Bale actually was the catalyst that got Andy to move out of his comfort zone, take the Sgt exam and become a boss. In the end it leveraged him to become squad Commander and take care of his friends and team. Sipowicz is the greatest redemption story. 🎯 😎 💯
After re-watching this clip, it's funny to hear Bales say, " ...you are the last person I would come to for advice on how to run a squad! " After further situations with Andy, he tells him he should take command. Great character development.
Bales was an IAB officer. He had the animosity of the squad working against him. After confronting Andy about the father's change of heart, he was the cheese standing alone.
Andy and Bale actually made each other better cops. Andy pushed Bale to become a better leader, and Bale pushed Andy to become a boss. By the end, they have respect for each other.
Andy is right. No one in the squad can trust Bale with anything personal. They can’t confide any theory or non work related problems. Any leader like that just alienated every one under his command.
He should've said, "For the huge price bribe you're willing to pay, you could hire a lawyer who can push the bond hearing and get him out on $10,000 cash bail."
I like that NYPD portrayed the dicks...(and I don't mean gold shields), as well as the mensches. No sugar-coating. Sip was the cop you loved and sometimes hated. A cop's cop. Great show that snuck in a moral or a feel-good twist for the populace they protected. ❤️👍
And just for the record, he did not commit a crime in front of the squad. He asked "what's it going to take to make this go away?". That is not a bribe. We know what he meant, but what he actually said was not a crime. The bribe happened inside the office.
What if the father went to IAB and told them a cop offered to make the charges go away for some money. The father comes back wearing a wire and records Bale taking the bribe. Then two different groups of IAB officers show up at the same time to arrest Bale and the father not realizing that they were both getting setup by IAB. But in a further twist the father was wearing a wire when he went to IAB and recorded them offering a bribe, wear a wire and your son’s charges go away. Because the actual private conversation between Bale and the father was in fact a bribe to wear a wire, go to IAB and record them taking a bribe. But the father was already wearing a wire provided by IAB when he first showed up at the precinct to record Bale bribing him to wear a wire and go to IAB to record them bribing him to make the charges go away. There are now dozens of IAB officers, everyone is confused, the father is standing there half naked from revealing several different recordings devices. Before anyone thinks to ask the father who had him wired the first time, Medavoy walks in...
Play things by the book? Compelled by fear? That’s no way to run a group. Play things by the book only works on certain situations with certain groups. The Squad ain’t one of those groups. LT is way too stuck-up with by the books protocols
Once more I side with the LT. How many rich people use their money and power to get out of things that would mess up poor people for life? Those people break the system, skate by like it is nothing while the rest of us pay.
@@UberKrispy It is not being an ass to not wont the let rich people get they way all the time. How many poor good kids have to face the system without daddy to bail them out. That's cool with you, 9nly justice finding the poor?
On this one I agree with the Lt. The guy had the audacity to make the offer right in front of the entire squad. At the same time I don't blame the rich for trying to use money or influence to their advantage. Who doesn't take advantage if they have a leg up? Poor people are just bitter because they lack the resources to help themselves.
@@patrickmorrissey3084 you may be surprised to learn that not everyone is as gross as you are, but were the world as you describe it that would be justification for the bitterness you describe, it would be morally righteous.
A lousy working atmosphere to expect people to do their jobs at as best as they can. I worked for a guy that thought chaos on the work site created a better work environment. I was gone within a few months and less than a year later the business closed! Sadly now days an annoyed employee comes back and just starts shooting.
that sounds a lot like the US Postal Service. Too many managers, create chaos. they push that line between intimidation, harassment, and most of the time, they lose grievances filed on mgmt. No wonder the term, "going postal" use to happen often at that work place.
Wait did I miss when he said 17 is an adult? Is that not false? I mean I know that it's close to 18 but 18 is a legal adult and I know that in certain circumstances that a major crime may be tried as an adult.
Most interesting part of this scene to me is when Bale sends John out of the room. I wonder why Bale wants John gone while he explains to the squad that he is about to do something scummy? Hmmmmm
Wow so you and your mom sit around watching dat ish together!!! Watching her getting raw dogged in a 3-some… Looks like pops was scoring extra points at 65+++
People like that are now the norm of management. However, people like bale and sometimes it does happen, it does bite them in the ass. The guy person who bales wants to set up could argue entrapment not only false arrest, corrosion, and not only could the NYPD be sued, but bale could lose his job, and maybe prosecuted.
I can buy that for $50 at a licensed state-approved dispensary where I live. What a monstrous injustice that so many people had their lives destroyed over this.
1/4 ounce.......you can legally buy up to an ounce in Canada and most of the states lmfao god this is a bit old eh?......1/4 ounce is literally a handful of nugs lmfao
A quarter ounce of Marijuana is 7 grams. Barely enough to cover the bottom of a zip lock bag. That is the major offense this kid was arrested for. Just to give a visual of the heinous crime he had committed.
Nothing to do with this country. This is a tv show and its clear the writers have no clue what they are talking about. Even back then this was no more than a summons. Maybe the lowest possible misdemeanor at most if it was in public view. They made it sound like he was going away for years or whatever. If some cop actually put him through the system he would see the judge most likely in under 24 hours from the time of arrest and then just get released.
Seriously? This show is absurd. A quarter ounce of weed and they are sending him to central booking? That wouldn't have even been a misdemeanor under the old laws. It would have been a ticket. They telling the guy he needs to go get a lawyer for his son? Whole thing completely divorced from reality.
