this is an excellent song and i think you sung it very well. i first heard this song in my bloody jack book #5 by L.A. Meyer who is my hero and i have listened to others but yours is my favorite. :)
I looked this song up because I read it or rather listened to it in the "Bloody Jack series book 5 Mississippi Jack" You did an amazing job on this song. Maybe you should check out the other songs in the series and see about recording them as well! :) Let me know if you are interested in the other songs from the series and I'll direct you to them.
I know this song from the group, "The Whites"...who were in the Down from the Mountain Tour". I just went on Y.T. ....and this is the best version I've heard. Esp. without backup, you are all on your own...but you stand tall here. Beautifully done. This song goes way, way, back....to the times when only the folks in the "hills" were doin' bluegrass, and the rest of the nation was just getting the word. Mother Maybell Carter. You do the song proud, miss.
Dont even listen to that negative person. I have been listening to several other videos of this song, and I came back to yours because your voice is so pretty. Keep it up! You really have a beautiful voice.
I believe that this song was unaccompanied at first like as you sing it. After my information it was originated in the Appalachians, USA. But it sounds like if it would has old celtic roots. However, your version is surely one of the best an for me those with the clearest text version and the most feeling. I like it very much.
Yeah, I have heard several versions. :) This one is definitely less... well, elaborate than the others are. But it's from one of my favorite movies, so I decided to sing this version. ^_^ Thanks again for your kind words!
Lyrics Come all ye fair and tender ladies Take a warning how you court your man They're like a star on a summer's morning They first appear and then are gone. They'll tell to you some loving story And then declare they love you well And away they'll go and court some other And leave you here in grief to dwell I wish I was some little sparrow And I had wings to fly so high I'd fly away to my false lover And when he'd speak I would deny Love is handsome Love is charming Love is beauty while it's new but Love grows cold as Love grows older And fades away like morning dew
@peagirl71 Wow, you are much too kind! :) I suppose I never really thought about making a CD professionally. I wouldn't even really know how to go about it, really. If I ever happen to get a nice microphone I will see what I can do about recording, and let you know. :) Thanks so much for the encouragement!
Roughly translated via google: I love this song. PP & M's songs Now the song in the band would like to. I'm a very good guitar. Of course the song It touched a nice voice. Japanese across I think not. I'm sorry.
