot of plants. Thanks Richard
I am in northern CA, might I buy some branches from your orchard? How do you send them? Via ups, the branches should survive within 5-7 days, right?
Thank you
Cảm ơn bạn chia sẻ video về Thanh Long,thật tuyệt vời,mời bạn ghé quê hương tôi
Good harvest ! How come cost of that fruit in store racks are costly? $5 to $6 a piece?
It’s the same on farms as they are sold by the lb. Biggest reason because it takes a lot of work to grow them and there’s not a huge mass amount yet
I am working 14hrs a day and there are still lots of work with taking care of the plants, rooted cuttings and night pollination.

Why doesn’t the grower grow DF in the ground directly? Please advise. Thanks so much!
We applied weed protection and rotate the plants every two month to have equal amount of sun to all the branches and keep balance.
Where are you located ? Do you sell cuttings?
Beautiful! Question. Will it flower/fruit in the future at an same spot where it has fruited before?
No it won’t. Once the nodes are completed, it is done for that branch
@@GraftingDragonFruit so what’s recommended for that branch? Should it be removed?
Nice

It works at night.
But why he didn't trim/ cut the bottom like people say.

100%, will trim for the new cutting to grow. I have 700 in green house to replace now.

If I live in the TN ,can I plant the dragon fruit
They prefer sandy, very well draining soil. How cold does it get in winter where you are? It's a tropical plant.
You can definitely plant them as long as you're able to maintain the soil and conditions to what they require
I thought of order som fruits, but all the fruits are out of stock. Crazy.

Whoo! All of that talking over each other gave me a royal headache. I will try again to watch to learn.
How often do you water?
Once a week 1/2 gal per plant when hot over 85. Use mulch and umbrellas to cool them down and keep moisture.
It just depends on the soil and weather.
Thanks Alik! If you have a good source for good umbrellas, please share.
